Wow! This was such a great episode. Thanks for the fatherly advice at the end. You guys are heroes! I can't believe I get to watch this show for free. It has been a powerful source of encouragement for me as an audio engineering student. Keep up the amazing work! 👏👏👏
It says on the contest page you have to be present to be nominated. You will know before hand if you'll be nominated? or do you literally have to attend to even know of you're nominated?
I disagree with steeling music and accepting it or adapt to it. You don't adapt to shoplifters and find a way to monetize it. I know it's the future, but it feels wrong.
You get there with practical mixing and listening to your favourite mixes on different systems. One thing to keep in mind is to never think you can mix to sound to like a certain artist as your sound is your sound.
I met pharrell at the studio I intern at. He is a good dude, and he works really hard. No wonder he has the number 1 song right now.
Leslie is the TRUTH!! His "In a the Box" mixes sound as good or better than mixes done on consoles/SSL, etc.. And he mixes extremely fast too!
Your discussion on Napster, etc., was right on the money.
Wow, Happy is about to hit 1 Billion views. Props!
So many people get married to rough mixes. I love that you guys talked about that.
Leslie taught our class two weeks ago as a guest and he mentioned Dave Pensado several times. Great episode! Im doing good on my NY City mix so far :)
These men blessed us so many times over the years!! ❤
Leslie Interview begin at 14:20

May The lord Jesus Christ bring more success & wisdom to this show
Amen.
Leslie mixed the first record I ever had in rotation, "Superbad" by Diamond feat. CeeLo. Love that guy.

This was Hot and he did it all in the BOX! Things Do Change!

Bring ken Lewis :D
Who did he produce?
bring Andy Sneap! needs more rock/metal on the show
more of this!
Wait so how about some tips on mixing minimalist tracks? obviously you give the vocal alot of emphesis and use alot more of the stereo field.
That melody on the vocal is creepy!
+Tomer Iser Creepy is the best feeling. I want all my music to be creepy.
Great episode but I can't believe how bad Leslie's control-room sounds, maybe it's a skype thing..?
9 years agor he was already a decade in the box and some dude with 1000 plugins+ 100 hardware can't make a hit mix.

no refunds lol
Completely in the box with that cl1b sitting behind you?
A lot of hip hop engineers like using the cl1b when tracking vocals. That's probably what it's for.
Chuck Bass good point
u can c the cl1b?
the hockey jersey eww
Great episode!
