They're sleepers from the factory lol. 330hp AWD Turbo Manual launches nice and pulls to 115 easy. Never had anywhere to push it past that as Horry County 5-0 suck lol
these cars don't like blow off valves and they are completely useless and actually a hindrance to performance....it has a compressor bypass valve which recirculates the air and keeps the turbo spooled...if he wants to hear turbo noises all he needs to do is put a intake on and he'll be good..if he wants the noises to be louder then he can upgrade to a forge cbv and get tuned to run more boost.
I actually picked up my 07 S60R in early January, and I have to say I couldn't be more in love with it. I recently started running 10mm spacers up front and 15mm in the back (with extended lug bolts of course) for a better turning radius and to stop tire rubbing which I highly recommend as it's a cheap fix. If you want more turbo noise then you could just remove the hood blanket but as far as blow off you can't easily do much there as apparently it runs off internal wastegate. You could also get an aftermarket intake which make the turbo sound awesome and give a little extra power as the stock airbox is pretty restricted. An aftermarket down pipe makes the exhaust sound WONDERFUL and I am looking forward to installing one on my R along with a nice tune hopefully before summer. There are forums for everything you could ever possibly want to do to these cars and a wonderful community that is very and helpful and knowledgeable on them too. Congrats on your purchase and I hope to see some more of it soon!
Those headlight wipers are there because over in Sweden and surrounding areas, they have many dirt roads. The wipers are mandatory on the headlights. That car sounds awesome with an exhaust!!! Those 5 cylinders are a great sounding engine
Get the headlights built, take them apart and paint all the bezels black and paint the orange side markers black, reseal them, LED bulbs on everything. Window tint for sure. Exhaust for sure... Corsa 🤔 I’m sure Corsa doesn’t make a kit for that car, I could be wrong, but get like a Corsa sport muffler and have a full exhaust built. Those factory wheels look awesome, I love that they have the R on the wheel (which matches the brake calipers and the R stitching in the interior). I say leave the wheels, lower the car 2 inches all around and get wheel spacers do make the wheels flush with the fenders. And like that the car would be perfect 👌🏼

Customize the fuck out of it, that’s one of the reasons why I watch your channel all the crazy builds. Especially your race truck G fucking love it and the 5.0.
Clean out the PCV system to minimize the crankcase oil venting. It's a common Volvo problem, and is a somewhat involved job, but it's just part of the maintenance. They're great daily drivers. I miss my old 850 wagon.

I'm replacing mine with BC coilovers shortly from FCP Euro. The shifter is called the "spaceball" shifter. I'd highly recommend joining "Volvo P2 R owners" on Facebook. If you plan on driving this thing hard, you should research stage 0 and shimming the block as these love to crack even on completely stock cars. FCP Euro is going to be your new friend as they have the lifetime warranty on parts and this car will love a lot of those parts. You could maybe even reach out for some type of sponsorship of this car as well. I wish you luck with your ownership, I'm on my second now for daily driving and have two parts cars sitting around right now.
You may not be able to drift, but AWD is the way to go. My Pursuit has given me so much joy. AWD's are so versatile and fun to drive. That Volvo engine bay looks beautiful tbh despite the leaks.
HorsePlay Motoring they are also very tuneable I live in England and there are a lot of them gaining 40-50bhp at wheel on stage 1 map and 70-90 ibft of torque at wheels also sounds great with a decat ;)
The 2.5t sounds awesome with an exhaust, my xc70 has a straight pipe from the catback, love the way they sound, my v70R is being put together, needs a pem, front seats, and tires lol
My friend has a 04 x70r, with the same wheels, brakes, color, engine, and 6 speed and the only difference is the inside color and the fact that it’s a wagon and it hauls ass. It did 155 and it’s insane and it’s lowered
HELL YEA. Welcome to the swedish life! DO A STAGE 0 FIRST!! Look it up. These motors are really reliable still even after maxing the stock turbo out. I see people 350k miles and running 17psi on the stock motors.
You also can’t put a blow off valve it has cbv, the only way to put a blow off valve is if you change your complete intake and change your charge pipe to an ipd silicone one
Gavin - Please talk to Hank at Iroz motorsports!! When it comes to 5 cylinder engines he has the special sauce. Those cars are hidden sleepers and they make the best noises ever!! I’m pumped for this combo!
A downpipe with the stock mufflers and a tune will sound awesome and no drone. Pull strong. Increase milage too. Then Do wheels and suspension. That’s the perfect daily “build”
Do yourself a favor and have a mechanic go through the engine, driveshaft and axels and everything, and if it's all good, give it a stage 1 chip for eco, but torque increasement. Or a stage 2 for good power! You will not regret it! Also, if you want something special for the car, contact the swedish company KT4. They make hella awesome custom steeringwheels, they have their own turbo upgrades that makes insane difference. Also custom downpipes ;) Regarding mileage, dude that car is not even driven in yet. When you reach 200,000 miles it's driven in, just barely. Maintain it and it will never let you down.
For reference you cannot just mod the S60R like any other turbo car, the EMU is tied with all the electronics in the vehicle and there's no aftermarket system out for the car as of yet so you have to find someone who tunes with a Vida system which is extraordinarily complex. Something as simple as the wrong brand spark plugs will make the car have issues, I once had a friend fill up with 89 instead of 93 and my V70R started to misfire in less than 20 miles.
Haha I mentioned one in the comments a few videos back. The S60Rs are a ton of fun for the price. I daily one in the winter. The best part is, it’s a stupid sleeper. I’ve passed cops doing 20+ over the speed limit and they don’t even look twice because it’s a Volvo

It’s a Volvo it has a exhaust recirculation instead of a bov kinda like a vw and the squeal is just brembo squeal just get the quite lube for the brakes it’s red
The wipers on the headlight were removed on the facelift version that came 2005, so from 2005 the N series had headlight washers instead, so even the newer series such as the FAS 2 has the washers instead of the wipers cuz they found out that the wipers was kinda gay and they broke after like 200 miles and then stayed broken cuz they were to expensive to repair :D Just some Volvo fact from a Swedish Volvo fan ;)

One tip don't bang the gears in or be too aggresive with it. the transmission is pretty easy to break. Especially the third gear
