Great video of a winter wounderland. Thanks for taking care of the trans west driver. I'm sure he would have appreciated a hot meal and a coffee after spending a cold night in the truck.
Insane, l really hate the snow, it’s too cold for me and l have a fear of been fozen to death. I only go down to the South Island in summer. The only time l have driven through ice and snow was through the volcanic plateau. Even when l stayed in Canada l let the Canadians drive. Funny thing is l never got that magical white Christmas in Canada but l got one in Dunedin one Christmas morning when we woke up to snow. Crazy. Thank you so much for this video. Have subscribed.
You didn't learn to drive on snow, worked in the conditions doing the Twizel milkrun 1975 1988, nothing holds on ice , unless you fitted chains, pull over and stop best idea
A Tiny bit of snow not even 4cm and everything is stopped, fuck back in the 70s we had 24cm in 3/4 of an hour by 2 1/2 hours 40 cm deep and we were still driving through it in Lake Tekapo 3 days later another 30 cm of snow and it frozen solid we didn't see the Tar sealed Road for 4 weeks and we were still driving around with no problems at all so why can't anyone drive in the Snow to day!! ? Its like no one has any Skills to Drive to Day 😮😅😂😅😂😅😂😂😂
White out conditions, this road needs ploughing plus salting and you need chains to avoid slipping...so dangerous being out there unless you fully prepared...
This is a great video, Richard. Thanks so much for sharing this snow storm with us. Cheers
