Hello! Greetings from Guatemala Central America, since I was a little kid I heard about Tonga, and me , same as you, got amazed by Google Earth, my hobby. Now, when I choose a place to visit in Google Earth , I look for a nice "visiting..." video in youtube, and yes, I was remembering Tonga, and I found your videos, great by the way, loved them, thank you. I speak Spanish (native) , and English of course, and you're invited to Guatemala any time.
Ola! Thanks for the kind words, and yes, Google Earth is amazing. I've started experimenting more with Google Earth Studio. It's challenging but fun. Central and South America are on my travel wishlist. I'll let you know when I'm heading down your way :) Cheers! How do you say "cheers" in Spanish?
@@DanDoesKorea Don't hesitate to let me know when heading to here, I'm in the capital city. And cheers , in many latinamerican countries is "Salud" , it is like wishing health to the other person. I'm finishing your Tonga videos, I will continue with New Zealand.
Last night I've got notified from the telegram that Tonga had earthquake 7.4 magnitude. Then I searched the Tonga about the land and the place until I came across to your channel. I find your vlogs that are fun at the same time very educational. I watched all your videos from day one until your last video. Thank you so much for sharing your nice experience there. Hope you will get more sponsors and supports. Wish you all the best! Take care for your next trip.
Thank you so much! I love comments like this :) I didn’t hear about the earthquake but will look it up now. I try to throw a little bit of trivial knowledge into every video, I like learning about new places and hope other people do too.
@@DanDoesKorea You have the best experience! We only live once and you'd discover such incredible places that is indeed untouched by the outside. And thank you, while watching your videos, it does feels like you bring us there too. Praying that you will continue doing more contents about the places you have/will visited the places. 🙏🏼
Hey Dan, stumbled across one of your Tonga vids a few weeks back and it's been heaps fun to follow and watch how your time has been in the islands so thank you for sharing. Hope you're having a great time in Aotearoa, make sure you catch a feed at a Night Market while you're here 🤙🏽
Awesome! Thanks for watching :) You taught me a new word! "Aotearoa" I had to look it up. Good to know! New Zealand was a blast! I could only stay a few weeks because it was very expensive, and I'm on a tight budget, but I did get to check out both the North and South Islands. The South Island might be the most beautiful driving I have ever done in my life. First Aotearoa video is coming soon :) Cheers!
Loved your Tonga videos, Dan. I can feel the warmth of the people through your eyes. It must have been a little bittersweet leaving the beautiful people and beautiful islands. Now off to your next adventures in NZ! 👋
I love your videos. I have been living in Tongatapu for 4 months. I shared your videos with my family so they could see when I live. I will stay tuned for your next destination.
Nice work on the videos hope you have a great time in NZ, pretty average weather here just now, driving on the left, don't let it scare you, I was a bit like that when I first had to drive on the right, especially roundabouts which just feel plain weird!
Thanks! I managed to drive in NZ on the left without causing any accidents :) You are right about the roundabouts, but once I got used to them, I think they make much more sense than traffic lights. Working on NZ videos now. Cheers!
I really liked your Tonga videos. WorkAway sounds like an interesting way to visit a country. Is Tonga a place you would recommend visiting? Did you feel safe?
100% safe for sure. I think it’s totally worth visiting if you can get off the main island and onto some of the smaller islands. Vava’u is definitely worth a visit. I don’t know where you are coming from, but flight costs there can be pricy and something to consider :)
New Zealand has come and gone for me. I was only there a few weeks. I was in Auckland and then flew to the South Island for a road trip. Absolutely stunning landscape down there!!
I went to school in Tonga and I'll never forget a lesson we had in Geography. The teacher told us a story about 2 tourists that came to Tonga and they wanted to drive around the island sightseeing. Anyway, the taxi driver kept telling them to put their heads down because flying foxes were everywhere and will attack. So they hide and turns out the driver is just driving around in circles for a couple of hours then drops them off charging them hundreds. The teacher then goes on to tell us that those 2 tourists will go back to their country and tell people not to come to Tonga because they had a bad experience and were ripped off. Then word will spread and nobody will come and Tonga relies on Tourism. So we were taught to be friendly to the tourists and always say hello and help them because helping the tourists helps us in the long run. Random story but I always think about it when tourists are like Tonga is so friendly. Friendly to Tourists 😂😂 anyway, we enjoyed watching your Tonga videos. You have convinced my daughter to now go 😂
I was wondering if people are instructed to be friendly to foreigners!! Interesting! I wonder if that story is actually true though. Hahaha. Are you Tongan?
It's a shame that story is true. I was hoping it wouldn't be, haha. It seems out of character for everyone I met there. Hope your daughter has an amazing (and safe) time in Tonga!! Malo e lelei !! :)
Hi Mr dan i wish u r fine Whats your opinion if someone from Egypt for example decide to immigrate to tonga Can you tell me in brief Life and work there is easy or suffering living hard life I talk bout money and live there
Hi! Tonga is a great place to visit. I was only there for 2 months, but my opinion is that work would be difficult to find. There is not a lot available for jobs as far as I know. Tonga is a beautiful place, with friendly people, but quite basic and not much in terms of infrastructure. As for foreigners living there, there are a lot of Chinese who operate shops and some western people. Hope that helps a little
@@DanDoesKorea thanks for reply i understood you in the work topic what about living cost montly is it good or expensive for example 1500 tonga$ sufficient or not Rent house montly how much cost!
I have no idea what rent costs are, but if you eat simply, it can be cheap. However, the choice of food can be limited at times. They rely on imports and some foods run out before the next ship arrives
More Tonga videos please! These are the most real travel videos of Tonga I have seen.
I will look back at unused footage and see if I can put something else together :)

She should definitely go! Just carry a stick or rock to scare away the dogs and don’t be scared of those flying foxes at all, haha

They have trombones in Tonga?
Hey JP! I did see some in a funeral procession brass band, but never got to sit in with a band
Should visit SAMOA 🇼🇸
