I've struggled with maintaining a diet until I discovered your channel. Your recipes are very helpful in staying consistent. They're simple but taste amazing. Thank you!
I LOVE hearing this Ken!
In the video you don’t specify how long to naturally release the pressure. My instant pot has a timer for natural release, it starts to count up from L000. Do I wait until L010 or longer?
@@frankie142622 At lesast L010 :) That is natural pressure release for 10 minutes.
@@AMindFullMom Thank you 😊
Great recipe with minimum ingredients. Chicken breasts do come out juicy and soft. This is now my 3rd time making it and it comes up great every single time.
Thanks for sharing you enjoy this recipe Amelia!
I absolutely love your videos! They're so easy to follow and you really make someone feel more comfortable using their instant pot! Thank you for your videos! Big fan!! 👏🫶
You are so welcome! Your kind words mean a lot!
Thank you for this video! You are an excellent teacher! All your instructions were clear, concise, and thorough. Excellent presentation of information! No superfluous yaking on and on 🥱as some presenters do and no annoying music.
I look forward to viewing other videos you have on RUclips and I just hit "subscribed". Will definitely try this chicken method. Thanks again. Good job!
Glad it was helpful!
works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside ruclips.net/user/postUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.
I made this recipe as my first one in an eight quart instant pot that a dear friend gave to us for house sitting while they were away. It turned out great and I’ve done some other things since then. I came back to rewatch and try it again. Of course I tweaked it a little bit but I’m following the instructions as intended. Boy it smells good. Thanks for the video.
Wonderful! I am thrilled this recipe is a hit for you
Great information thank you
I’ve been following this recipe for awhile it’s the best!

I am sharing this with my family! LOL! Thanks
My instant pot has been on a shelf for ages. I remember my first chicken attempt and it was as you described: tough and rubber like. Your recipe is magic. The chicket tenders took less than 10 minutes total (6 cooking) and were super tender, fall apart. On the spot I made a quick and easy chicken sandwich with some leftover pineapple tidbits and bib lettuce. Deeeee licious. Tonight I'll use the remainder for a strawberry chicken salad, almonds, spinach bib lettuce and almonds. Thank you so much for generating a new interest in using my instant pot. New subscriber!
YAY! So happy you gave this recipes a try after your first failed attempt!

So yummy! Pickle juice is delicious as well.
Pickle juice does add a nice flavor as a brine--I haven't tried it as the cooking liquid. I will have to do that :)

Thank you so much for this technique and the cooking times for different size chicken breasts. It worked perfectly, and despite my apprehension, the chicken does not taste like pineapple. I allowed natural pressure release, and the chicken was tender and juicy. Just great!

Kristen, Wow! What a great idea. I tried it and it WORKS! Now let me return the favor to you and your viewere. I keep a bath towel in my kitchen. I put it over my Instapot before I release the steam. I mean I completelty COVER the pot. The only thing that gets steam burned in my kitchen is my towel! Please feel free to share. God bless you and keep you safe. JC
Thanks for sharing!
Wow only 4 things? ❤ Loved it
It is amazingly simple!
Thanks for another really useful video👍
Am intrigued about the pineapple juice, so will definitely give it a try.
Also I have been using 15mins + No Release (10mins) for large frozen breasts. So it looks like I can try reducing that by a minute or two...
If your chicken is REALLY large, 10 minutes would work, but if not, 8 minutes is best. I think you will like the pineapple juice.
The time is the most important. I used chicken broth , and lots of my favorite seasonings. ( I made chicken salad out of mine) It came out perfect. 😊
Love that!
This is so helpful thank you! Has anyone tried this with tenderloins? What time would you put?
I would cook for 4 minutes on high pressure :)
I use pickle juice for tenderizing and it’s amazing 💗😋
Great idea as well!
I will try that! Do you let it marinate in the juice beforehand, or just use it as the pineapple juice is shown here? Speaking of pickle juice... Know what else it's good for? Cramps! (Leg cramps, menstrual cramps, back spasms, etc...) There is debate on whether it is the instant restoration of electrolytes (salt), or the acidity (vinegar) which triggers a specific nerve response, or the placebo effect. I have no opinion on HOW it works, I just know, first hand, that it DOES WORK. And FAST. Just chug a couple ounces of straight juice when you get a cramp. Goes away almost instantly.
@@heidis8713 I have heard that before! Great tip and thank you for sharing. As for the pineapple juice, I don't marinate it, simply cook.
Thanks a lot for this recipe! It's an amazing tip with the pineapple juice!!
My pleasure 😊 We love this one!
This is amazing!!! I couldn’t find garlic so I used just the chicken breasts, salt, and pineapple juice. Wow! Quick and DELICIOUS! I will be using this recipe all the time.
Fabulous!!
great video. pineapple juice sounds like standard (but good) Hawaiian chicken tbh. love it
So good!
Hi thank you for the video , mine has an option for high or low temp adjust ….. which do you recommend?
Always use High temp unless the recipe VERY clearly says otherwise (I can't think of a time low pressure is best)
Pineapple 🍍 juice!! Yum!
So good!
Pineapple juice??? Well, I am definitely going to try this recipe. Thanks for sharing!
It is a game changer. I hope you enjoy
How long does it take for the natural release on pressure. Thank you
I would plan on 10 minutes
I was cooking my fresh chicken breasts according to frozen chicken breast cook times. Hopefully this changes everything for the better.
It should! I hope you enjoy!
derful Video! Just wondering what the average wait time for the pressure to fully release on a 6min high pressure cycle? I've been waiting 30 mins. Will the pressure valve go down when it is finished releasing??
Hey there! If you are only using 1 cup of liquid, it should be no longer than 10-15 minutes. The pressure valve will go down once the pressure has been released.
If not sure after 10 minutes take a long cooking fork and gently tap that release valve from afar. You'll see then.
Can this be cooked in power pressure cooker xl? The settings are different.
I believe there is a way to do a time adjustment and just cook on high pressure. (The function is time adjustment) try that
Thanks, will try that!
I can’t wait to try this! I deal with gallbladder issues
I hope you enjoy! This is low fat, so it should be a good reciep for you!
My instant pot does not have manual button, can you suggest another setting to use and time ? Thanks
Pressure cook is the same as the manual button. Let me know if you don't have that.
Yes I have pressure cook that’s good to know thank you so much you’re so kind have a blessed day
How long should we let the natural release go for? 10 minutes, or more?
10 minutes is best!
How would you cook using a trivet, so the fat drips out? How long and how much water?
You would simply place the trivet over the liquid and cook for the same amount of time. For lean chicken breasts, I find they dry out using this method, so cooking IN the liquid is best.
Great video! Can I use pineapple juice powder and water instead of actual juice?
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it, it will be a bit overpowering
@@AMindFullMom thank you!
Hi, thanks for this recipe. Can you suggest a sauce to be made from the left over flavored pineapple juice?
It would be delicious for a bbq sauce or to cook rice in.
@@AMindFullMom Thank you for two good suggestions!
Great thumbnail
Thank you!
How do I let the pressure release on its own?
Hi there! I have a video that walks that all through: ruclips.net/video/qwnhnrZ4r6o/видео.html It simply means to do nothing after the cooking time has elapsed and allow the lid to unlock (or the valve to float down) on its own.
On venting or sealing??
For pressure to be reached, it must be sealed.
can you use a trivet?
While you can, I don't recommend it for this recipe. Placing the chicken in the liquid will allow it to absorb the pineapple juice and garlic which will season and tenderize the meat.
Looking forward to trying this. My only problem is that I can never find a package of chicken breast that are all the same size.
Edit: I wonder if I could try cutting them up into equal size chunks?
YES!!! I was just going to say, you can cut them to be even in size :)
Can you add another sauce plus the pineapple juice? For example if I want to make chicken in a marinara sauce with potatoes…?
Oh, I don't think that combination would work. The acidity from the pineapple juice would react with the acidity of the marinara and be off-putting. I haven't tried chicken with potatoes and marinara but I would suggest dicing potatoes of choice, into large 4-inch pieces, placing them on bottom of inner pot, season with salt and pepper, add 1.5 cups of chicken stock. Add seasoned chicken on top of potatoes, then top with marinara. Cook on high pressure for 6-8 minutes depending on size of chicken breasts.
How long do you let it naturally release?
I recommend 10 minutes.
I made chicken in my IP last night and it was perfect 👍🏻
Wonderful. Thanks for sharing
You said frozen was okay, but they were stuck together. I did everything as you said, but chicken had raw areas so trying for another 5 minutes. Hope on of these days I will make something edible!
Hey there! So when cooking frozen, you want to be sure they are not frozen together. You can run them under cold water until the chicken breasts loosen apart. Then cook as directed.
Natural release with warm button ON or OFF ????
It makes zero difference :)
Does it get softer if we cook it more? Like 45min? Or does it make it dryer
Hi Melina! It would become much drier.
What is quick release? Is letting it release naturally still opening the pressure bulb?
Hey there! Quick release is to not touch the pressure bulb. In the case of this recipe, that is for at least 10 minutes. Here is a video where I explain it so much: ruclips.net/video/qwnhnrZ4r6o/видео.html
@@AMindFullMom thank you so much for explaining!!!
Can you cook carrots and potatoes in with chicken breast 0 if so how long to cook
I would use chicken stock, cut the potatoes and carrots into 2-inch chunks and cook as you would the chicken.
Is there a healthier alternative that you would suggest using instead of pineapple juice because of all the sugar in it im trying to stay away from alot of sugar
Hi there! Feel free to use chicken broth.
I am making a curry and I've left it on pressure for 90 minutes... chicken mush? I am sure it will taste great:-)
YIKES!!!
It turned out fine... chicken consistency was like stewed chicken, easy to chew and infused with the sauce. Nothing like pressure to tenderize-
What if you cant have pineapple because of allergies?
Whats a substitute?
I would use chicken broth :)
What if I use frozen chicken breasts? I am new to the Instant Pot.
I add 5 minutes to the cooking time if frozen :)
Sounds good. I think I would just buy a bottle of pineapple juice and use what I need out of it and then just drink what's left over since I love pineapple juice.
Not a bad idea! Pineapple juice is so good!
I have bone-in chicken breasts, does this change the time calculation? I have a one-pound bone-in breast to cook, I guess that qualifies as big (!) so will 8 minutes still work?
I would cook for 9-10 minutes to account for the bone.
I always do about a half hour
Thi, thanks for the recipe. Why can’t we use freshly juiced pineapple juice?
I find it can cause a burn notice.
Another great recipe for cooking chicken breasts. If I use a scale I was told to cook the frozen breasts for one minute per ounce of chicken breasts. Is this correct? Furthermore, how would I cook these in teriaki sauce in the instant pot. Oh, yes, I have a three quart instant pot. Do you have any advice or tips and tricks? Thanks so much. May God bless you and your family.
Hi there! Thank you for the blessings! A few things. I actually cook frozen chicken longer than 1 minute per ounce. That is actually how long I cook it when thawed. As for a Chicken Teriyaki here is my recipe: amindfullmom.com/instant-pot-teriyaki-chicken/ and here is my video: ruclips.net/video/ToTuygUho6Q/видео.html . For a 3-quart IP, you will always need 3/4 cup thin liquid and most recipes will need to be cut in half. I state that in my printable recipes when applicable. I hope that helps and blessings to you as well.
@@AMindFullMom Thanks so much for your informative reply. So, how long should I cook two frozen chicken breasts in my 3 quart Instantpot? Thanks
@@movingforwardJohn316 I cook small chicken breasts for 10 minutes, medium 11 minutes, and large 12 minutes. Here are my full instructions: amindfullmom.com/instant-pot-chicken-breasts/
Would this chicken be good mixed in homemade chicken soup ? I wasn’t sure with the pineapple?
After it is cooked, yes! Just use the shredded chicken (not the cooking liquid) I use it in savory recipes all the time. I wouldn't add the chicken soup while pressure cooking, as mixing directly with the pineapple juice would not be pleasant.
Thank you ! I added it to a separate pot after draining the juice and shredding the chicken. It was similar to rotisserie. 😊
Most people are surprised by that after cooking in pineapple juice :) @@sunshineRN08
Would orange juice work?
I wouldn't recommend it. It would make the chicken a bit too acidic and bitter. I would use chicken broth instead of pineapple juice
Thank you 🎉 I have fibromyalgia and need easy ways to cook.
Take care of yourself! And I hope you love this easy recipe!
hi, what can I use to replace pineapple juice
Chicken broth will work great!
@@AMindFullMom Should the chicken broth be chilled? I read elsewhere in the comments section that using a hot liquid alters the cooking time.
Great question. If it is at room temp (below 72 degrees) it will be fine! @@Morncreek
What can I use in place of the pineapple juice?? I need to make boiled chicken and boiled rice for my dog. Thanks
Chicken stock or water since just for pup!

8 min per lbs or in total??

Is it possible to use the pineapple juice if I am planning on adding sun-dried tomatoes, olives and lemon zest?? Just seems like the combo may not work.
