  • CHEAP TO BUY AND EASY TO FLY !!! EACHINE MINI F4U CORSAIR: ESSENTIAL RC FLIGHT TEST
    MINI F4U CORSAIR AVAILABLE HERE: www.banggood.c...
    MINI P-51 MUSTANG AVAILABLE HERE: www.banggood.c...
    The Eachine P-51 Mustang was a massive hit last year. They could not make them fast enough to keep up with demand. No surprise because it flew so well with its 3 mode stabilisation system. Building on the success of the P-51 Eachine have now released the F4U Corsair. An iconic warbird of the 1940s/1950s.
    You get everything you need to fly the F4U Corsair in the box with the exception of 4 AA batteries for the transmitter. You can buy the Corsair with either 2 or 3 batteries so you don't have to limit yourself to one flight. It is very easy to hand launch. Flies straight out of your hand with a gentle throw and flies on rails due to the onboard stabilisation system. Only use Expert mode if you are a genuine expert at flying RC aircraft. I found MIDD mode enough fun with just the occasional switch into Expert mode for loops and rolls.
    This model is very resilient to any knocks. The propeller is designed to pop off and is easily clicked back in place. Despite that a spare propeller is included in the box.
    Filmed by Nic for the 'Essential RC' RUclips channel using the Panasonic AG-UX180 Pro 4K camcorder at our local model flying club. Dom on the sticks flying the Eachine Mini F4U Corsair.

    Back in the day, I think late 60s, my bro got a Cox's Gloplug control line airplane for xmas, I think it was a Spitfire. He had many hours of frustration trying to get the engine going and then when he did he found flying it was next to impossible. It spent many years packed up in the box it came in just 3 days after xmas. These planes are just amazing, I bet he would have really appreciated one of these instead .

    True story....when I was a lad, I had one similar to this with a recharged battery, but you could not shut it off manually, it just ran for about four minutes and the fun was over when the battery died. One particularly windy day, it got out of range and flew away into the sunset. As I stand there crying like a baby, five minutes later it comes gliding back to me, landing maybe 30 yards away. I never let it get out of range again, still have it but never fly it. More of a relic and a memory now.

      I've flown rc planes for years and for certain these planes are a great way to get into it, for not much money and a plane that looks good. I bought them just to have fun in my front yard. My big planes require so much more space so these are worthy any day fliers. They take a beating too, but be sure to get extra props of you do go for it. And once you have trained your brain, jumping to a bigger plane with a gyro is easier than just diving in. I'm not selling them, I just have some friends who keep saying the same thing. If you're inclined, this is a great place to start. Keep in mind the capabilities of the electronics get so much better with the bigger planes. But the price tag goes up too, still cheaper than it was 20 years ago!

      These little birds are beyond awesome. I started rc flying when I was 10 or 11 and quit flying when I was like 14 or so I think. I spend more and more time playing video games and less time being outdoors. I love flight sims and also spend a lot of time flying rc sims. But now that I have my own money I wanted to get back into the hobby and give the mustang a chance.
      Without any real 4 channel flight experience, I had my maiden flight on the same day the plane arrived and it was a windy day. I was surprised by how easy it was to actually get, and keep it in the air. But beginners mode is essential for at least the first few take offs.....I soon switched to mid mode and on the second day I turned off the gyro. Doing manual rolls, flips, flying inverted....all on the single day of flying after a pause of around 7 years and less experience at all. I dont want to brag, just want to tell how awesome and beginner friendly this little plane is. I´m kinda scared to switch to bigger models because the p51d and f4u are so easy to fly that I might overestimate my abilites xD

      @@MrHamsterworld Hey ! I´m still flying both of them and ordered a third T28 Trojan from the same company. I´d say all 3 of those warbirds have the same flight abilities so they are equally good. I personally prefer flying the corsair, but just for the looks. The Mustang and Trojan are equally as good.
      And btw the planes are extremely durable. I had a lot of crashes and some were really hard nose down into concrete, but the planes are still flying like when they were new and nothing needed repair.

      @@MrHamsterworld Have fun with it, the corsair is really beautiful. Just be careful if you fly it in the evening when the sun sets and the sky turns a darker blue. The blue color of the corsair will blend in with the dark blue sky and it will be hard to see the plane. So when I want to fly very high (they can fly pretty high) i do it when it is cloudy because you see the plane better under grey clouds.

  • @ollibolly

    I have received my corsair 2 days ago. today was the maiden flight, no wind. I also have the Mustang of this line. The Mustang was my first rc plane and I have bought it after having seen all the videos. Its a perfect beginner plane and I am stepping up slowly from Mid- mode to Expert. Of course the Transmitter has a "cheap" feeling and in expert mode the plane is very touchy, but i get used to it. Mid Mode allows loops and rolls coming out of a loop. coming out of a loop on top allows some nice inverted flying for a short time. I think these are really nice planes. I have cut off the rear wheel and dont use landing gear. Handling and looks are very beautiful. Flying time is always over 10 Minutes and landings are very easy, by switching off throttle and pulling elevator short before touching down. Visibility and orientation of the Mustang is much better, because of its paint scheme. Now a short review of the Corsair.: I got it from the preorder batch for 64 Euro including shipping (3 batteries). Waiting time was pretty long. Its a nice little plane, but paint is not very durable, therefore i have repainted the yellow part with revell color.On the maiden flight i noticed, that it is faster than the Mustang and very agile. In mid mode its possible to perform 2 full rolls upwards, when i pull the elevator from a dive. its very beautiful. quick turns are possible with both planes in mid mode, when pulling elevator in addition to aileron. on my Corsair I noticed, that elevator was moving a bit slow. I disengaged the pushrod and noticed, that the hinge on the elevator was very stiff. So I was just bending it by hand up and down several times. Now everything works fine. Both planes level perfectly in beginner and mid mode, but after switching in expert mode, i noticed, that the corsair was dragging upwards and a little to the right, which i have corrected by bending the rods a bit.My conclusion: a lot of fun for little money. Nice flight time with a battery. After getting used to it, you can fly them almost anywhere. I would love, if eachine was building a spitfire and a Focke Wulff. The upcoming Trojan would not be my favourite.Thanks to all for uploading videos. This is very useful for potential buyers .As I have bought the Volantex 750mm Mustang also (the reviews were pretty promising.), I was pretty much disappointed from the quality of this plane (Nose cone and 4 Blade propeller are sh.. )Foam on the right aileron was very soft and bent. In flight plane was drifting to the right, even though that I have corrected all surfaces. I noticed later, that the receiver, that is held by adhesive tape, was not installed level, so the gyro was always trying to balance that, which resulted in dragging the plane to the right.

    Is there are difference in the flying capabilities between this Corsair and the P51?
    In full scale I though the Mustang was a much faster plane but the design of the Corsair allowed it to be much more manoeuvrable at lower speeds. I gather the dropped wing was because it used a bigger prop and they needed clearance for the landing gear (not sure if that is true).

    On the basis of your review I have bought one of these - hopefully through your affiliate Banggood link (think I did it properly).
    My first flight yesterday was interesting. I misread the marking on the controller and put it into expert mode instead of beginner. (Thought the down arrow meant up etc) My first flight lasted about 10 seconds which in hindsight was pretty good. The field I was in is mostly sand, which is not good for nose dives. Sand got into the engine bay and the movement was a bit crunchy for a while. I’m not sure whether I lost foam in a crash, but the gearbox is now visible just under the prop, which allowed more sand it - a bit of tape should fix that.
    My 4th flight resulted in a broken prop - sand is a bit too restrictive. So new prop and moved to a park with grass.
    After about four more crashes I twigged two things - I was able to do vertical and inverted flight (unintentionally) - and realised I probably wasn’t in beginner mode. When I flicked to what I thought was expert, I could feel the gyro and the penny dropped.
    Now in beginner mode I had several successful flights, before parking it in a tree with dark green leaves. The dark blue Corsair could be a stealth fighter if it could fly in dark green leaves. I was 3 feet from it before I could see it. Luckily I could keep hitting the motor to give me an audio direction.
    Thanks for the video. I’ve had fun. Today is a hangar day - 15-20kmh winds would make it way too exciting. Even in yesterday’s 0-5kmh winds, the difference in lift into and with the wind is substantial. (I get what the F1 drivers experience with downforce differences)

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  4 года назад

      Thanks for feedback Steve. Do not fly electric prop planes on the beach. Sand will get into the electric motor windings/bearings and break it very easily. Sorry to hear you used Expert mode first. Even I find this difficult. Stick to the other modes and have fun ! Cheers - Dom (Essential RC)

    Would you say this one handles wind better than the Mustang? With the P51 I find it's quite willing too let the nose be pushed aside in a breeze. The Sports Cub doesn't have this as much, at least not for me.

    • @EssentialRC
      @EssentialRC  4 года назад

      Yeah, I think so. I was a lot of fun to just slow it up and see how stable it was into the mild breeze. The P-51 was fairly good at that but the larger wing on the Corsair makes it even more stable.

      @rc-fannl7364 4 года назад

      @@EssentialRC The P51 can suddenly drop a wing if you get too slow. Based upon your video, it seems the Corsair has a wider flight envelope, being able to fly slower, yet remain stable, with slightly higher top speed too.
