I add a quart of atf to my tank every few months. Helps lube everything and keep it working smooth. I had a failing pump and 200 mile trip to make and that atf got me home. Had to beat on the tank every half mile to get me down the road before I added the atf. After adding it I made it 150 miles with no issue. It really works.
No way! I had no idea! Thanks for the info!
Whoa... running your truck til it's low on fuel can cause the fuel pump to burn out!? That's the first time I've heard that!
Yup, fuel cools your fuel pump and keeps it operating properly longer.
Keep running them low. Fuel pumps are cake wake at my shop. Easy 1000 dollar bill on these gmt-800 with 600 of it being pure profit

Access panel for the win!
The access makes life easier for sure.
Yappington city!!!
Worked fine for me
Glad to hear!😎
Cool music
Thanks, I try to offer something different 😎
U got lucky already cut. Lol fixing to do the same to my Chevy avalanche 2007.
Yes, it was a nice break from the norm 😅
How did yours turn out? I have to do the same on my 2010 suburban.
Had to do this because I looked at the fuel lines and they where rusted bad and I didn't want to drop the tank to mess around with busted fuel lines added to my problem
I completely understand
some cars if you run out of gas, the ECM has to be reset. The ECM shuts off the pump to make it live if it senses no pressure.
That is really great tech for sure 😁
origanly was going to cut a hole in my bed but took the bed off instead lol
If you can remove the bed it is much easier
The reason there is no panel is because it's easy to remove the tank and swap the pump on these. I've done pumps on quite a few vehicles and my Tahoe was by far the easiest.
These have several plastic emissions lines that are prone to cracking causing an emissions related CEL, the GMT 400s did not though.
You must not be working on very many salt belt vehicles..... Everything is rusted and will snap if you look too hard at it.... I'm cutting access panel way easier to deal with that
@@normankaster917that could be, although most of my life was in the salt belt. Douse bolts with lots of penetrating oil. There's really only two bolts that hold it up and two ring clamps. I'm just amazed though. It's so easy to drop the tank. I've dropped a bunch of them. The only vehicle that was a bear was my 1994 Z28 Camaro. Exhaust, and rear end was in the way... and then it just BARELY came out. I'd not dream of cutting up the body let alone taking part the interior. That's a lot more work then just dropping the tank. It'll also create more places where your vehicle will rust. I'd make sure to recoat all those with paint and or sealer of some kind. Trucks have to be the easiest of them all.
Is there a version of this in English?
I was pretty sure I recorded this in English 🤷🏾♂️
Everyone should cut access panels it's bs that vehicle manufacturers don't give one just to ensure a $300 job becomes a $1,300 job.
I will say it does make more sense to have an access panel. Granted most fuel pumps don't go out under warranty, it is still a part that needed to be replaced at some point. GM does this in the Buick regals, so I'm not sure why they didn't on the SUVs
🦾
It only takes an hour and a half to drop the tank. your only going to be doing it every 100k or so.
Someone already had an access cut on this one, so I gladly took advantage 😅
Bring it to the shop? 😂. Ya, no.
😂😂😂 this is not anything we do at the shop. We are primarily pre 1990
I had the same model Suburban, and I could squeeze in 33 gals if I took my time, that would only make the take weigh 200LBS at most.
Awesome 😎
Hell yeah.
