Staff I found this video and it was from a year ago and the fact that you didn’t take the time and make all the plates kind of perfect and as you gather them as she went down the shirt it creates such a different and such a cool affect when the colors split. I think that’s what makes along with the colors for sure, the uniqueness of this shirt. I’m so glad I found it. And it’s kind of fun to go back in time and look at early videos of you professionals and see how far you’ve come. Because you have become a master at the art of tie-dye. I hope you always leave the old ones up.
I can’t watch the first tutorials. I get super embarrassed at how awful they are. I didn’t have any lighting and was clueless as to editing. I was really uncomfortable talking so I sound ridiculous. I was trying to be someone I’m not. What you see and hear now is the real me. I do love this shirt. It was in the first 25 shirts I had ever made. I only had a few dyes… I won’t delete them because we all have to start somewhere. If I can produce these so can anyone. Like you said, it shows how far I’ve come. Next year we will look back at today and hopefully there will be some growth. 😉 Maybe not, I’m pretty comfortable with my style. I make things that I enjoy making. Back then I was still trying to figure it out. I know for sure I prefer ice dyeing. ❤️🌈
Amazing results. This is my first time seeing this technique and I got to say it pretty simple. Thank you for posting this video. The shirt is beautiful.
This is gorgeous! What is in the gutter besides the shirt? The tool and is that a rag? Do those just hold the shirt in place? Do you wash and/or dry the shirt after you rinse? (I have never ice dyed before)
That is a dye towel so I don’t have to fill the gutter full of ice. I now use foil. Yes I was and dry the shirts. Ice dyeing is fun. ❤️🌈 ruclips.net/video/OidwD2at7iE/видео.html
I usually see u add soda ash “for good measure” 😂😂 at the end but I didn’t see it in this video. Will it make a difference if I add extra soda ash either above or below the ice?
Celestial flash freeze epicness! As a person who has never made a tie dye, but has a the desire to dive right in to next level design,hehehe...can this type of design be achieved by using Tulip One Step Dye and mimicking your steps. Only without the powdered dye and ice method? Super curious, because it's Amazing and it's the only product I've got. Thank you or anybody else who has a second to reply ;) Keep up the great work, that piece of art made me sub.
You can use the tulip kit as an ice dye. You can also liquid dye on an incline but it will be different looking. There is no right or wrong way to apply dye. You can do liquid over ice for a different effect. Just have fun while doing it. Thanks for the sub! ❤️🌈
@@BelladonnaDyesCo You're very welcome! That's great news, I appreciate your reply and knowledge. If the overalls i make turn out any kind of awesome I will share the result with you 😉
steph thanks for the incline tutorials. i never really liked ice dye until i started incline i learned from you i think you have an ice maker.could you tell me the particulars on purchasing one?tia
I love ice dyeing! The colors are so amazing! It was either me or Fun Endeavors that you learned from. I learned from her. My favorite ice is the nugget ice. Here’s the link. ❤️🌈 Nugget Ice Maker: amzn.to/31pihNt
The color splits and the flows. Liquid dyeing is a solid color. Ice dyeing creates looks like this. I have over 400 videos. Look around and see if you find more things you like. The more you watch the easier it will be to understand. 😊❤️🌈
do you have a video that shows the first string wrap and the entire string wrap process? I have never seen anyone start the first string wrap, and next part the entire shirt is string wrapped.
This was one of my first videos… they improved from here. I have many side fanfold tutorials where I explain & show the entire process from start to finish. ❤️🌈
Out of curiosity, howcome you "double wrap" the sinew around it? And so tightly... I've seen it done both ways - barely tight rubberbands, and super tight sinew. I just don't quite understand the difference in methods. (just getting started with "real" tie dying...not just a basic spiral or bullseye. LOL) Thanks for your videos! They're fantastic.
Sinew creates the white lines. It’s a wax string that resists dye. If it isn’t pulled tightly the dye will bleed. Watch some of my heart tutorials. It might help you better understand. Have fun playing around. That’s how we learn. ❤️🌈
Wow , that is really beautiful and unique ! The colors are just wonderful and the star like points in the circles ! 🤩 I dont have any of those colors but could i get a similar effect with turquoise , great grape and a dark blue or even fushia ? Ive got to try this !!! Ive been looking for a color combination like that but im just getting started and inventory is 12 colors so far 😊 , Btw , i love your work !!!! Beautiful 🎨🌈☔
Hi, Kristi! Go for it. That will be a pretty color combination. Just know that turquoise and fuchsia red are the primary colors and they don’t split. On an incline they will still streak though. 12 colors is a good start. Keep adding a few here and there and before you know it you’ll have all the colors. I’m glad you like watching. I’m happy to hear it. 😁❤️🌈
Since i want my shirt to turn out just like yours , im going to wait until i order more dye . Then ill try to do it like your design ! I love your work so much ! Im still slow doing my tie dyes but ill get there ! Thanks a bunch for helping me !!!
The gutter? Lowes. It’s vinyl gutter in strips about 10’ long. I cut it down with a saws all to manageable pieces. About 3’. ❤️🌈 www.lowes.com/pd/Amerimax-Contemporary-4-in-x-120-in-White-Half-Round-Gutter/1000246365
Thank you, Andrew! Are you referring to the gutter? That white thing is vinyl gutter that I picked up from Lowe’s. I used a hacksaw to cut it down into manageable strips. ❤️🌈

@@BelladonnaDyesCo can you give me a rough idea of how much dye you use for the average shirt? I would LOVE to try this technique but want an idea of quantity.
@@ShannonLea1218 It really depends on the project. You see I use picnic spoons. Maybe 1 tsp to 2 tsp. It’s not a lot. If you’re wondering what to buy from Dharma, I would start with the 2 oz size until you know what colors you like. I hope this helps. ❤️🌈

Thank you so much! It really is unique. The color runs got extra pointy. Like ice. I have no idea why that happened. Happy accidents!! 🥰❤️🌈
So i bought urea because it was recommended, when do you include it in the process
I don’t use urea with ice dyes. Watch my liquid mixing tutorials. ❤️🌈

Do you use sinew or kite string? And did you use a gutter on an angle for the shirt? Or is that the top portion of the blinds shell?
Both. For this kite string or rubber bands. The gutter is on an angle. I have many tutorials on this method. ❤️🌈
