When you said, "The wind is going absolutely crazy...", I was thinking, "Hell, yeah. Listen to it HOWL!" Then I paused the video - and the howling was just the sound of my heat pump as I enjoyed my coffee in bed. You're such a trooper, Abel.

First of all that is just not true, second of all, if your heart is beating fast enough to sound like wind then you’re probably going to die soon.
I live vicariously through your videos. Since I turned 70 I now surrendered to state parks with full hookups in my insulated 20' camper with queen bed. Keep it up as long as you can my friend.

After 10 years in the army having to ‘camp’ out in this kinda weather, now I’m 63 I still love it ! There’s no better feeling than when there’s a storm and you are nice n snug in your tent with a roaring fire , listening to the wind and rain outside. ( a hip flask of brandy for my coffee helps )

Favorite time to camp up here in the UPee of Michigan is winter and I camp for a few months straight while cutting tons (literally) of balsam.

As a young teenager, how 74, used to camp in this kind of weather in old canvas, bottomless tents when in the boyscouts. Minimum equipment. I was usually firstup in mornings starting the campfire. Then we'd spend the day hiking sometimes upto 10 miles! Missita lot. Thanks Abel for taking me back to another time ! Great vid !!

I’m currently camping in a WW2 small walled tent made of canvas. It’s summer here in the UK but bloody wet. The rain is just mental & this tent leaks a lot! I appreciate your struggle to bring us these videos
I suspect they used to treat tents like that back in the day--waxed the canvas, or was Scotch-Gard a thing back then? I think it was. Maybe that would help?

It’s always good to test your gear and yourself in trying conditions. Being able to trust your gear and yourself is a confidence booster and takes away a lot of the stress in difficult situations

Love watching these videos. Very entertaining, reminds me when I used to go bush back in the 1960s. I was younger then, now I'm knocking at the door at 70 and still going bush once or twice a year. Thanks for sharing your entertainment.

Just a short note to let you know I so much enjoy your videos, please continue making them. I can't get out of the house much now because of my leg but I love camping especially when it is cold and snowy

I love these winter videos when it's SUMMERTIME in Arizona! Crank up the cooler and a fan, turn out the lights and imagine wearing some warm, waterproof gear, like Abel has on, in a sleet/snow storm.

That's the kind of wild camping I like... hellish weather, but you know that you have all you need to keep you warm and dry. I do like nice sunny weather, but a night like that with shelter, a fire and good food is great fun. Out in the wild with just the basics... do it right and you'll be fine.
Smart move to go to that cabin and warm up , that is a strong tarp the wind is some thing else. And nice wood bashing you never let me down lol

As a person born in Puerto Rico and started RVing (Retired) in the US, I really admire how you guys do it. With just the equipment and gadgets you bring along. I couldn't picture myself or my wife doing that at our age anyway especially in COLD weather..Love your channel..and subscribed..
Abel, you are a warrior……. That wind and dampness would crumble most of us. I would have never left that cabin you stopped in but who am I kidding……. I would have never been able to climb that far to reach it. The camp set up was as ideal as you could make it in that wind. Loved the meatball pasta. That looked like money!! Your English muffins looked pretty awesome as well. The camp changed so much when the wind died down. Snow was perfect add on. Thanks as always Abel. All the best to Victoria!!

Its 78 degrees Fahrenheit here in upper Michigan, USA. Summer for us. Watching you drink that coffee and listening to the wind blowing and thinking I'm cold, I need a cup of coffee. Then reality hit, oh yeah, its not my storm. Sit back and enjoy my cold Monster.

Loving it. The weather ~ the wind ~ blow you away ~ and it stops ~ what’s it gonna do now? You make it exciting and keep your head about you when it’s blowing so dang hard. I’m not a fan of the wind because of the damage it can cause. Took us over a year to get our place where it didn’t look like a tornado went thru. Still have a 300 year old tree down. Cost too much to get it moved. So it will have to burn slowly. What do you do? But things are better now and it looks a lot better around here. Hard work. Thanks Abel for your great videos. I love them.

That was some very challenging conditions for camping! With the very high winds, rain, sleet and snow. Plus how cold it was. But it was a very good camp. You should do a video called Processing fire wood and starting a fire even if the wood is wet by Abel. 👍 I enjoyed watching, thanks for enduring the harsh weather for us!

It really did look cold in your video, but man, you make it look like it's cozy with the chair cover and and all that stuff. Love it and love your videos! I'm mainly a day hiker and that's what my videos consist of but I want to start doing some overnight backpacking and bikepacking this year. Videos like this motivate me!
