I swear the hype for Android updates is massively less than what it used to be. I remember seeing masses of videos covering each pre-release version in-depth in years gone by, but this time, I was barely aware 13 was even on the horizon until today
@@Samsonfs This also further entrenches the idea that Android 13 issnt that big of a deal to show off either. Its the next version number of Android, thats about it.
what would be really nice if chat apps would push this to the next level, choosing languages per group so your keyboard autocorrect has a less hard time
Here's a practical example of why I'm looking forward to setting apps to different languages: my phone is in French, but I live in Germany. When my boiler's monitoring app notifies me of an issue, I get the message in French, so I have no idea what the issue is called in German when I want to contact my technician. I have to change my entire phone's language setting to be able to see the error message in German, and then report it to the technician. And then I get to switch the phone language again 😅
What I would really love is for the keyboard to recognize the language in which a person has written me, and change accordingly so I can just go ahead and start typing without having to change.
Well you don't need to change the app language for that. All you can do is take the screenshot of the notification and you can get the translate option directly after taking the screenshot. If the translation option is not there just go to the galaxy and open a screenshot in Google lens and click translate it will automatically translate the French language app screenshot to german...
@@deepakbisht4957 That's a good idea, but Google translate may not he good enough to know some of the components that fail in my fancy heat pump 😅 For example: the word palette is more broadly something completely different than what is in the appliance.
The biggest feature I had been looking forward to on Android 13 is the native braille support built into TalkBack. However, I and many people in the blind community are very disappointed to discover that Google still has not added support for the modern Hid braille standard, which has been around for several years now. This means that people using braille displays that support this standard cannot use braille on Android. Speaking from the perspective of someone who relys on braille for communicating with people, I find this lack of support from Google extremely disheartening.
@@TechDove talkback works by speaking the items on the screen as you drag your finger around the screen. so with talkback, it reads the comments to me. the braille display essentially does the same thing except that it shows in braille what talkback is speaking. a braille display is a machine that displays text in braille by raising and lowering pins in a flat surface. the pins form patterns that represent text. the braille display connects to android via bluetooth. there's a braille display setting in talkback that one must enable in order to use a braille display with talkback.
@@waylee264 I've never spoken to someone whom is blind before, if you don't mind me asking, what is it like? Did you ever have sight or did you lose it at some point? What is the most difficult thing about it, and are there any positives? Like maybe your sense of smell, or hearing is better (if that's a thing) Sorry, I don't mean to be rude or anything, I'm just very curious.
@@TechDove I don’t mind. I was born with some useable vision. I lost it due to detached retinas and glaucoma. What’s it like being blind? For the most part, I don’t think about it on a day to day basis. I just live my life like anyone else. I go to college, cook my own food, travel, etc. I use a lot of assistive technology and adaptive equipment to accomplish tasks. For example, I use my braille display and computer for homework. I use my white cane to get around. Probably the biggest challenge for me as a blind person is not being able to drive. Public transportation isn’t always reliable. The other biggest challenge is somewhat limited employment opportunities. Unless you go to college and major in something that offers field work opportunities it will be even harder to find a job. Depending on how severe the vision impairment is, you more than likely would not be able to do the jobs that many people start out with, such as working at starbucks, dunkin donuts, etc. Those are the two biggest challenges I face. Other than that, being blind doesn’t really bother me that much, though I can't say the same for other people. Everyone copes with it differently. Some of the positives about being blind, well for me at least, it's made me more resilient. I often have to prove to people that I am capable of doing things. Being blind has made me work harder for the things I want than perhaps I might have had I been sighted. It's made me more empathetic towards people. I’m less likely to judge people based on their appearance. These are just a few exapples. Also, my hearing is not better. I just rely on it more. For example, I listen to the traffic patterns to tell when it is safe to cross the street.

App specific language support is awesome! My native language is German but I very much prefer to use my phone in English cause English is the native language of the OS and I'm a big fan of language acquisition through immersion. However, I'm glad that I can now use apps like the journey planer for my local public transportation agency in its original language as well as the German version of Google Maps cause the English A.I. voice doesn't speak out German street names.

So Android 13 is the much more refined version of 12 along with some more quality of life changes. Nice. Android 12 and alot of the phones that has it definitely turned some people off because of the bugs and lack of fixes. Hopefully this will be a much better year. And I hope more phones get long term Android update support

The biggest feature of Android 13 I'm looking forward to is in Google Lense. They spoke about a feature that would allow you to take a photo of a shelf of groceries and look for peanut free foods on that shelf (as an example) and it just tells you. As someone with a lot of food allergies that just makes doing groceries so much easier and opens me up to more foods I may have never tried before cause I didn't know they were safe.
Google really should focus on Google Lens. It has so much potential. I'd like to be able to take a picture of a bookshelf for example, search for titles, and have it show me where on the shelf that book is. Also, more accurate plant identification would be awesome.
That's amazing! Of course, we wouldn't be able to _trust_ that it's using correct labeling, but finding likely safe foods in a sea of unsafe ones would be a huge timesaver, instead of having to check the labels for *everything*. (This is especially true for allergies that are even more prevalent, like soy, where it takes several hours of careful and diligent shopping to find just a handful of items, with entire categories of items not even possible to buy in many markets, such as bread in almost any US supermarket. Or, really, almost anything that's processed in any way.) Hopefully they bring this to other countries than just the US too. But it's Google, so it's probably only going to be available in English and only in Silicon Valley for years, if it ever makes it to any non-Googler's phone.
From what I’ve seen, they just went back to the old, pre KitKat way where the names are there but it’s not actually marketed as such bc it’s confusing. But 10 was Quince tart, 11 was Red velvet cake, 12 was Snow cone, and 13 is Tiramisu
I I know it's not a feature but my favorite has to be just the overall stability and bug fixes. Even as someone who didn't have a bad time with Android 12, Android 13 feels like what it was supposed to be. I know they're boring, but these QOL updates for some of the best for devices

Specific app language is a game changer for me. I use English for almost everything but want my maps to appear in my native language since that's the language all the streets and business are in. You could do that internally in Maps before, but it wouldn't carry over to Android Auto where it would still be English. Hopefully this will solve that. Update: It does not carry over to Android Auto 😭
Not really a game changer in the electronics world, as KDE on Linux has supported this feature for years. It's even simpler there, as you can change the language on the fly by going to Help in the menu bar and then clicking Change application language... rather than having to dive into the system settings like on Android.

My Samsung S21 updated to Android 13, and now a lot of apps don't load or take forever when I'm on wifi. If it turn wifi off, they load well for the most part. Had no problem with wifi prior to the upgrade.
I had a 6 Pro and returned it and got the 6 for the flat screen. I've had only one weird issue with Chrome not going to sites when I type them in randomly but that went away when I installed the 13 Beta.
I've had the 6 Pro since a few months after launch, and Android 13 has made it feel like the phone it was always supposed to be. Waaaaaay cleaner, more refined, and even the fingerprint reader is faster and more reliable.
Reminder: Android OS distribution numbers include other devices besides phones, including TV's, smart home devices, and even home fitness equipment. Those devices tend to run much older OS versions and will never see an update because they simply don't need it to maintain basic functionality.
@hanSOLO technically yes, but there aren't a lot of people downloading and installing malicious apps to their thermostat or exercise equipment. Lol Even my 2022 car has rear screens for passengers to watch RUclips and Netflix running some forked version of Android 4.x. There is almost zero chance it will be exploited because there is no way for the user to install anything beyond what was preloaded. So your concerns about exploits don't really apply to these types of devices.
@hanSOLO if it's an embedded system, I understand. But when it's a network connected system… we need laws in place to force manufacturers to keep the software updated for some minimum period.

I just bought an A53 5G as a low cost way to try out Android for a possible move from iOS. I'm having fun with Android 12 mainly because of the infinite customisability of the system. It's a tough thing to move from one to the other but I'm getting used to Android by the day and think I may be finally able to wean myself away from Apple. I feel there is much better value in the Android phone world and I'm willing to take a shot now that updates are available for a few years on the Samsung top tier and some of the mid tier phones. BTW, with a nice case you'd never know the A53 was not a top tier phone. I'm looking forward to the Android 13 update.

As a native Persian speaker, something that really helped mr improve my English language skills was my phone's language. Now that I'm learning Spanish, I still want to be able to have the whole UI in Spanish but in some apps like WhatsApp and Telegram where I'm communicating with others, it's nice to have the option to change the app's language.
Same thing with me. I want everything in spanish so that i can learn it. And want critical apps just in English so that i don't mess up during critical times.

Is it actually good? It sucked on Android 11 and 12, I never ever liked it. Is seeking through music reliable (is the tap to seek still disabled when tapping too close to the circle)? Which apps did you try the media player with?
Per app language is a game changer. I'm French but like using my software in English for multiple reasons. However, some banking and transport apps will follow the English parameter, making things a bit weird (as the English version are more thought around them being used by travellers and foreigners). It also makes sense considering some apps like Discord provide in-app language selection. Having it at the OS level, like notification channels, make way more sense to me, as it's an OS-level parameter rather than an application level setting. However, it sucks a lot that Google, for some reason, decided to have developers opt-in to this rather than being the default. It was possible during the beta to change language for every app. Now, only a handful support it (and not even Google apps support it ...). I'm fearful it's going to end up as a dead feature, if the developers have to change a parameter when building their app. It's a rather niche use case, so not all developers will think about it, but it's a much needed QOL feature.
Okay so I'm an Android Developer. The reason why they are asking the developers to opt-in to this feature is because not all apps support it. When the developers want to provide multilingual support for their app, they literally have to provide the translation for EVERY SINGLE WORD/ SENTENCES that they are displaying in the UI for the desired language. Also, it's not easy especially for legacy apps that have been in development for years. So, the obvious choice here was to allow the developers to provide multilingual support and then opt-in into the experience.

I think Android doesn't need the "big number updates" as much as back in the days. A lot of things in Android can update without the system update, like Google play system, dialer, launcher, Bluetooth somehow (as I was told), security patches, camera, etc. And most of those updates, also update on older Android versions. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to see new features, but we see them throughout the year, bit by bit.
@@animepussy8356 I think what he is trying to say is you get some of the basic features on your older devices without getting the newer Android version with some tweaks. I'm really looking forward to the separate language app setting. Listening to Japanese songs on RUclips music is a pain if they convert the native letters into Romaji. It would have been fine if there are spacing in between the words, but it end up being a gibberish mess. Being able to change Yt music's locale to Japanese would be a life changer for me.
@@Hoffman117_ Yep YT music does have that feature to romanize the Japanese texts if the publisher request for it. However, I would like to have an option to switch between the 2 as some cases of Romanization are not very intelligible. An example would be a song called Dr.レイテンシーの眠れなくなる瞳 being romanised to DOKUTAREITENSHINONEMURENAKUNARUHITOMI. There are no space between the words, and the letters were all capitalised. Anyone would recognise the kana title faster than they could with the Romanized version.

I hope they consider making the Pixel homescreen more customizable (remove the search bar to reduce chances of screen burn). Using Nova launcher causes some random crashes for the system ui in my experience.
There's many launchers that aren't stock or nova, try out lawnchair and smart launcher, they won't have nova's glitches (but yeah removable search bar eould be nice), but burn-in is not a problem on most phones
Lawnchair 12.1.0 Alpha 4 (current version) is exactly like Pixel Launcher but with searchbar and At A Glance widget removable. It's really nice and polished, maybe you should try it
I've wanted that per-app native language support for *years*. I'm gonna use the heck out of that. Language learning is my primary hobby, and this would make so many things easier, especially with certain scripts. Been a long time coming.
I've been using app-specific languages on my iPhone for years and it's really convenient. I prefer to have my devices in English, but I like to use apps that are specific to Germany in German. It's a little strange that they require the app to support it on Android 13 though if it's basically pretending to the app that the phone is set to a different language.
Instead have different language settings conveniently accessible as a quick settings toggle. That's much more convenient. But of course Google are more interested in copying Apple than doing what makes sense
Unfortunately the translation support in iOS is really really bad compared to Android. Recently moved from Android and this is one of the main reasons I am looking to go back.
So the main thing I've noticed with this update on my Pixel 6 Pro is that they've finally fixed the awful under display fingerprint scanner, which was the only thing that stopped me recommending this phone. Now it's pretty much perfect for me.

Hey Marques, maybe you could do a similar vid on One UI 5? I know there's a bunch of those around, but given that this is how most people will experience Android 13, it seems to make sense.
Yep I think so. Actually software releases are very popular be it iOS, Android or One UI, you can see how people get excited when you look at their official video. I think a video like Stock Android + One UI and even other Android skins would be cool.
individual app language support is great, hopefully in the future they consider other advance controls per apps like individual media/volume control per app and other accessibility features for individual apps
I feel like one of the other main differences in why iOS number changes are watched more instead of Android number changes is a lot of the changes, Google does through app updates, iOS requires system updates When Google announced the new tablet interface versions at Google IO, alot of that has already showed up, I see most of the Google apps already have a nice tablet experience. Most of the new stuff Apple announced at WWDC won't take effect until iOS 16 releases.
Yeah exactly. Plus Every manufacturer has it's own slightly different UI Skin (Oxygen OS, One UI and so on), which also gets updated separately. As a Samsung user i would be much more interested how One Ui 5 will be in terms of features. Just because those changes will be much more noticeable.
In general, the increasingly improving voice to text options have completely change the way I interact with my phone. The pixel Line has always had the best voice to text features, Gboard in general is OK, but the specific pixel ” faster typing” has always been impressive. Samsung one UI is way better then stock Android IMO. I was a former Essential Phone and Pixel 5 owner...but since I did use one UI with my first Samsung Galaxy device, my productivity has gone up quite a bit, it's a lot more convenient what you can do with the side bar on the right ( Snipping tool, screenshot, etc) but also the multitasking and the picture editing options.
From personal experience working at an AASP, the only reason I can think of for most Apple devices being on most recent update versions is that a lot of features JUST STOP WORKING if the software is not fully up to date. A lot of users would just come in with certain features or apps not working/being buggy and it just ends up being the software update that fixes it. Really makes you think about the way some of these apps/software are developed.
Not to mention that if a phones storage becomes too full it can brick the device, I have seen phones unable to be reset and unable to update due to the phones storage being too full. Becomes so unusable to the point where the user can not even delete apps/photos using up a lot of information to free up enough space for a reset/update (bootloops, black screen, frozen, etc.)
Android is much better engineered. They are decoupling as much as possible from the core operating system and make security stuff updatable over the play store, which is a much better design then having apps and security so baked into the operating system that you have to update it. A lot of vulnerabilities in iOS come from that design choice that apps like iMessage that have no reason to have hardware access have it
That’s a apple thing. Not to say android is by any means perfect. But. Apple devices old enough become way more obsolete than android. Android is always useable I seen a android as old as iPhone 1 still useable.
Could it be that most iOS devices are running the latest version because they have automatic updates turned on and Apple pushes it out to every iPhone globally at the same time. Also because there is the annoying bubble telling you it has an update available.
I remember having language settings on a per app basis was one of the reasons I rooted my phone in like 2016. After getting new phones, though I didn't have the time or motivation to root again (+guarantee problems etc), so I just kind of gave up and learnt to deal with major language inconveniences because most apps just cannot deal with 2 languages. Things like having a grocery app in local language, but having the phone in English for example. I've tried so many apps over the years that were praised highly everywhere, just to find out that their localisation is so bad, that it becomes unusable.
Thankfully, Android 13 has finally fixed the bug on my Google Pixel 4 XL, the lock screen now works correctly and there isn't a 50% chance of not requiring a password!! I have been waiting for this to be fixed for so long!!
I'm highly convinced that my Pixel 6 bugginess has disappeared with Android 13. It somehow feels like a whole new, stable experience. Also, my personal take: the best new feature is the ability to set the flashlight to the Quick Tap choice. I've been asking for this forever.
I love that my flashlight is only a double tap away on the power button, MIUI does have some nice built-in features despite people's negative opinions on them (which are understandable if their phones are straight up sluggish because of it). I remember hearing about this Quick Tap (under a different name I think) a while back when it was a secret feature, does it use ur gyro to detect pressure on the phone or something? Might look into it out of curiosity lol. Anyway, I should prob update from A10 haha..
@@windroid_user I don't think it uses gyro because I routinely use the app Tasker for automation purposes, and motion controlled actions responded differently and separately from my quick tap action without interfering with each other. That being said, I'm not really sure how it works.
exactly once you have an unlocked bootloader you can switch to lineage os which actually gives you updates on time it's 100% your phone manufacturer baking in planned obselesance
Favorite feature: Being able to turn off the flashlight from the lock screen without having to pull down for it. It's minor, but I use my flashlight a lot and the convenience is amazing.
With the Pixel and Galaxy series, Android fragmentation is a thing of the past. Pixels got Android 13 right away in August. The newest Galaxy's got One UI 5 in October. My nearly 3 year old A71 got it in November. I hear Samsung is working with Google to bring One UI updates even sooner. Plus 4 or 5 years of updates and security patches.
Thanks for the breakdown bro. Woke up this morning to see this pop up on my Note 20 so wanted to see what the new changes are. Always enjoy your vids as they are always well put together. So far, this update to me is just ho hum after finding out whats been changed although some of the new features are definitely appreciated. A bit surprised they're no longer calling these updates with some dessert names which was fun.
I gotta say I was getting a bit sick with my pixel 5 because it was slowing down and being a bit glitchy but this new update and I'm guessing all those patches have completely changed the phone. Feels brand new again!
I used the bootloader to install Android 13 into my pixel 5a and started working fine but then I tried to transfer my data from my pixel 5 to my 5a.... It didn't transfer my text messages. So I would factory reset it again and again. Then I copied data from a back up from pixel 5 and it uploaded my text message but names wouldn't show in certain numbers and messages were out of place from personal and business. I wonder if this is still a beta version cuz this version already glitchy.
I wanna get back to Pixel because of this version. Tempting to buy a 6 or 6 pro now at reduced price but holding myself for the real bad boys 7 and 7 pro
I'm excited for this update. Other than the language switching I use all the other features you mentioned all the time. I have a pixel 6 pro so I'll get it soon.
I’ve always wanted that language setting feature. Still waiting for the day that voice assistance will be bilingual as well. Can’t imagine that that is so hard to program… can’t use them because of that in most cases I’d like to use them.
you can change google assistant's language by saying "OK Google, change my language to *your language*". you can also speak to it in any language and it will understand.
Honestly, I love One UI. I think is does so much right, but seeing Android 13's animations, compared to the One UI 5 Beta, I just wish Samsung would invest some time to make the UI more fluid with better, not glitchy animations.
Per-app language support finally! It's been around as an xposed framework mod for close to a decade now (pretty sure I ran the module on my old Note 2; definitely on my Note 4), but since I no longer root my phone because I use Samsung Pay, I've been sorely missing this feature. I'm pretty sure almost every multilingual person has been begging Google for this for years.
I was running the 13 beta. I loved it besides a few lags here and there, but finally have the official one. It's just smooth. And Google's voice text is the best out right now and I don't think I could give this up alone just for iMessage lol

Lately I've started to consider switching from my Pixel 4a 5G to a high-end Galaxy or maybe even an iPhone in the hopes of getting a smoother, faster, more reliable phone experience. But if this level of performance I've gained today persists over time, it'll likely keep me in the Pixel line and with this phone for much longer than originally planned...
Although minor, I think Google adding overall stability to Android is one of the best things they can do. I'm a diehard Android fan but iOS is just smooth and reliable.
@@deepakbisht4957 until they use more and more of your ram. I have a one year old OnePlus 8 pro and with all the apps closed, it uses up half of my 12 GB Ram. what I hate about android updates and the main reason im not really excited about them, is because for most phones people are gonna see a new update and only get to think: „hmmm, I wonder if ill get this update on my phone couple of months after its release, 8 years later, or never?”
Honestly, a nice update. Also shows Android is now mature and doesn't need a major update every year. The only visual change I want is the slider in settings to change to a more modern looking one

The splintered OS-base is Androids biggest weakness. I'm on a Pixel phone for that reason, but I wish there were some other manufacturers that went for stock android (with a couple of apps perhaps) so they could also keep up with new versions.. I think that would be good for competition. Imagine if Samsung offered a stock alternative.. I'd be very tempted.
@Fisayo Ajisafe Nokia and Motorola use near stock Android, but Sony do a bit more changes - though less than Samsung certainly. I don't like Motorola much but I haven't really looked at the Nokia phones so they could be an alternative.
Finally! App-specific language options. That was the last thing I'm missing from my old rooted phone. I hope Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo add this feature to their consoles and OS's as well!

For me, App Languages is a game changer, incredible feature.
Yes, I agree
Why? In what cases you gonna use it?
Same as a Hyperpolyglot gigachad alphamale i like to have each app in a different language on my phone
what would be really nice if chat apps would push this to the next level, choosing languages per group so your keyboard autocorrect has a less hard time
I remember using that feature on my rooted phone circa 2015, weird to think it wasn't picked up by manufacturers earlier

How does it even work? Can you even read my comment?
Like maybe your sense of smell, or hearing is better (if that's a thing)
Sorry, I don't mean to be rude or anything, I'm just very curious.

Google lens is although already miles ahead of anything like it.
You didnt evolve properly.
Devs need to patch you. 🤔
Or, really, almost anything that's processed in any way.)
Hopefully they bring this to other countries than just the US too. But it's Google, so it's probably only going to be available in English and only in Silicon Valley for years, if it ever makes it to any non-Googler's phone.

Is it actually good? It sucked on Android 11 and 12, I never ever liked it. Is seeking through music reliable (is the tap to seek still disabled when tapping too close to the circle)? Which apps did you try the media player with?
Yes very cool update
Iphone is better. May as well switch to iOS.

App specific language is what I was waiting for for 10 years now! It would be also great you could set a default keyboard language on a per app basis.
Looking forward to that Pixel buds pro review.

Also, to see how they compare against the Sony WF-1000XM4. Still waiting to see if there's something better to upgrade to.
Your videos are amazing and the audio and video quality is good but also your topics is interesting
App specific language support is super useful, surprised to find out that android didn’t have that already. iOS has had it for a while now.
Where does iOS have it?
@@EpicWolverine in the Settings App you can search for the app and can change the language there

Yh I was pretty shocked that android didn’t have that , I use it all the time with my iphone
Looks like IOS isn't behind on everything like ppl love to say
I've wanted that per-app native language support for *years*. I'm gonna use the heck out of that.
Language learning is my primary hobby, and this would make so many things easier, especially with certain scripts. Been a long time coming.
I've been using app-specific languages on my iPhone for years and it's really convenient. I prefer to have my devices in English, but I like to use apps that are specific to Germany in German. It's a little strange that they require the app to support it on Android 13 though if it's basically pretending to the app that the phone is set to a different language.
Same I didn't even know that android didn't have it. Appreciate it even more now
Instead have different language settings conveniently accessible as a quick settings toggle. That's much more convenient. But of course Google are more interested in copying Apple than doing what makes sense
@@siriusradheoff8361 And Apple copied KDE on Linux, which has had this feature since way before iOS even existed.
Unfortunately the translation support in iOS is really really bad compared to Android. Recently moved from Android and this is one of the main reasons I am looking to go back.
@@DomnulFisk1 aye, that and Siri is embarrassingly bad. In a 13pro myself and I’m getting tempted to go back
So the main thing I've noticed with this update on my Pixel 6 Pro is that they've finally fixed the awful under display fingerprint scanner, which was the only thing that stopped me recommending this phone. Now it's pretty much perfect for me.
what about the battery ?
What problem were you having with the fingerprint scanner?
1:35 iPhone in the foreground. With a perfect background. For 3 difficult scenarios. This seems like a small 3 seconds to watch, but I believe it would've taken the better part of an hour to arrange that set-up. Hats off 🙌
Hey Marques, maybe you could do a similar vid on One UI 5? I know there's a bunch of those around, but given that this is how most people will experience Android 13, it seems to make sense.
This!
Yep I think so. Actually software releases are very popular be it iOS, Android or One UI, you can see how people get excited when you look at their official video. I think a video like Stock Android + One UI and even other Android skins would be cool.
Definitely, I am in the beta for One UI 5. There are some definite changes in terms of speed over Android 12.
A general skin review of all major brands on the same Android 13 would be great overall.
@@thetank48 what's your initial feelings on it?
individual app language support is great, hopefully in the future they consider other advance controls per apps like individual media/volume control per app and other accessibility features for individual apps
Just got it on my 4a. And surprisingly my phone is working super fast.
Haven't been loving Android since that last update and it's a shame there are still fewer customisation options than there used to be
Yeah it seems like each major update is just slight quality of life upgrades now.
The customisation was so nice in 11. A bit lean but better than these new ones... Been eying One UI.
I feel like one of the other main differences in why iOS number changes are watched more instead of Android number changes is a lot of the changes, Google does through app updates, iOS requires system updates
When Google announced the new tablet interface versions at Google IO, alot of that has already showed up, I see most of the Google apps already have a nice tablet experience. Most of the new stuff Apple announced at WWDC won't take effect until iOS 16 releases.
Spot on.
Now that Apple has a better voice to text option, I would be curious to see your thoughts on comparing all of the devices now including Pixels, Samsungs, Apple and general androids etc. Thoughts?
Yes. Faster voice to text has been in pixels since 2019. I am surprised this feature is not in any Samsung phones and hasn't even been ported yet
@@IYG-x7c i don't see the benefit.. Like why would someone use it? Other then driving.. Even then i dont use it while driving either. I just txt like a normal unsafe driver would.
@@dnegel9546 while driving, plus it's faster than typing in general. I like typing myself, but Googe fast voice typing is pretty impressive
Apple doesn't have a better voice to text option. This has been tested by a RUclips channel, iOS has a few advantages in voice to text like better punctuation but overall is worse
@Made•In•Heaven 天国 just use Google assistant to make a note of that, do that on my Samsung. Also set reminders doing that.

@@IYG-x7c yea but the data is still there I think
@@robmalcolm8042 iPhone 1?lol I can tell u never used any iPhone before
I remember having language settings on a per app basis was one of the reasons I rooted my phone in like 2016.

It's not consumers' fault. The phone companies don't push updates in order to render older models obsolete.
exactly once you have an unlocked bootloader you can switch to lineage os which actually gives you updates on time it's 100% your phone manufacturer baking in planned obselesance
Good to hear - what glitches were you noticing? I'm still on Android 11 on my Pixel 5 and it seems to be working well.
