Wait for the snow storm to build up the intensity with more snow, and I take a walk through some native bush a relatively easy walk looking for photo opportunities, unfortunately, my camera got a bit of water in the internals and decided to shutdown, but it was good to be in the environment and I hope you enjoyed watching

Knowing the snowstorm was coming I got up into the hills early before they shut the roads to get some filming and Drone photography done. I really enjoyed my three days up there until the roads were opened again #asmr #camping #Smallbasecamp
South Island NZ Snow Storm the day after

After being stuck for 24 hours, I found an area clear enough to fix my four-wheel drive and then moved on to find I was stuck at another place that had a fallen tree, which I had to deal with before I finally got some photos

Where about s
Duffer's creek West coast
Yeah, with their 40 years ago Went to America and live in the north-west now when it snows I just go to the south west
What's the endgame for this project?
Amazing. Does it snow often in NZ? South island probably gets more snow I assume?
All I see is "men see, men like". And that's fair enough honesty.
Thanks for your feed back cheers Richard 😀
Send it to Volvo, hee hee. Might pay you.
Thanks, nice catch.
Cheap gravel ! No weighing slip, no bill ! That's the best way to do the job !
a good video
thanks, Mate
That looks like my kind of job in Tasman we aren’t allowed to extract gravel from the river because of the greeny so gravel comes from Canterbury
looks like there is lots of it
What size digger is that
don't know sorry
I'd say, at least 40T

A wonderful video here, Richard. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure with us. I will do exactly the same in the coming years as I had never even considered it in the past. Are those manning the road blocks happy for people to travel if they are in four wheel drives with chains, or do they stop everyone other than essential services?
Thanks, Mark for watching , Just as long as you have chains fitted they are happy to let you go through
@@richardfoot Cheers for the information, Richard.
So beautiful gives peace of mind thanks for sharing it
Thanks for watching 🙏
Thanks again, Richard. Magical footage in this video.
Glad you enjoyed it
This is a great video, Richard. Thanks so much for sharing this snow storm with us. Cheers
Very welcome
It's a bit eerie when everything is covered in snow, I have to pause at times and ask myself, "hang on, where exactly am I?" LOL
Quite disorientating, eh. The lens of the camera doesn't always help, either. Then you see a landmark of the area and you are away again.
Yeap it makes the ordinary extraordinary ✨️
nice stream.....wheres that richard ?
Hi Steve it was at craigieburn Cheers Richard 🍻
Excellent photos! Definitely better with snow. The braided rivers are absolutely awesome and quite rare in the world. Always best viewed via drone and flying in to Christchurch from southern Australian states.
just working on another snow-covered braided river video, cheers Richard
I can't work out where that might have been. In any case it looks like you were in your element, as would I!
I was parked up at Cave Stream Reserve and waited 24 hours
Oh, your handling of the drone while driving is masterful!
Thanks, Hamish i was using a Insta 360 x4 camera on a 3 mitre pole and it is easy thanks for watching
@@richardfoot Oh. I couldn't see the pole. That's probably even more difficult! Cheers
@@HamishPerkins insta 360 x4 automatically takes out the pole
It was good watching your video. I got some valuable tips on equipment I should get for my upcoming trip, particularly in situations I would be likely to encounter also. Thanks! Enjoy your travels.
thanks Hamish
Beautiful area the road takes you into Mt White Station.
Yes indeed!
Memories of skiing at CUSC Temple Basin
glad it brought back some memories for you
Thank you Richard, such enjoyable viewing.
Brilliant scenery of our beautiful country
this truck driver needs a hiding haha...what was he thinking driving in this condition...
Wow what a Beautiful showcase of NZ's Stunning scenery.
Glad you enjoyed it
where is Tony AB camping from all of this snow 😁
Yes and I think he has the same type of motorhome I've got 4x4 ,I would have said hello if I'd seen him
More great videography, while wait for my system to update and upgrade
WOW BEAUTIFUL
Thank you so much
"Global Warming"
Wow so beautiful in what part of new Zealand is this? Thanks
between Castle Hill and Arthur's Pass Thanks for watching
I didn't know that new Zealand had a snow thank to you now I know
Yes it does snow in New Zealand and they're saying was the warmest we've had in a while
I The scenery is awesome, but i’am happy it’s still summer here in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Great scenery mate , thanks !
Wow fantastic video and scenery amazing 😊
Beautiful!
thanks for watching
Beautiful! Wish it had snowed like that a month ago when we were visiting the south island.
What make and model is your camper?
1997 Isuzu 4x4 thanks for watching
White out conditions, this road needs ploughing plus salting and you need chains to avoid slipping...so dangerous being out there unless you fully prepared...
Dangerous please safe your self for snow sliding
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow amazing video you done ✔️ thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for sharing! Beautiful! Hi from the USA.
Thanks for watching!
A Tiny bit of snow not even 4cm and everything is stopped, fuck back in the 70s we had 24cm in 3/4 of an hour by 2 1/2 hours 40 cm deep and we were still driving through it in Lake Tekapo 3 days later another 30 cm of snow and it frozen solid we didn't see the Tar sealed Road for 4 weeks and we were still driving around with no problems at all so why can't anyone drive in the Snow to day!! ? Its like no one has any Skills to Drive to Day 😮😅😂😅😂😅😂😂😂
Hi mate Cool footage What brand and model camera are you filming with when cruising along in the camper there Cheers
insta x4
You didn't learn to drive on snow, worked in the conditions doing the Twizel milkrun 1975 1988, nothing holds on ice , unless you fitted chains, pull over and stop best idea
Going by the noise of the camper is it a 4x4 and didyouhave chains on .?
yes its 4x4 and had chains on
