Get rid of the fusion before it fails you. My 07 is on it's last dying breath at 150K miles, 5 mechanics later and it's got so many problems it's best use in life is scrap metal.
@@domenik8339 Your timing is crazy... My axle boot has been seeping for over a year and I cant get it fixed due to rust. Gonna junk it next week. Made it 176k miles though. She was good to me.
It's good to see younger generation fixing their own cars, also maybe test radio before you put it all back together, never know what you're going to get out of a junkyard. Great video though, keep up the good work.
@Merrick Kent. I have a 2006 Ford Fusion and mine has 378k kms. If you take care of the car it will last a long time. I have the Fusion with the 4 cylinder 2.3 Liter Duratec engine. In my opinion it’s a very good car.
I just bought my first car from a friend. Turns out the display is dead and has a CD with three songs from 2009 jammed in it. Soooo glad I found this as it's a 2006 fusion 😁 I'm planning on installing something from this decade though as I got a taste of it with my Bluetooth adapter, which is a bitch to tune as there's no display telling me which channel I'm on 😂 So glad it's easier than I thought it would be 👍🏼
Oh man, I definitely need one of those good working 6 CD players for my Ford Fusion cuz mine doesn’t work, looked everywhere in junkyard, no one has it. Wow this guy got for $15 !!!!! Great job buddy!
i have a question my brotha... do you know if i can get parts from a 2006 fusion into a 2009 fusion? my car burned down because of an accident i had last month... the mechanic that is doing my car said you need to go to a junk yard and get the "engine wiring harness" my ford is a 2009 v6 3.0 SEL......
Was there any anti-theft code/dealer flashing to be done to make the new/used radio work? We’re looking to pick one up off eBay? Is it just drop and play? Thanks
A Year late but there is no separate fuse. However if you look there is a very common issue with solder point failures on these ford radios and its a very easy solder job.
That is not what my 2008 face of the dash where radio is looks like. Mine is silver and larger, It's not the same do I pop the face off like you showed in your video? I wanted to change mine out due to broken CD player. Looks easy except the face/cover is different. Mine has chrome accents on it.
Heard you replaced your radio for a blank display problem. There is a RUclips video on how to repair it. Almost always a loose solder joint on the resistors. Took me 1/2 hour to fix after watching the video. Search “Ford stereo no display repair” for that video. It’s for a 2008 Ford Edge which uses same radio.
I bought it a while ago off of Wish but you can get them a lot of places. You could use a thin flat head and cover it with some tape to make sure you don't scratch the trim good luck!
I have the same car and the 6 disc changer keeps spinning when the car is off (player isn’t working). Can I disconnect it this way to avoid draining the battery? @DannyDoItAll
Just replaced the battery on my 2008 Fusion but now it seems like there isn’t any power going to radio. Not sure if there’s a radio code or not, any tips?
I know this is a late but if all the plugs are properly connected/battery connections and make sure that the fuse for the radio isn't blown. If it's not then if you have a multimeter check to see that you are getting power to the plug. If you do have power at the plug then the radio may be bad. Hopefully you have resolved this already good luck.
Hey Danny, I test drove this exact vehicle at a local used car dealer. It had the same radio. Could you please tell me if it has an auxiliary jack/input plug. I forgot to check. Thanks. Excellent all around video btw
I have the 2006 ford fusion and they do not have the auxiliary input, but in the 2007 and later years they started putting them in the center console storage bin. Thank you
It's not on the radio it's in the center compartment by the shift stick, hidden away. Honestly I'd just get someone to install a modern bluetooth cd player
@@sarahd1824 I ended up buying a Pioneer FH-S501BT from Best Buy and scheduling them to install it which was included free at the time. They only did it on the weekends so I had to wait awhile. It's great how well it works and was totally worth 99 bucks.
I know nothing about cars. Is that the only way to fix it? My stereo (the 08 model) has stopped working completely. No power to stereo or sync technology. Is it a fuse or is it the stereo module itself?
I would check to see if it is a fuse that has blown since you are not getting any power to the stereo. Then make sure that the power is reaching the back of the stereo with a multimeter. If it is and you still aren't getting anything than replace it. You can find cheap used ones in good condition at a salvage yard. Good Luck.
