@@KevinMayerYT Drew has been to every country in the world - literally all 197 of them. They used a clip from his Turkmenistan video at the beginning. It's a good one. Go check it out.
We, people in Turkmenistan saying "Myhman atandan uly (17:10)" wich translates guests a higher than your father and it literally means that you are taking care of your guests as good as you taking care of your father. I am amazed by watching this video, thank you guys for showing these to the all world!
8 years into it, and the entire Yes Theory crew is still into the idea with all of their hearts. You can see that this is not just a job, not just a channel for any of them, it's not about money or fame. It is a way of life, and everything they are preaching they are showing by example. Thank you for going out of your comfort zone so we can too. Thank you for showing that a rejection is not the end of the world and that love and honesty go further than everything. Thank you for listening to the community's voice, as we will always be here to spread the word.
This comment made my day, I read a negative comment earlier this morning on Instagram that really got to me these last few hours. I try not to get baited by these negative comments and chose not to respond, but sometimes they really sting and chip away at your day. I decided I'd rather take my time to respond to someone who actually does see what we do and appreciates it and this was the first comment I landed on. So, thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful message, it went a long way today. Sending love back your way my friend - Thomas
@@YesTheory it seems to me like a classic case of desire driven cowardice. They see you living your dream and your purpose, even when it gets tough, and hate the fact they don't have the courage to seek their own discomfort. negativity is cheap and easy. What you bring to the world is priceless. I really hope you do a good job promoting that book because the world needs it badly.
@@clray123The wedding is truly Turkmen wedding as a Turkmen I can confirm. People of Turkmenistan is naive , kind hospitality is in our blood. Government and people of Turkmenistan are completely different!! We are prefer peaceful sky and prosperity rather than war and destruction.
@@Nazik-ur9zr Of course the wedding was traditional, but the question is whether the invitation just happened spontaneously or there was some hidden "helping hand" from some officials in order to show the vloggers how "welcoming" their country is. I mean, if there wasn't, this sort of party could cause problems for the hosts, what if the invited were some foreign spies/journalists looking to ridicule the great Turkmen people?
@@clray123I am from Turkmenistan , no way secret service actually don’t like this exposure lol . People are dark af.. yes Turkmens are spontaneously hospitable
Being a turkmen myself it made my heart warm watching this. Thank you guys a lot for making this trip and for posting this video. This is so precious. Thank you for capturing these moments, this is such a turkmen experience. Thanks for showing this to the world. I truly do believe the best part of Turkmenistan is it’s people with their genuine hospitality and humility.
I am disabled from my belly button down, and recently diagnosed with cervical cancer. I’m not able to travel. It’s always been a dream of mine though! But through your RUclips videos I feel like I’m able to experience the world, and that brings me so much peace. Thank you guys for doing what you do
Hey, this may sound really stupid, but because I don't know much about being disabled from belly button down nor do I know anything about cervical cancer, if its a dream of yours I really wish you could have the chance (whenever you can) to experience it. It really is a way I felt like I could relieve myself. I apologize if this is of any offense, but I hope for the best for you now and for you in the future
This country makes me wonder if in an alternate reality we worked with the Native Americans instead of colonizing the America's how similar would they be to this country in the modern day?
We had an exchange student from Turkmenistan. It was amazing getting to know her, hear her stories, and connect with someone from a completely different culture. Loved seeing this video and seeing a little more into her world.
I'm so happy my son showed me this channel. I can't get enough! I've been sick for a long time & didn't get to travel like I wanted to. I've never even been out of the US or on an airplane. I'd love to go anywhere but if I had to pick I would say Japan, Australia or Ireland. I lost both kidneys when I had my son (I was only 28) I stayed on dialysis for 13 long years. I also went through breast cancer when I was 30. Praise God I received a kidney transplant 5 years ago & I am still cancer free. I'd love to travel but it is impossible on my income. I will just continue to watch your videos and feel my heart smile everytime. 😊❤
You are a fighter! Maybe you can so a nice trip in your area at least. During COVID i discovered Lots of beautiful places in my neighborhood I Had never Seen before
Thank you guys SO much for looking past fears & anxieties about a country that is so closed off to the rest of the world. I have several good friends from Turkmenistan who I have met from living in Eastern Europe. Of course the country & government has its reputation, BUT the people of Turkmenistan are some of the warmest, friendliest, & funniest people you’ll ever meet. I’m SO glad that you guys were able to capture this. Thanks for what you do!
If the people are so friendly and giving, then the government must be decent, unless this was staged, but all things considered, it seemed legit. I do like that the concept of "oneness" was brought up, because we are one people of earth. One love
The women (even married older ones) are loose; notice how at 16:30 and 13:20 that Turkmen woman was DANCING with one of the Yes Theory guys despite being married, he had to edit it out because I'm guessing they made physical contact as well. Even in Turkmenistan, women aren't loyal to their husbands.
@@ruslanibragimov4991 Stop writing pics of shit. I am from Turkmenistan. This is a wedding. We are a secular county and everyone is allowed to do what is common everywhere. She might not be married though.
I assume this is universally human since I see it so much, so yes even as an American, we in the most remote parts of the US even feel this. I grew up in one of the most isolated regions of the US & we don’t even have much public land - it’s isolated entirely because hardly anyone wants to live here! In my hometown, other than oil booms when it turns into a dystopian nightmare for a few years, if anyone from another country came to town, we knew and wanted to meet them & show them that this is America, too. Mostly people are a bit disappointed, we’re just like them lol, without the city infrastructure, we’re not the First World Dream most people imagined. I live in the prairie part of Montana, ironically the Yellowstone region but the show has messed up that! Haha to the people who end up on the scrub prairie tho, do your research (the region the show is set in is actually called Paradise Valley and it is filmed near a completely different region near Missoula. We’re the size of a small-medium country, but only 1M people & still more rural than urban/suburban)
This feels a lot like your original type of content, that's what made me fall in love with your channel in the first place. Showing the other side of places and cultures, that usually seem to not be considered as travel destinations. I want to travel all over the world, but my next dream destination would be Tromso Norway :)

What is it that is unsettling these ''very few'' to lie to you? Come learn about it at ''folder 2'' and exit the matrix. ;)
Although I’m very new to the channel(this is the 2nd video), I get the impression being invited to a random wedding is right up their alley. Their openness and kindness is infectious.
It's clearly your positive energy and willingness to be flexible and look for any opportunity to engage with locals that allows you to connect so well and open up these experiences to thousands of others! Thank you!
This is hands down the best explore/travel video I have seen on RUclips, and I watch a lot of them. The message at the end makes it all the better. Thank you!
That wedding part was absolutely insane. You guys are single-handedly changing the way the world looks at other countries. Watching the news can easily distort our perception of reality, but at the end we're all people. P.S. - Dream trip would be Japan, so here's the comment. Thank you guys!
Being a citizen of Turkmenistan and currently an expat in Vietnam, this video is by far something I am looking forward to watch and the fact that you, guys, visited my country and made this video already gives me goosebumps! I am sure I will enjoy every second of it and it will help me feel myself back in the streets of Ashgabat!!! Well done, Yes Fam!
obviously it was quite challenging at first, especially lack of food that I had been used to, but after having lived in Vietnam for 4 years I can assure you that I feel like home here now and those obstacles just have faded away@@danneytee
I grew up on a tiny island in the Western Pacific called Tinian (population ~3,000) which played a huge role in ending WWII, but many people don’t know about it aside from history buffs or relatives of veterans who served during the war. As a subscriber and mental health service provider for school-aged children, I’ve always loved your content and how you spread awareness on the importance of connection. Making positive connections can be a huge source of strength during tough times. A dream destination is Jeju Island in Korea because of its beauty, culture, and food. I’ve always been fascinated by the haenyo (women divers) and would love to see them in action too.
OMG man, seeing the wedding was hilarious and so cool, but you playing with those kids at the end was so sweet and simple it brings tears to my eyes. So beautiful! I loved how it took the tour guide a little while to figure you guys out but in the end he was laughing along with you all. All the lovely people in this were so inspiring ❤
Wow. How beautiful & kind those people were who invited you to their wedding. Love how respectful and invested you each are in these trips. We will all miss you, Matt!
Absolutely thrilled to watch the video! Being from Kazakhstan, I couldn't help but have a huge smile throughout, as our cultures with Turkmenistan people are so similar. It's incredible to see these hidden gems showcased and appreciated. I loved the message you guys are giving at the end of the video. As for my dream destination, it's Reykjavik. There's something about the charm and beauty of Iceland that captivates my imagination. Its virgin unique nature is breathtaking.
This is a place I never thought I needed to see. It is awesome. Thank you for taking the trip and having the adventure. Your monologue at the end was oh so true and a great reminder of what's important. Thank you for your work.
I went on a road trip with my dad from the UK to Turkmenistan, back in 2011. The night before we crossed from Iran , I remember we were camped on a faceless brown, dusty mountain overlooking the Turkmen border , with only a phone mast for company next to our Land Rover. We had just experienced 3 days of exceptional welcome and friendliness while in Iran, but nothing could prepare us for the contrast to come. After crossing the border, we were first instructed to wash our vehicle, because "dirty vehicles in Ashgabat get $100 fines". We were accompanied by a government minder for the next three days. As per this video, the streets were spectacular, with gleaming white (often facade) buildings adorning their edges. We saw many of the monuments profiled here as well as the national stadium (I think $600m build), while golden statues to the "great leader" at every turn were especially memorable. It was utterly bizarre being somewhere so empty - I remember seeing a set of 20 x school children dressed in long, floating red robes who were ushered away from us as the only 'group' of people we saw during our whole trip . I also remember being able to use the Internet in a public cafe, but only if we handed our passports over first. The first hotel we went to was "fully booked for the UN" despite clearly being entirely empty. At the next hotel , the grand entrance was betrayed by a delabitated interior and half furnished rooms. We were also ushered back to the hotel by secret police around midday on Day 2 - being informed the president drives through the centre of the city then and does not like to see people on the streets or foreign vehicles (we also had to "hide" our vehicle behind the hotel). Turkmenistan's infrastructure is incredibly impressive and you will not find a "cleaner" city, but I've never felt more unwelcome, or seen such centralized and narcissistic power from a leader seemingly drunk on the power afforded him through resources, propaganda and Russians political influence. I felt and feel sorry for the Turkmen people, living under such a shadow, in the midst of one of the worlds most exceptional city centres. I remember my dad's frustration that I couldn't just enjoy the experience more, rather than critiquing it via a juvenile Western lens - a frustration towards myself I now share. My dad drove on into Uzbekistan , while I flew back from Ashgabat to the UK. It would turn out to be the last trip we'd do together. I remember sitting next to a Japanese woman on the plane (in the extractive sector), who could see my irritation. I explained my sense of perplexity towards the veneration bestowed on the Turkmen leader, to which she referenced the Japanese Emperor. The experience changed my world view and although I didn't "enjoy" the city it's a totally underexplored region of the world (speaking from a Western perspective) which deserves enquiry and attention.
No, you had every right to be irritated and frustrated in a narcissistic regime. From the videos I have seen of Turkmenistan, the people are lovely but the regime and government is terrible. Too authoritarian and the main reason why I won't visit until things have changed dramatically. Same with North Korea.
"We live in a time in the world right now where fear has been slowly dripping like poison into the veins of society pulling us further and further apart. The rhetoric of Us Versus Them is rampant. The dehumanization of entire regions of the world feels commonplace and in the meantime it feels like the everyday person is left as the loser. Neighbors and cousins are pinned against each other forgetting we all once knew how to live peacefully." So beautiful. Thank you for sharing this video! More power to y'all! Love from Texas!
Wow so amazing to watch. My now husband and I were caught up in a wedding parade in Spain 34 years ago and we were invited to attend the wedding party. We were the only foreigners who were there and the first time they had met Australians. It still today remains one of the best experiences of my life. This story reignited that special occasion. Great story.
Loved how you guys embraced the beauty of their culture, most especially their people, no matter how “strange” the country has been from an outsider perspective ! You guys are awesome!

This was honestly one of your greatest videos to date. Not only did you go into a completely unknown and seldom traveled country, but you made friends with locals when almost no one was around, and discovered several beautiful sites. Your smiles and energies were amazing! Machu Picchu has always been a travel dream!
Growing up I learned nothing about Turkmenistan except that it had once been part of the Soviet Union. I really admire you guys for visiting and showing the world the beauty found in these places, not just the country but the people themselves.
I worked six months in Turkmenistan at the military shipyard during the construction of the Deniz Han corvette ship built by Turkey in the Caspian Sea. Since Turkmenistan people can understand Turkish, I did not have any difficulties in communication. Turkmen people are very hospitable and kind people. But many of them live on the edge of starvation. Although the government is rich and the income is high, most of people are very poor.
It was the choice of these people. While Turkmenistan was part of the Russian Empire and the USSR, there was no such poverty. The USSR developed all the republics and sponsored them a lot. Everyone lived in peace, prosperity, friendship, everyone had equal rights and opportunities for development. Now Asian countries have slipped into poverty and the Middle Ages. It was their choice. Moscow continues to develop without ballast
@@arturincloud9892 I don’t think being forced away from your culture and freedom to make your own independent decisions as a nation based around that culture is exactly peace and prosperity. This is obvious Russian propaganda.
@@lorribishop4801 Well! It works both ways. I hope you can then explain to me what the USA and other Western countries are doing when they impose LGBT and their democracy on the whole world, forcing everyone in the world to love something they don't want to love.

your story has made me feel happy in the morning, everyone wants to feel human and sometimes our personalities make us to be closed but its possible to break out of our shells if only we believe, I am a recovering alcoholic and without the crutch I suffer from social anxiety as I feel like I have no personality. But will attend yoga classes just to meet a new type of people. Love from kenya.
The woman at 16:30 (who we see again at 13:20) is like married (wedding ring) and 55, but still danced with that Yes Theory guy. Haram country. Even in the U.S., a woman loyal to her husband shouldn't dance with other guys.
@@ruslanibragimov4991 Why? In central/eastern Europe, including russia btw, that's normal. It's a dance, not sex lol. More than that, in Poland, especially at a wedding all the people, including the bride and groom are actually kind of expected to dance with everyone, family or friends, doesn't matter. Of course, you have different types of dances, and super slow dance is probably reserved for a couple, but any other type? Don't see why not.
Amazing how a government can be good to its people , instead of crying democracy and causing chaos ! America holds the record for the most prisoners and school shootings in the world !

@@PROVOCATEURSK Your question has nothing to do with my comment lmao… but I’ll answer you. In all Abrahamic religions, those who apostasy are heavily punished. In Christianity, you’ll be shunned, excommunicated, tortured, or have your civil rights suspended. In Judaism, you will be stoned to death. In Islam, you’ll get a lot of advice to turn back to your faith. If not, then similar to Judaism, death is your sentence. However, not by being stoned, which is a harsh way to die. Yes Theory never fails to make my day with their beautiful storytelling! I've done a few solo trips in the past year because of the inspiration I've gotten from this channel to seek discomfort, keep an open mind and heart, and choose love over fear. As for my dream destination, I can't wait to visit Mexico one day, especially the vibrant CDMX. Having learnt Spanish over the course of 6 years, and after having recently visited Spain, I've been itching to explore more of Latin America and fully immerse myself in the diverse cultures and traditions of the region!
Nice! Love the way you put this. And the fact that sometimes we should seek discomfort though theoretically uncomfortable it actually is the path to salvation. It’s interesting.
The message at the end was so freaking powerful. Almost got me tear up. Yes Theory is the only channel whose videos can make you laugh, cry, learn, and get inspired all in half an hour!
It was inappropriate and haram for that married woman at 31:20 to DANCE with the Yes Theory guys, Andrew Tate would laugh at her husband for letting her do that

I just get so happy from watching your videos! It reminds me of festivals, everyone are friendly, sharing food and drinks, talking, inviting you to parties and such. You don't see that in Western Europe like that, but Turkmenistan, China and other countries you've visited that are supposed to be "bad", people just are like this by default, I love it! And as a big LOTR fan I really appreciated that skit ♥️🤣
I’m from Kazakhstan (quiet close to where your are in this video!), and my absolute dream destination is Antarctica. One of the main reasons why I dream of going there is my fascination with penguins (don’t you all feel like a penguin sometimes, a beautiful sort of clumsy creature that cannot fly? Is it just me?😂) 🐧 Also coming from a landlocked country far away from any ocean, it’s quiet amazing to embark on a trip such as a trip to Antarctica! Flying to South America and then the southernmost part of the world, seeing the biggest penguin colony, and just getting to experience being on a virtually uninhabited continent… just thinking about it makes me feel excited.
Hopefully your dream will once fulfill! I would also be really interested in visiting Antarctica, just a beautiful natural place that hasn't been fully destroyed by people and the penguins sure are awesome! Greetings from Czech Republic

I think locals have this emotional joy they get when they see people from different countries come to their community

Well, thats an interesting perspective
right on, Prince Siddhartha.
No, you had every right to be irritated and frustrated in a narcissistic regime. From the videos I have seen of Turkmenistan, the people are lovely but the regime and government is terrible. Too authoritarian and the main reason why I won't visit until things have changed dramatically. Same with North Korea.
Wow.
Whu was this the last trip with your dad?
"We live in a time in the world right now where fear has been slowly dripping like poison into the veins of society pulling us further and further apart. The rhetoric of Us Versus Them is rampant. The dehumanization of entire regions of the world feels commonplace and in the meantime it feels like the everyday person is left as the loser. Neighbors and cousins are pinned against each other forgetting we all once knew how to live peacefully."

Awesome. We are heading to Istanbul next month. First time to turkey to vlog!

You guys never fail to show the spark of this beautiful world. You boys are real GEMS. Also, my dream destination is Lapland, Finland. Wish this dream comes true through you guys.
Wow this video blew me away!!! Well done and thank you for showing this. Very humbled by your shared experience🙂
I have to admit that I am floored by the genuine warmth of these people. Turkmenistan is definitely mind-blowing. Thank You for taking us all on such a memorable adventure. I married an AIR FORCE Brat 39 years ago who graduated in Kaiserslautern Germany. His family vacationed in Switzerland, and Paris. He learned to drive on the Autobahn and had a Fort Worth Attorney on retainer after returning to the States LOL. He has taken this Texas girl all over North America and one day he hopes to take me back to His heart's home KTown Germany. I think I'm going to give Magic AI a try.
@antbmao3 you have a great man! K-Town is an awesome experience and my hometown as well. Make sure to visit Switzerland if able to (Zermatt or Grindelwald) they are some of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.
I moved to Ajijic, Mexico 3 years ago from Illinois. Come!!! Mexico is marvelous amd they will love it that you speak some Spanish
The message at the end was so freaking powerful. Almost got me tear up. Yes Theory is the only channel whose videos can make you laugh, cry, learn, and get inspired all in half an hour!
our world is actually so united if only we got rid of politicians and leaders who want to divide us by ethnicity or religion
Not the only channel
The only channel? No.
That's the very true one
It was inappropriate and haram for that married woman at 31:20 to DANCE with the Yes Theory guys, Andrew Tate would laugh at her husband for letting her do that
The architecture is ridiculous and completely over-the-top, it's awesome that you got to explore such a unique place.
That wedding scene was something else. Such warm hospitality in an unexpected place!
Max telling them " if you don't go eating you'll get drunk" is so wholesome! hahaha like an uncle who doesn't want you to get shitfaced at a family party 🤣
hahaha trueee
Having Matt in these videos is such a gift! What a beautiful thing you do when you reveal the beauty, humanity, and goodness within each place you travel and people you meet 🙌🏻
I understand why he left, it's just sad because he was such a great addition to the team.
Turkmenistan , what an incredible Nation , incredible people , so much pride , I feel pride within myself just watching , seeing , how much proud and joyful the Turkmen Citizens have . I must say , Turkmenistan is so incredibly bespoke and esoteric , the content creators of this piece unintentionally take a back seat to their subject . This is one incredibly rare , I have watched this piece several times , Godspeed unto the people of Turkmenistan .
We ALL are aware that everything negative that happens across our worlds are politically driven. You are doing super good work in showing the NOT SO POLITICAL side of humanity! I do subscribe to many channels in RUclips, yours being one of them, but, after viewing few of your videos I can positively say that you are among the critically few vloggers who are doing justice to their work in a positive manner. Simple and sweet 😊
brilliant. every single thing about this video, from the kindness and warmth, of the citizens, to the captures of the land, it’s unique architecture and offerings, to the personal note at the end that resonated so deeply… just brilliant. you guys rock. from a fellow traveler, i thank you wholeheartedly!
Wow this country is HIGH on my list! Incredible video as always boys!
Hi here before it blows up lol
I want to Join
how to get viza maybe known only thees guys
I am here to help you if you ever decide to visit my country, Turkmenistan:)
@user-fh9hx8jh3g woud be interested how difficult it is to get into country is it expensive?
May your dream come true.
Wow, this video is an absolute gem! 🌍✨ Traveling to Turkmenistan seems like such a unique and incredible adventure. The wedding festivities were so vibrant and full of cultural richness - it's heartwarming to witness the beauty of traditions from around the world. And that natural fire burning for 52 years? Mind-blowing! Thanks for taking us along on this journey and showcasing the beauty of the "strangest" country on Earth. It's moments like these that make me appreciate the diversity and wonder our world has to offer. Keep exploring and sharing these amazing experiences! 🌟👏 #TurkmenistanAdventures #CulturalRichness #YesTheory
Very beautiful to see human experiences caught on camera like this, and grateful for the exposure you have brought to traveling and experiencing new things. Y’all make me want to go anywhere you visit that it’s made it hard to pick just one dream place. I’ve always wanted to visit China and their national parks or go north and see the northern lights and glaciers ✨ also excited to visit Turkmenistan one day as well 👀
The hospitality y'all encounter never ceases to amaze me. We are so blinded by the bad news we hear all the time that I am thankful that people like y'all prove otherwise.
I love how much more of an insight you gave to the country from the unique experiences of going to a wedding and seeing those kids! Thank you for continuously making these awesome videos!
I’ve been watching Yes Theory for a while now and have seen both Thomas’ and Matt’s growth. You guys helped me seek discomfort and explore life outside of boundaries I set because out of fear. Thank you for continuing to make amazing videos like this 🙌
Yeah, it’s sad they have to fake interactions like this one. They just happened to stumble upon a wedding party with a guy who speaks perfect English who happened to be able to invite them to attend the wedding?
Proof that people from any parts of the world can come together! ♥️I’m from Malaysia and I always dream to see snow for the first time my life, thus it has always been a dream for me to go a country with a snow.
And i can see snow falling from my window and just thinking about needing to go shop in the cold. Lol
Somehow, I had never seen your channel before. Thank you for showing us this amazing place with such welcoming, beautiful people. I'd never be brave enough to go there, but you did it for us all. Thank you.
I have never smiled so much whilst watching a random Utube travel Doc. Thanks for sharing your playful, joyful and happy experience with me and with those locals who obviously loved meeting you guys. I travelled a lot before I became disabled. My dream holiday destination and challenge for Magic is to visit the city most accessable and suitable for a non walker. Keep the videos coming guys!
same! so awesome!
Stumbled upon this channel a few years ago and i was amazed by you guys' story telling which made me watch every single one of your videos. Seeing you document your travels makes me also want to travel and meet different people and cultures. I'm from the Philippines, and i was always dreaming of travelling to Japan and Singapore as they are a few of my neighboring countries. I truly want to travel and learn outside my box and explore the rest of the world.
Episodes with Matt hit different... absolutely beautiful, good to see him here
Yoo crazy how you actually got into the ferris wheel lol coulda been sabatoged or broken. Wild. Great job seeking discomfort.
It’s great seeing Matt back in the videos, this was such a great video. If I had the opportunity to go anywhere in the world on a vacation, I would choose New Zealand. I’ve always been obsessed with how everything looks in photos and videos, but to experience it in first person would be astonishing.
Hello from New Zealand!
New Zealand is truly astonishing
Lord of the Rings movie!
