I think that might actually go for all of them! Removing something from the internet is almost impossible these days, no matter how much Nintendo may want it
Yeeah, feels bad when these fan games get shutdown, but they say companies have to do so to protect their IPs, though Capcom and Sega seem more okay with it these days. At least these games got to be released before getting taken down, and probably can still be downloaded somewhere on the net. Sadly, a Chrono Trigger fan game called Crimson Echoes got hit weeks before its release, though I think incomplete builds of that game exist on the net to play.
yeah it's pretty sad. Imagine spending more than 10 years to make a game but then it just gets shut down after a single day :x That would feel like a huge waste of time to me...
I know Star Fox is pretty much a Dead series at this point and not a lot of people even know about it anymore compared to the big names like Super Mario Legend of Zelda Pokémon Animal Crossing Fire Emblem Etc. But I was a massive fan of the ambitious fan project - "StarFox: Shadows of Lylat." It was basically like Star Fox assault mixed with the the animation fluidity of Starfox adventures but had the tight controls of the air combat from Star Fox 64 all in one. I kept up with that project since my early High School Days. And as a massive fan of the series since I was little I was over the moon about that fan project and was trying to save up for a gaming PC for when it released. I'm like Nintendo who never touched the series in over 10 years at that point Nintendo was too afraid to take the series into a new Direction. So it's its creator know as SOL team. A darker story that actually moved on from Star Fox 64 and wanted to do something different with its massive expansive universe. Try to think of something like into the spider-verse but it was all things Star Fox. It even brought back characters from the old comic series that Nintendo refused to incorporate into the official games. But of course somewhere around 2015 the project was officially canceled and taken down...gee, can't imagine why... And then years later we ended up getting the garbage soulless game known as Star Fox Zero... Bland boring uninspired and just lame all the way around. Just another wannabe clone of Star Fox 64 instead of trying to actually move on with the series and do something interesting. I swear the Star Fox franchise has become like Sonic the Hedgehog they're in such a hard identity crisis and are solely relying on nostalgia just to even try and make a single sale because they have no Direction with the series and don't know what to do outside of reliving the old days which is already boring and redone time and time again. An ambitious fan project that was made by passionate hardcore fans that was going to be interesting and very in depth with a great large expansive story ended up getting shut down by the official creators who made a far more boring and less interesting game as a result? Yeah...f--- Starfox Zero.
The good thing about many of these is if you know where to look, youll still find them. Hell ive heard that AM2R is still getting fan updates, and even has a randomizer now. Heck, i still have AM2Rv1.1 in my dropbox because i dont ever want that game to die. As the infamous saying goes, once its on the internet, its always there~
The reason why these fan games were taken down was because they were based on already made Nintendo games, and it's also because they were remakes and sequels
One of the Fan games that you missed that was also banned by Nintendo was Pokemon Legends it was pretty much like PokeNet but was far better from the story to the features the game provided such as multiplayer tournaments and trading. It was stopped like 2 years ago, I assume that it was stopped by Nintendo due to them about to release Pokemon Legends Arceus.
I hate when company's do this it's only ruining people dreams and their reputation be cause if Nintendo removes a good fan game for no reason then people will hate on Nintendo and likely won't buy Nintendo products so no Nintendo pls stop removing good fan games
Imma make a small correction: at 7:55 ish you say that AM2R has a similar visual style to super metroid which is (kinda) wrong because it is meant to be the "Zero Mission style" remake of Metroid 2. Also I personally think that AM2R is great everywhere except the Alpha and Gamma metroid fights which in general are utter BS and are extremely hard to damage in the first place due to their erratic movement (maybe only the alpha metroids because I haven't actually played far enough to fight a gamma but from what gameplay I've seen the gammas aren't much better) so in terms of the main enemy of the game the official remake did it a lot better. another thing: AM2R did eventually get updates in the form of community updates and the latest one is... 5 months old? maybe? I'm not sure but it did get updates to fix bugs and add a few new things including the option of being able to play it on mobile! (where alpha metroids are hell because of the fact that it is difficult to move while aiming at the same time so these fights may end up being reliant on how lucky you are) one last thing: personally I think that the official metroid 2 remake is more of a reimagining of the game while AM2R is a more faithful remake, I think that both of these are able to completely replace the original game
Pokemon Uranium is thankfully preserved and available for everyone to play now.

Correction: AM2R had its visual style based if of Zero Mission, not Super Metroid

@@reggie3313 Yeah, that is true... At least anything posted on the net will be there forever, so people can still play them... unless it's online Dx

At this point, it's better to make games inspired by Nintendo games, but make sure that you make new IP's with them.
Somehow, I managed to get my hands on Missing Link before it got yeeted.
pokemon uranuim has downloads available still and can be accessed on their website, just downloaded it earlier today

Why couldn’t those people make a game some what similar but still is original in its own way so it won’t get taken down
exactly, it seems they made a decision to stab themselves in the back.
It wouldn't be a fangame
The reason why these fan games were taken down was because they were based on already made Nintendo games, and it's also because they were remakes and sequels
The "exactly" Same Bubble Bobble Fan Games preserved Long Enough to be Marked High-Quality by Taito
