Well done. Thorough, well spoken, edited and useful.
One question.
Did you leave the key in the on position and engine off while waiting many minutes to see if pressure was holding??
Hello I have a question, so I have a 2008 can-am ds 450 efi .
For some reason it Turn on and drives if I continue to give it gas . But as soon as I sit in one place for longer then 30 seconds it turns off , and keeps doing that , I thought it would be the fuel pump relay but I already change it and it’s doing the same thing can you help me out
please
L
I like how fast he talks and gets right to the issue ; symptoms, testing, repairs, etc. He's not a slow talker and drags it out. Thank God. 🙂
Fantastic video! I couldn’t help but to notice that he says “vehicle” like “vyrhicle” every time though 😂
I couldn’t help but notice your unnecessary comment. I mean if you could decode his speech issue then he must have communicated effectively enough. There were literally thousands of other words. I am saddened by the state of our internet discourse.
@@rickbrower5794 Thanks for completely overlooking my “fantastic video” comment and turning a lighthearted comment into a big deal.
I am saddened by the state of our internet discourse.
Backhanded compliments are just the thing everyone likes to hear. Drew, you have a responsibility in society not to be a bully. To be taken to account when you are one. And to apologize if you realize you made a mistake. This would be akin to a person saying that someone’s hat is cool then pointing and laughing because they are blind. I hope you can understand how your words matter. If not, that’s okay. I have a great sense of humor… laughing at things like this are not funny.
@@rickbrower5794 I don’t understand why people get so offended/triggered over the smallest little things. Comparing him making an observation about his dialect to laughing at someone who is blind is a piss poor analogy. If he said something like “It’s pronounced “vehicle” not “vyhricle”, idiot.” Then that would be rude and completely unnecessary, but All the guy did was comment about an observation he made. He shouldn’t apologize nor does he have a need to. If you don’t like what he said cry about it and move on. Grow up.
All I hear is veerhichle.... I'm laughing wondering if he's playing around like "meow" on super troopers
I can tell this guy did extra credit on school presentations !! Great video !

im sure somebody did mentioned in these hundreds of comments which i have no time to read all, O-rings in modern in-tank fuel pump+filter+regulator, need to be changed as well to reduce/prevent gradual loss of fuel pressure over time and improve fuel pump efficiency(less workload in the long-run). sharing experiences is cool.
By far the best video on Utube I've seen on this subject, Well done 1A Auto and thank you for ALL your videos. Very helpful !!👍👍

Pretty good display, thank you
Thanks I learned a lot. My problem is surging and bad fuel response. I'm going to try these tests and hopefully find the problem.
The spark plug tip was grade A helpful. I am going to pull out my plugs and hope that is the issue. After all the videos I have watched and also the various sources of text-based information I feel I am starting to narrow down the issue I am having.

VIDEOS VERY HELPFUL. I LEARNED SOME THINGS THAT I THOIGHT I ALREADY KNEW.. HOW AND WHY MEANS. A LOT. I NEVER THOUGHT OF A FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR... AS. A. CHECK. VALVE. I WATCHED 2 VIDEOS AND LEARNED AT LEAST 10 IMPORTANT FACTS THAT YOU EXPLAINED IN A WAY I COULD UNDERSTAND.. I AM OVER 70 YEARS OLD.AND YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT A BIG HELP YOU ARE. THANK YOU VERY. MUCH.
I love you man, I know I'm a year late for saving my expedition but fuel pressure or the Fuel pump shat the bed. I had to keep my foot on pressed slightly on the gas, otherwise it would stall.
It's last day with me, it stalled in traffic and thankfully I managed to steer into a side street with no power, everything just shut down so it required some strength to steer that beast.
1999 expedition with the V8 Triton engine. Lesson learned.
Very informative, thank you
Your videos are very helpful thank you please keep making these...
+Ydiscovered Ydiscovered Thanks for the feedback!
I thought the video was very thorough the gentleman explained it very well and I appreciate thank you much
Dear Sir, Thank you for good explanation
Excellent, excellent, EXHAUSTIVE video!
definitely gonna implement this knowledge on my "Verichle"
Thank you for sharing your knowledge god bless
In my '87 Ford 5.0L, fuel pressure is relative to the intake manifold, so the gage reading (relative to atmosphere) will drop with engine running, and can vary at least 10 PSI as you blip the throttle. The fuel tank is flat and sloshes badly even when fuel level is low. The resulting weight transfer makes it much more difficult to manage (and more dangerous) than you would think, so I made an attachment for my floor jack that supports the tank more widely AND also keeps the jack itself from tipping over. This has come in handy for transmissions that like to roll off the jack.
superb presentation. helps a lot of us regarding our cars

Thank you for this
Explanation is awesome bud!
Appreciate it!
Excellent vid!!! Learn heaps!! Probably 'solved' my stalling problem on my 2009 Kia Carnival. Now onwards, I will keep my tank at least half full and get a pressure gauge tester to monitor my fuel line pressure. What do you know about 'sticky' fuel pump? Is that also due to low fuel, overheating, bad fuel? Worn parts, time to change?
Thanks. Frank
I want to say thank you your videos help me with my 99dodge ram 1500 5.2.
Glad to hear that!
This is the best and specific vidio I ever se abbot this topic.

Wow GREAT video! loved every minute. Did not know any of this because never had an issue and i have been a Holley carburetor since 1977; about 4yrs ago i had a problem like this and i added and inline fuel pump and it solved the problem BUTT i know it is not proper; Thankx for this video because now i know what to basically look for on a problematic 1995 Blazer 4.3L engine
Great video, Thank you.

great video thank you
Fantastic video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Muy bien explicado perfect

hi, thanks for sharing knowledge, I experienced something similar to your explanation. I have a ford focus automatic transmission vehicle which has a problem when it is started it takes a long time to start the engine and the code P0087 appears on the speedo check engine light display. What is the easiest solution you can give me to solve this problem?
I had a fuel relay on my 4.8 in backwards. Make sure your relays are not in backwards. Needs the permanent ground on 86/30.
Thanks for this video. I have a 2014 Silverado 3500 HD with dual tanks (gas) I've spent over 4k in the past 3 months to get it to run right, even $1400 at the dealer, and they even send me on my way not know how to fix it. I'm going to test out the fuel pressure and look into the pumps next. I've already replaced: knock sensors, all 8 injectors, all 8 coil pack plugs and wires, mass air flow sensor, tps sensor, o2 sensors, both cats. I was at a loss until this video.
Len ! love your videos ! did my serpentine thanks to you piece of cake. now i have a stalling issue with my 2012 ram 1500 5.7....ive done the plugs, serpentine, throttle body cleaning, pcv valve...it stalls at the stop sign. the rpm dips below 6000 an it stalls. if i tap the gas pedal when it starts to dip, it wont stall. i hope i can avoid a fuel pump change. it had a trouble code po463 that went away with a fuel injection cleaning. next thing i will be doing is to check MAFS, MAPS, EGR VALVE, IAC
Yes got a lot of information from that thank you I have a 2002 suburban with a 53 the motor was bad I changed it didn’t realize that it was flex fuel truck and I put a regular gas motor in it didn’t realize it till I was all done and the gas was running funny finally realized it fixed a couple things now my fuel pressure is at 45 psi and it’s slowly leaking after a reasonable amount of time I’m wonderingIf it’s the pump or the regulator surprisingly I didn’t have many issues changing over from the flex fuel some said I had to reprogram my ECM I did not so please any response would be grateful thank you so much
thank you sir nice explanation

Thank you 😁
You're welcome!
Good job. 👍
Super cool video. But he didn't cover diagnosing fuel pressure drops at the injector end or the fuel pump side of the fuel system. In other words, is the system leaking down before the fuel rails or after?
