- Had a hard start condition in this c4 Corvette with unexpected solution. turned out to have a unexpected fuel pressure or flow issue resulting in the extended crank.
Forgot to mention, when testing a pump in fuel I recommend using something less volatile and less vapors then gasoline. I like to use diesel fuel or make sure it's in a cool well vented area to reduce vapors.

That's why I tuned in, to see how to take it out. Nice video anyway.
Please don't use alligator clips on the terminals inside the bucket of gasoline! If one came off and arced it would be bad news!
It will never light while submerged in fuel. Raw fuel is not flammable it's the fumes mixed with oxygen that cause the fire. Fuel pumps use a brushed motor that has fuel flowing across the brushes, all brushed motors arc while they are in use.

Right but it wasn't submerged or in a sealed tank... It was in a mix of vapor and oxygen. That was my concern. If that clip slipped you could be in bad shape.
I see where you submerged it initially but pulling and tugging appears that it came above the surface. Just be careful. 😁
that part is called a Fuel Pump Pulsator,,,,i had some from work .. had to use one on my 84 fiero as the hose split an just made it home i used it as it wont split ,,hope that helps it is use to cut noise..
Cool thanks for helping me learn. That makes sense, is there some sort of spring diaphragm in the thing that helps to reduce noise?
@@CrazedPerformanceRepair we had them in the model shop at delco..spent 32 years on all kids of jobs ,,never took one apart they are not cheep for the oem ones
Well shoot maybe I'll see if I tossed it to garbage man or not yet. If I still have it I'll pull it apart.
I'm sorry but it seems to me that you should put in a high perf pump specific to the car and year, and not solder/modify another pump not made for that vehicle year and jury rig wiring, etc. just because you have the pump laying around...especially when it's a customer's car.
Thank you for a great video and very informative 👍🏻 Amazing...! I have a 95 C4 with 95,000 miles and the engine makes a popping sound when the motor is in full Throttle... like it's not getting enough fuel... so I changed the original Fuel Filter and the Electric Fuel Pump and it still does it... the new electric fuel pump is a (Percision Fuel Pump Kit)....Any ideas?
I have a 1988 C4, when I start mine up I hear this humming sound that sounds after the start. Almost sounds like a cat that's leveling. Then the sound goes away. I wonder if it's the fuel pump going out because after I start it it doesn't run strong. I've already changed the spark plugs, wires too.
Can you show us how you just the fuel pressure from the fuel regulator??? Thx
Please i have corvette 1992 c4 what is the beast fuel pumb i have to replace just give the name or the code number for the parts. I will order it from ebay thank you

Delphi is original GM part brand.
Stay gold.
You'll want to look at Racetronix website.
I wrote to you on your website, can you prepare the same set up for me, box and send, I need by the end of Feb.
This was a one off situation with a part that happened to be sitting around from a c6. You can do it yourself if you get a pump though.
I think you dont know beans about a C4 Corvette & are trying to learn on the customers dime,ie switch out the fuel relay first or jump the wire.
Fuel relay was fine, pump was weak. If you watched the video you would know this.
LOL, if you watch more of his videos you will see his knowledge of GM systems is excellent.
Stay gold.
Very hacky!
That c6 pump is for a different engine altogether.
