Just got back from a cruise from New Zealand to Tonga and Fiji and was there one week ago and I must say this was one of my favorite Islands. Was only there for a day and on foot and would've liked to of seen more. I saw inside the same big Catholic Church (infact there was a funeral procession shortly after) and also got to see some of the township and a nearby beach. Thanks for showing me even more of this beautiful place and yes the people are friendly! I've just subscribed to your channel.

Named the friendly islands, but little did Cook know the Tongans' original intentions were not so friendly. Just look up the story of William Mariner, haha, but all in all, Tongans are friendly until they're not lol

What I want to know is whether there is a nice beach within a walking distance from the Port area in Vavau. Or whether we will need to book a tour to go to another small island from Vavau Port. This is my very first time leaving a comment on RUclips haha. Some information would be helpful!

I did not see any beaches around the town of Neiafu, but that doesn't mean one doesn't exist. I never really needed to find one there because I was living on the island with an amazing beach. I know that there are some incredible beaches on the islands in Vava'u, but accessing them is the tricky part.
