margarethennessey, come to the church of Christ and you will actually HEAR those beautiful hymns sung as they are supposed to be sung, ACAPELLA! That means without all those musical instruments drowning out the worshipers voices!

@@mikegross6107musical instruments are not bad, as the church of Christ infers from the Book of Amos 5 verse 23, the Scripture doesn't contradict Scripture, the Book of Psalm 150 says we should praise God with instruments, The instruments do not praise God themselves, but we are enjoined to praise God with them.
I do not get what the current ministers of the gospel think. Why cannot they take a step in this very basic need for the whole faithful followers.
Some of these noise making so called Campuses should listen to this and listen to the lyrics. This is worship from the heart to a Holy and Righteous God.
I have a prodigal daughter, who, when she first realized she could sing this was the song she saying over and over and over again. Please, someone pray for my daughter to want to sing this song again from her heart, and come back to her Lord and Savior and the mother, who loves her so very very much!!!
I ask you Lord grant to this young daughter dreams and visions and a spiritual awakening dreams and visions filling her with the Holy Spirit convicting her of her sins bringing her to repent and except Jesus Christ as her Lord and saviour Amen and Amen ❤️🙏🏻

Church like it was when I was growing up - multigenerational, solid, real. Truly AUTHENTIC. Even if we were poor, we put on our best clothes to go to church because we were going to worship the Creator of the universe! Respect. Church was different from the world - and how wonderful it was!

Our church is still like that.
You don’t wear jeans to the wedding or funeral people need to put on there bast clothes to going to church and worship the Lord my old church back home the men of the church would wear the suit and tie and they were full of the spirit and they were not afraid to lift their hands to the Lord Jesus Christ
This is how church should be. It's reverence for God.

Wow!!! I grew up hearing this song and it automatically became one of my most favourite gospel song. Back in my island, some churches only play or sing "Old Rugged Cross" at funerals but thank God that in the church I attend, it is sung or played on Communion Sundays as well. My emotions run high and chills run through my body whenever I hear "Old Rugged Cross" 🎶 Hallelujah🙏

This song was first sung in its entirety, in Pokagon, Michigan. As a 10-year-old boy my buddy's and I would play around and in this dilapidated building, Never realizing it would one day become one of the most recognized hymns in the world. It has been renovated to its original beauty.

So sad that there are no churches like that exist in my local area. I can't attend church here in Mossel-bay as they resemble night clubs and behave like clowns. I long to be able to worship my Lord and sing these beautiful hymns with sincere Christians so I join in and make my own joyful memories. I'm sure you do the same.
