Delphi Fuel Pump FG0106 Design Flaw Nightmare...2001 GMC Yukon Xl 2500

I can't be the only person to have a really bad experience installing this Delphi FG0106 fuel pump. What a frustrating nightmare. See my solution that took me two days and two fuel pumps to figure out.
I hope this will help someone that likes to save money on repairs.The cost of labor alone here in Southern California is about $700.00.

Update...I waited too long for a refund from www.RockAuto.com, since they have a 40 day refund policy. But...they did replace the pump under the manufacturer's warranty. They sent me a return RMA label, prepaid via FedEx Ground. I sent back the broken unit and had a new replacement in about 5 days...over the President's Day weekend. I now have an extra fuel pump. Anybody need one? lol
