Extremely impressed by Tavares' pragmatic and no bs answers, telling it like it is like the late Sergio Marchionne! He's spot on on everything

Omg lol no he's dead wrong on everything and he is going to be replaced pretty soon, just like the CEO of Toyota who also whined about BEVs has been.

He is correct and this "thing" of banning combustion engines by 2030 is "putting the cart before the horse".
The other major issues today and going forward - especially in the US more so - is the fascincation/dumbness that everyone needs a truck/SUV with a Hemi in it as well as lots and lots of electronic goo/garbage that serves no practical purpose except to jack up prices to purchase and then prices for repairs when not covered by warranty besides. Need vs. want comes to mind.
We need practical sensible fuel efficent as well as low emission vehicles that are affordable to buy own and insure.
A 3/4 ton RAM with a 6.4 Hemi 4X4 with payments of upward of $1,000 for a decade of finacing it as well as insurance costs of another $200/month besides to drive say even 30 miles to work and such is just dumb, dumb, & dumber but yet so many are doing this exact thing and then complain about never having any money; no savings; and then the whine that comes when the price of gasoline @ the pump goes up - well duhhhhh.........
Hybrid low emission now and then later with electric/hydrogen or similar.

The issue for Stellantis is that they are willfully under prepared for the transition to EV. The 2030 ban have caught them by surprise. Now with a expiration date on the majority of their products and business model, they are understandably panicking.

Appears you didnt get his point... EV is making car prices in general go up & people cannot afford them....and it's gonna get even worse

Why so? Driving an EV when only 13% or the energy is from renewable sources is nuts. And that’s official stats. Tons of people will not accept to only rely on electric cars. Most people have both, but not just EV
