Finally someone who just shows you how it's done with no over complicated bull shit
Short and sweet. Best basic reloading tutorial out there. thanks.
Thanks Mr45nut, I feel like you didn't over complicate anything or skip over important details like many other people tend to do.
Great video for me. I have been a trap shooter for 40 years and sometimes shooting over 1000 rounds per week. I have reloaded shotgun shells forever but never reloaded a rifle shell. My father has left me an old Herters press with several die sets and I knew absolutely nothing about how to use them. After watching your video I can't wait to give it a try!
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to film this, as most of us wouldn't, myself included. However, we would all comment and add some tips to someone else's video, and I would like to do so as well, with respect to the video's creator. In the interest of not accidentally double-charging a round, and possibly blowing up your gun, there is a little trick that can be used while weighing charges. After the charge has been funneled into the case, I like to put a bullet upside-down in the case mouth, both marking it as filled and plugging it so that I don't accidentally fill it again. When looking at a shell block containing fifty pieces of brass, it is easy to accidentally fill one twice. A double charged round, especially a max load, can blow up a gun and cause serious injury. Simple trick to avoiding a life-changing incident.
Still, I think the video was great, and I thank you for making it.
Great idea......I've done that with shotgun shells, which tell you as the plastic cup with lead will not seat in the shell....maybe not so with center fire.
that's a great tip!
I know this is an old comment but good tip. I am trying to learn how to reload myself.
Good tip but not necessary with .223/5.56. Most loads will almost fill the brass. And if it doesn’t, a double charge will surely over flow the case.
@@lukecurnutte2000 Agreed; only applies to cartridges that take little powder, like 9mm or .45acp. The 5.56, 7.62, 300WM etc. can't be double charged with most standard loads. However, seating a bullet on a cartridge with no powder can lead to a squib, also known as a "day-ruiner". With a .223, especially with subsonic loads, I can't always see the powder in the case, not without a flashlight.
Best reloading videos I've seen so far.
I do clean my brass in a tumbler. Not that you must but it helps protect your dies from getting dirty or scratched from dirt and crap over time, and it makes your reloads nice and pretty. As for your 5.56 brass I just load it like normal 223 brass. Follow good reloading practices and work your load up starting below the minimum in your reloading manual and you'll be fine. Send me a private message if this doesn't make sense or you need a more detailed explanation. Thanks for watching!
I'm new to reloading and will be taking a " hands on" class next month. With your excellent step-by- step video I have a much better knowldge of reloading so I am prepared for the class. Thank you very much for making the video.
Thank you It's been a long time since I reloaded, and needed a refresher course...
TIP If your reloading for your Bolt Action Rifle, I suggest that you first make up a Dummy Cartridge or 2, To run through your Bolt action, To check if they feed and eject smoothly, Before you load up the live cartridges fot Hunting or Range testing Make up the Dummy test cases with no Primer or Powder in them to test with, Etc If The bolt does not close smooth or the round does not feed in it You may have to turn your resizing Die down another 1/4 of a turn that should correct the bolt problem, I had to learn this the hard way at first etc.
I didn't see any love thrown your way lately and wanted to say thanks for putting together these two videos to get people started loading. Straightforward and easy enough to understand.
Glad you like them!
Outstanding video, I've been around the outdoors for over 50 years, and this video makes center fire reloading simple, fun and safe. Great job.
Hey thanks for keeping this bare basics and to the point and for not putting background music on your video.
Dude, You just simplified the process for me so much. I've watched a dozen other videos that make it look SO complicated, ... Until you! Thank you. I'm interested in getting started with reloading... And honestly, before watching your video... I was very skeptical and thought it's just not worth it.... But you make it simple and easy.... And I again, appreciate the lesson.
Kevin
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the video, this was absolutely worth the watch. I'm actually just starting this out of necessity. Found the only set of dies in northern Finland today for 8.2x53R, and bought them. Have an old Nagant that I got from my father-in-law, and the shameful fact is that as historical as the caliber is in here, it only has SAKO hammerheads factory made for it, and they cost over 3€ a piece.... ..defo going to start loading for my 30-06 as well cause this looks too much fun...
Very simple but complete information about basic reloading. I'm about to set up my equipment and your two videos are extremely helpful. I'm in my mid 60s and just getting into reloading. Thanks for helping an old codger get started.
Great, simple and easy to understand 2 part video, thx.
Thanks for the refresher not reloaded in a while
This is a REALLY good tutorial on the basics. Much obliged.
Thanks for doing these vids. Santa brought me a loading kit and I'm looking forward to getting started. This was just what I needed!
Great video man. Me and dad started reloading, he on his 303 and me on the 300wm. You make it very easy to understand for us noobs at reloading. Take care
Thanks for the videos. Awesome job. I used to reload about 13 years ago and just now got back into it. This was a really good refresher. Thanks again
Me too Jason, I haven’t reloaded for 20 years 😃
Ive been loading 223 and i find this very well presented thanx
Thank you for the video, ive wanted to start reloading for awhile now but had no idea how it really worked. This cleared up and answered alot of things for me and im now gonna begin to purchase the equip and get started. Excellent job, and again thank you from a beginner!!
excellent vid! i love the concise clear step-by-step instruction
Thanks Buddy. Good video. Simple and complete for the most part.
Thanks! Great tutorial for small scale reloading. Now I know what to look for.
dude thanks u made reloading so much easier, I tried other videos and reading the manual but u just made it so simple thanks
Very well done! Thanks for clarifying quite a few thoughts for me. I am new to this and I have looked for something like this. Especially setting up the dies!
Thank you so much I just watched parts 1 and 2. I've been so curious about reloading. 223 and you've just taught me so much. Thank you for the great content!
I find this video very calming to watch and informative, I don’t even own a firearm!
WOW, Nicely done, very articulate and down to earth without a hundred UMM's and fumbling with your words. Again nice job and thank you for sharing your time making this video.
Sure appreciate the video. I'm in the process of getting back into reloading and your video sure brought back some good info. The last time I did any reloading was while I was in the Air Force at Anchorage, AK back in 1991-1995. Thanks again, you did a great job!!!
hey man great video, this really helped me out, i just recently was given a 32-40 winchester and a reloading kit so its nice to have this vid to verify im doing everything right! cheers
Excellent! I'm a newcomer to this; I think with some focused reading on the subject and watching your set of videos a few more times I'll be ready to try it. Thank you for posting this.
@marekiam I'm glad it helped someone out! Thats why I enjoy doing these videos!
Perfect video, just enough to get me into a mindset that I can do reloading too, and stop paying stupid amounts for my 303 British ammo. Thank you again for taking time to make this vid.
Started reloading years ago and just getting back into it. Perfect refresher video. Subscribed!
Great basic video. Nothing fancy. Straight forward. Thank You for taking the time. 👍 🇺🇸
Looking to get into hand loading. Thanks for the videos!!
Awesome job!! Keep up the good work. One of the best how to videos on reloading I've seen on the tube
Also very good vid. One of the most clear and informative vids on RUclips. You got a sub for that my friend.
Great video ! I can't wait to see the rest of the series
Great Video. Everything I was looking for to get started. Thanks
Awesome video man. I found this same press in a barn that a relative owns from a house the bought. Decided to get into reloading now that I've got a few years of brass saved up and your videos simplified things quite a lot. To an over thinker like me, that's much appreciated. Thanks again man'
Great vid! Nice slow step by step. Thanks much!
Very simple explanation! Great video. Thanks!!!
THANK YOU !!!!
Very informative and just what I was looking for..........Thanks for taking the time to do this!!!!
people always ask how I'm so good at loading my 223 I point them to this hear video it's the best I've seen thank you
I'm a new reloader and this is very informative. Thank you for a great video!
Outstanding Video. Thanks for both part 1 and 2. You made this very easy to understand. I'm all in now! Cheers!
Great videos, part 1 and 2. Thanks a lot!
I am waiting on the stand I ordered to reload on but have all the other equipment. Thus is the first and only video I've seen that explains in detail how the reloading process works without adding in so much unneeded information that it seems daunting. Best instructional video I've seen in a while!
What kind of stand and where did you get it from
There's something relaxing about this. I need to get into reloading! I like it the way you do it. It might be slow but like I said, there's something relaxing about it lol. Maybe because I'm very OCD about certain things and having complete control on the exact amount of powder I want, inspecting each round, etc. will make me feel accomplished. That's just me haha.
Thank you best re loading video I have seen and made simple
Good video. Thank you. I would suggest adding the steps of cleaning the primer pocket after depriming and deburring the opening before inserting a bullet.
Great video. I would have really liked to see when you trim your cases as well and if you did them every time or not. Very helpful. Thank you!
Very helpful video with clear instructions 👍
Great videos, thanks for the crisp clean and basic information to get started. I just got my dyes and I'm waiting for my press. The rest of the equipment I'll buy locally. I got bags of casings and figured since I can even find a box of .223 I mind as well start reloading
was very informative. i have all the gear and am about to seat my first round Thank you
thanks for taking the time. great vids, you've helped me twice now.
Thanks for the info brother. I'm definitely giving this a run Asap since I live in the soviet union of new yorkistan
Awesome video. Very helpful. Thank you.
This is very helpful and hopeful that I can do this!
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Great info, thanks for putting this together!
GREAT ! Video answered all of my questions, Thanks
That was a really great basic , straight to the point reloading video . A cool little trick is to wipe down all your plastic tools
with a dryer sheet to get rid of any static build up . Like when your putting powder in the case with a plastic funnel it
keeps the powder from sticking to the funnel . I like to tap the funnel once or twice to make sure it all goes in , guess
most of this is for like match loads but it works pretty good .
Thank you for your videos! Quick tip on adjusting you bullet seating depth with that screw. If you know what the threads per inch (or mm) you can do the math to calculate what one full turn of the screw will be. Lets take a 1/4-20 screw for an example. If you take 1 and divide it by the number of threads you obtain the pitch value. 1/20=0.050. This means for each revolution that 1/4-20 screw will travel 0.050 of an inch. So now if you divide up one revolution based off 360 degrees, each degree of movement moves that screw just over 0.0001 of an inch! Super accurate way of knowing how much you have turned any screw!
Thanks for the good vid. I've been loading pistol cartridges for over 20 yrs now and recently would like to start reloading for the .223. Reloading rifle bullets seemed more work, but your vid showed me it can be done relatively quickly.
Great video, now onto the shopping part of reloading!
Great videos, lots of informations. Cheers
Best reloading video.
Thank you for that. Nice work!
"snug it down" love your reloading videos bro.
Fantastic video!!! I was on the fence regarding reloading, but you convinced me. Ammo (30-06 in particular) is SO expensive these days. If I can save $$$ per round, eventually I'll have paid for the necessary equipment to load my own.
Again, thank you for an excellent tutorial.
Very nicely done. Thanks.
thanks jeffgood info, going to start reloading soon, got all the stuff, bench ect, just gotta set it all up.
Good well planned out video!
Thank you for the info.
You helped me a lot.
Great job! Well done.
Excellent video. Thanks
Great video! With the piece of reloading equipment, powder, primers, and everything you need, plus the time that goes into it, I think I will stick with buying ammo as I'm not sure it would be cost effective.
Great demo, thanks!
Good Vid. When your going to really crank down on the die nut to lock it, it can put a nasty burr on your threads. The old timers put a lead shot bb under the set screw which helps to prevent this. I have never had a nut come loose using this method plus the threads don't get buggered up Have fun Loading and keep your powder dry.
great videos.
Great video, very helpful!
Thank you for an excellent video.
Great video !
Great video.
great video, i'm in the process of setting up for 223.
Very awesome video. Nice set, I'm considering buying the same one.
Great job. Your vide is a great help. I am just getting into reloading and I am not going to do match grade yet. Thanks for the video.
Great video, I know have a good idea of what I need to start reloading.
Good video. I am an experienced reloader. I have only reloaded handgun ammo. Very good on basics.
Dammit man! I think you've just inspired me! Fantastic video brother! Thank you!
Sick video man, thank you!
Great video thanks for posting.
Great video thanks!
What about a case trimmer ?
