    I like that whenever Queen Elizabeth attends a wedding, the bride is followed by _eight_ children under the age of ten. So many American Brides ban children from their weddings, missing the central point of the ceremony.

      Lol I’m American, just got engaged, and am banning children from our wedding, not because I don’t like them, but because I don’t want our ceremony to be messed up by a crying baby or a toddler throwing a tantrum. I don’t want to look at our wedding video years later and hear a baby crying during our vows. I already know I will get some pushback because of this, but I’m not a terrible person. Our ceremony is going to be held in the Episcopal church (the American branch of the Church of England) that I’ve always attended, with glorious traditional music, including beautiful Anglican hymns. I don’t want a little kid to mess up the solemnity of that space. The central point of the wedding ceremony is two people coming together to mirror Christ and the church. It is a sacred event and should be treated as such. I’ve been to too many weddings where some baby or little kid just wouldn’t shut up or stop crying during the ceremony and would distract people from the couple. There is no way I’m going to let that happen to me and my fiancé.

      @@DrunkLuna Its difficult isn't it- I adore children but young babies won't be at our wedding mostly due to that reason. Children are welcome however :) They can be present at the wedding breakfast and evening function after all :) There is nothing worse than a baby screaming through your vows... I have been to a few weddings where they have. Its harder to concentrate for the Bride and Groom. x

    • @DrunkLuna

      @@AECEntertainment a wedding ceremony is most certainly NOT public, it is by invitation only. A bride and groom have every right to ban children if they want to. A wedding is the one day of a woman’s life when she can have everything exactly the way she wants it. As a bride who’s getting married in a month, I can tell you right now that anyone who shows up at our church with a child will be turned away at the door, as our wedding website clearly states that our wedding will be an adults-only event so there will be no confusion. If you can’t respect the wishes of the bride and groom, then don’t come. Many families spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to ensure that everything looks perfect. Who wants a little kid running around messing with elaborate floral arrangements, touching the cake, whining because there’s no damn chicken nuggets, etc.? Not me. I think the fuck not.

    This tune was written in 1941 - at the height of the Nazi Bombing Blitz. Since then, the employment of this tune has somewhat supplanted the older tune, Austria, as the anti German pulse of the time demanded it. I find it hard to believe that even in WW 1, the tune Austria was still used, even though it the national anthem of two Central Powers at war with The British Empire.

    • @bpeper1365
      @bpeper1365 Месяц назад +1

      The tune was used by Haydn after a journey to England and wanting also a God Save the King style hymn for the Austrian emperor. So Austria-Germany and England have been sharing so much for so long. It was the greatest tragedy that they went to war against each other.
