- Day 1 of my trip.
I make the long journey from Canada to Tonga then brave the local wildlife to get to the store (for beer)

Way different than Korea for sure.
😂😂😂 omg this video is the best. Thanks for showing the dogs so my kids can see what I've been talking about.
The dogs were a concern for me during my first few days there haha
sick content bro have a good time!
와우~~~ 단 오랜만입니다! 자주 봐요~~~~~^^
Cheers!
😊Best to stay at a nice hotel instead of that place you stayed at because you have to deal with bugs. But if you are budgeting? That’s what you have to do?
So like? In Tonga where I am from. The good quality hotels there? Are like I would rate it as a Motel 6 style. Then a hotel that is like the style of Marriott the good quality hotels? I don’t know what it’s called but it’s in Nukualofa.
The market in Nukualofa is good and can be busy.
They have Sundays where the stores are closed because it’s church day only and no business only a day of worship.
Looks like you got an experience of Tonga and the people.
Yes, I was trying to budget when I first got there. But I did stay in a really nice hotel on my last few nights in Tonga. Seaview Lodge. I do a little tour of that hotel in my final Tonga video :) I had a great experience in Tonga, and the Tongan people were amazingly friendly and hospitable!
Glad you made it safe😊 can’t wait for your next video from your new work place in Tonga.
Thanks! Tonga feels super friendly and a completely safe country. Cheers!
Looks amazing. Tonga has always been a dream for me
OMG Dan, stay safe and dog/bug free! Looking forward to your new digs...
Safe from dogs at the moment, lots of bugs around, but none in the bed :)
for the dog problem you just bend down and pretend top pick up a rock to throw it at them and they'll scatter. also Sundays everything closes except for bakeries, they tend to open later in the afternoon.
I will use that pretend to pick up a rock trick. Most dogs have been pretty sweet so far. Just a few made me a little uneasy.
Dealing with dogs in Tonga is to pretend to pick up rocks and throw me they’ll back off.
isle of dogs 😊
In Tonga you allow to take a stick and hit the dogs are trying to attack you, because they not allow to attack you on public area (road).
Yes I got some advice after. Hold a stick or pick up a rock and it usually scares the dogs away
If l were you l'd freak out seeing dogs 😢
anyway happy to see your video again🎉🎉
Thanks ^^ There is only one dog on the island I'm staying on now and he's super sweet. So I'm safe at the moment:)
What a welcome. Not the ideal bunk mates on night one, but hopefully it gets better from here!
I'm sure it will! My island room is not bug free, but at least I'm not sleeping on any of them
I've could been a tour guide for you
And defended against the dogs? Lol
Hi there 😊 Looks fun! I am going later this year and have 5 nights on the mainland, and wondering if you have any recommendations of things to do 😊.
Hey :) 5 days is a lot for Tongatapu. There really is not a lot to do In Nuku’alofa, but do check out the market downtown. There are sites to see around the island. If I had one more day there, I’d hire a driver and do a tour around the island.
@@DanDoesKorea Cheers! Was wondering if I might be over doing it . . . Added both to the plan, just have another couple of days to fill before I fly out to an island 🏝 🙂 Tonga 😍
@@GGLaVitaMia enjoy it! I had a blast there
omg had those once... I was ready to burn our house down... I doused the place in chemicals.... Be careful not to pack them up with you!
I was careful not to keep my bag anywhere near the bed, and checked my clothes well before packing and moving on from that place, haha. I think I'm safe. Cheers!
If you enter their territory, grab a stick from a tree and when barked at, wave it. Or bend down like picking up a stone. Never got bitten while doing so.
Yes I learned that haha
Did u ever consider doing walking videos as a side content to your full production content? Could be fun doing some live walks in Tonga.
I have!! But didn’t know if ppl would be interested in just walking videos. I will give it a go sometime. Not much walking to do on this island I’m staying on, but I will do one in the future ! Thanks ^^
@@DanDoesKorea awesome. I for one will def tune in for that.
Top 3 denomination is
1. Methodist(Wesleyan)
2. Catholic
3. Mormon.
Dogs are an issue, I was living in Thailand on Ko-Tao and every morning on my Dirt Bike I would be persued by about 15 random Dog's....just lift your legs and hit the Gas !
no bike at the moment, but I think I've figured out that yelling and some body motions works quite well against the dogs :)
Get a stick when I went to tonga better to walk with someone that knows tonga that taught me to use a stick to scare them they will run back to their house
i've found that lunging my body forward and yelling at the same time works quite well, but holding a stick sounds like a good idea. no scary dogs where I am now, but when i'm back on the mainland, I'll be carrying a stick :)
