Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I love the randomness of "tie-dye" but I also love this sharing community. What a great combination!
You have such a chill, relaxing/comforting demeanor. Really enjoyed the vid, very informative, keep up the good work!
I ball up aluminum foil and use it under my project! Great vid.
Corky, thank you so much for making the tutorial and demonstrating how you made the original t-shirt mentioned in the video. I have loved that shirt from the moment I first saw it. I tried (unsuccessfully) to recreate it. I knew that is impossible from experience, but one can try. Still love that shirt and will try again! 😊 Thanks for the great video! The fleece idea was genius!
I really like this technique… I’m going to go look through my old blankets and see if I have something I can use!
I hope you have fun with it! 😁
That is so awesome!!! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us.
Thank you!! I appreciate the love
Heres a thought...what if the under fabric you use is a vinyl table cloth? You know the kind with a flannel backing. Non absorbent so you get more flow, stiff enough to hold a shape. Might give more details in the "valleys" . Thanks for all the effort you put in to make a great video!
You are a true scientist. Love your videos. God bless always. ❤
Thank you so much for the kind comment 😊
Beautiful shirts! I love the video absolutely loved it! I can't wait for your next long video I love them. You are so good at explaining all of the technique. Thank you so much!
I really appreciate your comment!! Thank you for watching and letting me know it was helpful!
I think that horizontal placement would have been excellent if you used indigo on top and midway down. Can't wait to see more of your videos. And, Corky, I vote ALWAYS for longer videos in the name of SCIENCE and DETAILS. I love your attention to detail!
Corkyyyyy! I have no-pressure missed you!
You are so sweet and perceptive to phrase it that way. It’s like you know my demand avoidance will kick in with pressure.😅😅
I always appreciate seeing your comments and thoughts! ❤️
@@corkylorenz I hang out in enough ND communities to know that it's no bueno to say some things 😅 I am going through it with my daughter's demand avoidance, for sure. 😬
I love you for this, your content is so appreciated
Heyyy, thank you so much!! 🥰
They are both AMAZING! I prefer the ice dye method over the other methods.
Thank you!! 🥰
Watching your mind work is amazing! I appreciate the experimentation you share. You've saved me so much time! You are the bomb, girl!
Thank you!!! I could not figure out what I was doing wrong with the TDS. I love the flow effects, but I wasn’t getting what I wanted. I watched your tutorial and tried the fleece. OMG! It works great! Thank you for sharing your experience. You rock! Thank you!
Thank you for such great detail. You are right, seeing is understanding a lot more. I was NOT getting the tall deep scrunches concept at all! I learned a lot.
Awesome! I’m glad to know that seeing it was helpful. Sometimes it feels weird to demo was I know because I forget what it’s like to not be familiar with it. I hope you have fun with it!
🥰TYSM for taking the time to make and share your tips!!! You are giving me confidence to try a flowy T again!!! 🩷🌈
From the few gravity dyes I've done, I've noticed that diagonal dye placement makes really interesting splits and flows
I’m glad you mentioning that! I do think diagonal has potential here 🤩
Thanks for this! I do the TDS w wiffle balls but I love the idea of things being stable and staying where I want this.
Thank you!!
I think they turned out great and great video thanks for sharing😁✌️
Thank you for watching!! ❤️
Thank you so much for your video. Definitely going to try the t-shirt!! Your work is absolutely beautiful!!!!
Thank you for watching and letting me know you enjoyed the video!!
How I love your videos!! I learn soo much, thank you for the inspiration. Big lego was a great idea aswell😁👍 will try it and big crunch for flow, so beautiful both of them. So kind of you to share. Hope you did get a good sleep afterwards😉
You are so sweet to mention sleep. 🥰 and thank you for your encouraging comments. I’m always glad to see your name pop up!
I love this blanket method that you’ve been experimenting with. I have wondered about using thicker fabric underneath but have yet to try it. You have moving the needle and helping push me in that direction for those flowy, watercolor looks.
Another question, what ice maker do you use? I would love to get something small installed in my garage so I’m reducing my use of Costco ice and gas station ice. It’s so pricey over time!
This is so good!!! Thank you so much!!!!
love the one youre wearing too
Thank you!! That one was a cold mist shirt.
I totally get what you mean about the color placement. I seldom use wasabi because I cant find what to pair it with to give more detail and flowy look. I think and its just me wasabi is an awful color. Looking forward to your vid on color placements. These in the video did come out nice.
I know it's probably stuff you just found but, I would really like some links if you have them to the plastic tote, metal baskets, and those cooling racks that had legs if possible. Also, do you reuse the fleece?
Thank you so much for sharing your techniques!!❤
I will go search to see if o can find the equivalent bins and racks. Yes, I do reuse the fleece! 🥰
Beautiful! Do you happen to remember the dye color(s) you used on the shirt you show at 15:22?
Thank you
Hi just came across your vid, love ur wk 😍 Question, why the mask?? Where are the toxins coming from? Thx
Beautiful technique and thanks for sharing ❤
I’ve been trying to achieve this flowy technique for quite a while, getting closer but “not quite there”. I think this will help.
On the fleece that you use, do you dampen it first before placing it under the shirt or does it matter? Do you turn the t shirt inside out? Thank you in advance for your reply 🙏🏻❤🙏🏻
Where do you get your sweatshirts from?
I love how they turned out!!
May I ask where you found your wire baskets?
I got them from Meijer in the sections with plastic bins and baskets. :)
For the sake of science, THANK YOU!
Also, is the sweeeeeeet shirt you are wearing done in your cool mist method? What blue is that? It's amazing! 🤩
I think I used turquoise and cayman isle first, to soak into the lines. The rest is a grey… maybe neutral grey? That shirt was a happy accident that I haven’t been able to recreate 🥲 thank you for your kind comment!
How did you get blue into your geode lines?
Your shirts are so amazing and pretty im new and just getting into tiedye where can i find good shirt and sweatshirt
What ice maker do you have?
Corky, do you wash the fleece after the garment you dyed is removed? I know the dye isn't supposed to bond with the fleece, but thought it would probably transfer dye from one project to another if not washed. Do you agree? Thank you!
I haven’t been washing it. I rinse it for about a minute, then spin it out and reuse it. I’m not seeing noticeable dye transfer. 🥳
Did you turn the sweater inside out first?? Is this standard for sweaters and shirts, or what's the reason behind it? So curious!
hi there, just found your channel as that lovely flowy tee showed up during my searches! gorgeous, i'm going to try it ASAP! as eagrinstead1 said with putting indigo halfway down also, is that what you meant by detail colors? I'm not sure I understand...I've been tie dyeing for 4 years but I don't think I have that kind of detailed thought process lol...no pun intended...
Yess, you understand what I’m trying to say with “detail color”! The indigo blue is a nice one for getting flowy dark lines that move a long distance ☺️
Thank you Corky! One question: I recently purchased a panda spinner and I was wondering how long do you spin your shirts? I was concerned they may get too dry and the soda ash won’t react.
I don’t know if it’s possible to get it too dry. I always sprinkle a little more soda ash on top anyway. 😅 I probably spin it for 20 seconds? I’ll need to count next time.
What die do you use
Thank you for the video!! I am going to try it!
Did you soak in soda ash..?
I did presoak this one. Then spun it out so it was slightly damp before dyeing. Sometimes I just sprinkle it on with the ice though.
@@corkylorenz thank you sooo much!
I have the ice on.. I am trying to make the little mountains with pool noodles!
Hi - I've been trying to find a way to get better flow on some 100% cotton shirts like I do with cotton blend sweatshirts... is a microfiber towel the same since it's 100% poly? Or a baby burp towel at 100% poly? I was thinking of putting a light towel over my projects, then ice, then dye - in hopes of capturing flow...your doing underneath ?? Wowza ! As long as it's 100% poly - does it work? Wow thanks
I’m not sure how they would go. Sounds like a good thing to try!
What was the color combo?
For which shirt? The ones I dyed in the video, I used indigo blue, wasabi, lavender and amber waves.
Chopping down the skin tag with the needle? You made it worse.
Love it!
