Imagine living on an island that doesn’t even get tourism and meeting someone you watch on the internet randomly. It’d blow my mind if I saw someone even in my small town in Illinois lol
LOL, I get what you are saying but, honestly, you would probably get treated in a very similar fashion in any small town in America or in many foreign countries. I grew up in a little hick town in Kentucky. If someone new showed up at school, everyone wanted to talk to them and be friends with them. When I was in Korea, with the military, I went against what everyone told me and I toured the country. People came out of the woodwork to talk to me, to practice their English, or to just invite me to come and eat with their family in parks. My girlfriend laughs at me because I just start talking to people. I will see something that attracts my attention and comment to them and the next thing you know, I'm in a deep conversation with them. There is nothing stopping you from doing the same. Seek discomfort. Get outta your box. Talk to strangers.
I know it and what is funny about that is that this land has nothing special, people who live here consider it a normal place for living, yet for us, it looks like a paradise, just because it's a regular island with access to sea. But since we don't see those things everyday, it is something unique worth visiting.
Wow, the people of this island! So, from the aiport check-in when you are greeted by a barefoot man, to the curious way that subscriber guy spotted you and his simple life of "that is all we need" , to the people playing on the airport strip it was all so unexpected and amazing 😍 I hope this island will only get as much publicity as it needs to be kept safe, and that crowds will not change the beauty and simplicity of their lives.

Imagine just chilling in one of the least visited countries in the world and then you see a person from the channel you watch casually walking on the beach.
That could easily be changed had not the worry for the country going under seas. Turbine and solar technology could run thier internet, lan and mobile tech.
...Because theres nobody that will donate or build an infrastructure as I mentioned above as an act of kindness to get them started because this world is too greedy and careless. I know if i had hundreds of millions to tens of billions like the 2% of the world, I would happily help them along with setting up a few deep sea fishing boats for them. All that unfished water can bring them lots of money. Theres many ways they can make money from trade and still keep a free trade within the Islands. People apparently dont think outside the box anymore and thats why our world is not like thiers. Watch his show on Bhutan "The happiest country". Maybe we can learn from them to help Tuvalu.
According to Wikipedia, it seems these people will have an option to move to New Zealand or the island Niue (which is also in danger of flooding). Other option is the Kioa island, which is apparently already rented by Tuvalu (tuvalueans?).
This place has seemed to have everything figured out. They don’t have much pollution, and they solved homelessness. And everyone seemed so happy. If only it wouldn’t drown 😞
read the wikipedia article about tuvalu. The explain that it probably won´t drown so fast, because of stones and sand which are coming to the island by the sea (sry for bad english) :D
Fun Fact: Tuvalu's main source of foreign revenue is from Internet rights. They have the Domain name of .tv that gets them some income from television companies that want to use .tv on their sites.
This made me teary eyed specially when you're about to leave and people just giving you necklaces, it's a sign of appreciation and acceptance in the community. I also love how the subscriber guy repeatedly hugs you as if he doesn't want you to leave yet lol, I kinda feel like that too when someone from other place is about to leave. Such a good experience there.
@@budgetking2591 So you're saying when you don't have vacation days or sick days left at your job just go? And get fired then have no money after blowing thousands on the trip? What kinda logic. Not to mention if they have families.

@tinylilmatt I just don't see it, man. It's quite a distance and what - three? (at least) planes for most to get there. If this video causes a potentially devastating uptick in tourist numbers I would be quite surprised.
@UCOI6ZLNKwRvJVJvjTQo4vRQ considering every country in the world one way or another has access to the internet and their entire economy is based around the internet, I doubt that
Countries like these are the most memorable and life changing, you wouldn’t get emotional if you remember visiting a famous city but you would get emotional remembering a communal island like this.
Naief Alromi I know it probably sounds stupid, but New York was very communal for me and an amazing trip. I met so many kind, helpful people whilst there, went to so many famed places and it was just one of the best times of my life. Of course it wasn’t as communal or paradise-like as this island. After all, I never saw the majority of the people I met ever again due to the size of NYC but it was very emotional and I made so many good memories whilst there. So, no. I’m sorry to say it but you’re wrong.
Visiting a big city is a very different experience but it can be just as big a memory. My personal trip to Tokyo was one of the most life changing experiences of my life, and I believe this is true for many people
This was the most wholesome, beautiful, the world is wonderful video filled with such welcoming lovely people from an amazing culture. I just felt so happy you got to experience that throughout the whole video 🥰
My heart broke a bit when the guy said: I need more people around me man, I want people to come visit me and this place... Damn bro he looked so happy for you guys to come :(
They should build a platform to be their new home when the water rises. They could start building the supports now while they have dry ground to work with!
This has been happening for over 10,000 years. At one time Northern europe and Canada where covered in ice. France and UK were connected by land. (Doggerland) Very sad but unless you can cause an ice age the volcano will go back under water.
The most wholesome and heartwarming travel video I have ever seen so far. I thought Nauru, another Pacific Island country was the least visited country before. It's my lifelong dream to go to those beautiful islands. If only they were not that far away from the lands we lived in, they'd be having more guests, though they might not have been this beautiful if that happened.
Yeah, I’d be super anxious. I’m I’ll and can’t ever travel to most of the world anyway, so I don’t think I’d actually ever get into a situation like that, solo in another country, so far from home, when someone else calls over at you, maybe angry, maybe upset. Yikes. I’m so glad they do this though; the world is such a big place and despite son,any cultural differences, it’s all just.., people, living. So cool.
lovely video, felt so happy watching it. Reminded me of a few trips I made in the mid 90s to Samoa (Western Samoa at the time). The same sense of community and sharing. The same happy faces and kindness. Even the same greeting: Tofa! (Which, if I remember correctly, was an abbreviation of "Talofa"). Obviously these countries share a common history. I've always longed to return.

@@vishwajeetyaduraj7871 What are you trying to say?

All that unfished water can bring them lots of money. Theres many ways they can make money from trade and still keep a free trade within the Islands. They should get to go to another similar island
