The Fg x look has definitely grown on me. In this model specifically it looks mint. Coming out right after the FG at the time I was like, Ford dropped the ball, but they’ve really aged well
I wouldn’t be so harsh on the crown vic, it’s a solid unit / but again it’s a very different car that is supposed to be rugged and proven in design / whereas the falcon platform is designed with street performance in mind akin to a skyline but a compromise with practicality as well

This model Falcon was the nicest ever made, and they were just getting better and better. I really like the FGX. FG is the best looking modern falcon but an FGX xr8/6t are prime. I really like the dark blue they come in 👌another good review of an aussie car Jono.
I drove the BA FPV 6-speed manual Typhoon, and a BA XR6-T 4-speed BTR auto when they were both new. I could keep either. The FPV had 10% more power, and 50% more gears. Both cars were fitted with factory C8 front brakes with the pillar vented rotors. These are the standard FPV Blue sliding caliper C8 calipers, that came in black on the XR6 as an (expensive) option. So what happened? Shockingly, the 4-speed auto was: - way, way, faster off the line - vastly more refined (decades ahead), like comparing a jet to a tractor - way, way, way...more drivable in all conditions, and especially in complex twisty undulating terrain, and 10 x that in the wet. Just use the sequential function, it is a revelation with that big beautiful 2000 rpm lock up stall convertor. So there you go. This was certainly not what I expected. So I kept the XR6-T.
Looks like thie car needs some sticky rubber and wider back wheels. Had a 375rwkw g6e and changing to a pilot cup tyre and 275 rear wheels made all the difference.
I could imagine the Barra Turbo mated to a dual clutch 7 speed transmission used in the Shelby Mustang GT500. With a matching power output to the Mustang at over 800 horsepower, it could comfortably keep up with the Shelby. p.s. It could rev just as hard.
Well sadly it's the last of the mighty Barra so of course I love it even though I'll always prefer the look of the earlier models,but she's still a beautiful car & that colour is awesome & goes perfect with those chrome rims,I thoroughly enjoyed this cheers brah.

Its getting harder to find a nice unmolested fgx falcon..been looking for one that has no mods, but sadly all of them so far have been tinkered with, two i saw had all the mods reversed, which is even scarier.

Sorry for the bad news Ross but Ford will never make sedans again. Even us here is the USA where they are from they only give us one car which is the mustang. Everything else is trucks and EVs. The era of these cars will never come back. And its sad.
@@RossReviewsau The first - shifted slow and timing of the clutch and accel let off was off cause it to rev when the clutch was depressed. The second - shifted sharp but wasn’t going for a 0-100.
I have 4 FGX ‘s mine are all auto and the reason they are autos ,is because the T56 box is crap alway has and always will be . Mustang has the same box and it’s an even worse combo.
@@randomsrvapps still a tremec box and they are just crap. Even the T5OD in the BA turbo felt a lot better but where brittle as especially when you had 600hp going through it. I had a good supply of T5 when people did the auto conversion or T56 conversion. . I only used to get 6 weeks from each box but could change a gearbox over in 45 minutes.

Yeah, exactly the same for me, at the time I thought it looked too much like the Focus and the Mondeo, but now for me it just works somehow.

From FG onwards they got the upgraded TR6060 box taking up to 830nm of torque from factory.
