NEXT WEEK. BIGGEST SEEK DISCOMFORT DROP EVER. GET HYPED. Now to add a note on climate change, what's happening to Tuvalu is heartbreaking... We're trying really hard to work on our emissions. We're the first to admit that we're far from perfect and have a long way to go. We're educating ourselves on how we can be better and we carbon offset all our flights, which is a start but obviously not a final solution. We're actively experimenting with ways to improve and we'll be talking more about it in future videos! I'm feeling super grateful after this trip and I'm so excited I got to share this incredible experience with you all. Love -Thomas

Yo so I'm half Tuvaluan from my mum's side but stay in Fiji, and this guy stayed at our motel which is so insane cause i grew up in that exact same house and that was my grandmother that asked him his name and just watching him explore my home island took me down memory lane.
This video is literally meaningful to people from Tuvalu and hope more people get to explore this small island country.
    Thank you @Yes Theory

But what will you eat? A whole unseasoned chicken and fries?
The Pacific islands are definitely not a culinary destination. I'd kill to open a badass restaurant out there (I'd have the market cornered), but all the ingredients would need to be imported and it would cost an arm and a leg to fly it in. The cost would be so high that none of the locals could afford to eat there, so I'd go out of business anyway.

We flew there 25 years ago from Fiji in June and when we landed we were the 3rd and 4th tourists to visit that year. We stayed for 3 weeks and on the 4th day there was a cyclone for 3 days. It was also the 10th anniversary of their independence and a large celebration so we were invited to the party. Then it was the Queens Birthday as well. So we got and invite from the prime minister to attend. I had to borrow shoes shirt and long ants to attend. What a great place to visit , it was such and honour and we have such great memories.

LOL, I get what you are saying but, honestly, you would probably get treated in a very similar fashion in any small town in America or in many foreign countries. I grew up in a little hick town in Kentucky. If someone new showed up at school, everyone wanted to talk to them and be friends with them. When I was in Korea, with the military, I went against what everyone told me and I toured the country. People came out of the woodwork to talk to me, to practice their English, or to just invite me to come and eat with their family in parks.
My girlfriend laughs at me because I just start talking to people. I will see something that attracts my attention and comment to them and the next thing you know, I'm in a deep conversation with them. There is nothing stopping you from doing the same. Seek discomfort. Get outta your box. Talk to strangers.

But since we don't see those things everyday, it is something unique worth visiting.

Yeah, I’d be super anxious. I’m I’ll and can’t ever travel to most of the world anyway, so I don’t think I’d actually ever get into a situation like that, solo in another country, so far from home, when someone else calls over at you, maybe angry, maybe upset. Yikes. I’m so glad they do this though; the world is such a big place and despite son,any cultural differences, it’s all just.., people, living. So cool.

lovely video, felt so happy watching it. Reminded me of a few trips I made in the mid 90s to Samoa (Western Samoa at the time). The same sense of community and sharing. The same happy faces and kindness. Even the same greeting: Tofa! (Which, if I remember correctly, was an abbreviation of "Talofa"). Obviously these countries share a common history. I've always longed to return.
