That looks hard just watching it. Good job though. That's the luckiest TLX-S in the world to have an owner like you.
Thank you 🫡
That’s a heck of a process for that little thing lol! Well done boss man!
And I’ll be doing a bunch I’m sure 😅
Nice video! Just did a trans filter change on my '15 Accord Sport 2.4L. Yours was quite a bit a bit more complicated lol! The filter looks very similar and I only needed 3 O-rings. Well done!
Thanks for watching, yes most of them are much simpler to change 😅
I just performed this service on my wife’s ‘19 CRV 1.5T. I changed the fluid 2xs because of the CVT. I put an Raybestos inline filter with magnet on my 2000 Accord (transmission cooling line). It inexpensive insurance to prolong to life of your transmissions. It’s “cheaper to keep her” well maintained (your vehicle and your wife…😂)
😅👏
Until recently I’ve had Honda stick shift cars. I didn’t realize that automatic transmissions needed a lot more servicing 😮 I miss my 1987 Integra. Got it up to 125 mph on the Garden State parkway . It survived a flood in Rahway, crossed country trip to San Jose, California, and an Earthquake!
That’s when cars were simplistic tanks!
I've been waiting for this video for such a long time, thank you so much man!
This car will be well sought out in the future, I am certain of it.

Yes, it’s something I’m working towards.
Welcome 💯
🙌
how often should the filter be changed per Honda? Is it just me or modern Honda / Acura engine bay looks messy, like the inside of a Dell laptop. Not as nice / clean looking as a MacBook. Honda used to be easy to work on and designed to be. It looks like a poorly designed engine bay now.
The engine bay on modern Hondas are either really tiny to maximize interior space like the Honda Fit or they are full of lines, piping and wiring that really get in the way of removing other components.
Thank you
Your welcome
Thank you si very much, been waiting 3yrs for this, also would you be so kind and pls make a vid just showing the fill plug and drain plug for Tcase so we can perform that service too:))?
I have a video on the whole transfer case service for the tlx type S. If your looking for something different lmk. Here you go: ruclips.net/video/si0gL5Ot_Yc/видео.htmlsi=9leDx9vwE8qIo0o7
honda 2005 pilot 5 speed tranny fluid i never changed the filter and it had 185000
Lucky tbh. 😅
Hey thanks for the video !!
I watched it two days ago doesn’t look like to bad of a job. Would this void warranty if I did it on my own?
I also read that the transfer case spleens have been stripping . What would that sound like ? After watching this video my car had a little clunking
It shouldn’t Void warranty if done correctly. Im going to cover the transmission issues in my 3 year review within 2-3 weeks. Stay tuned
What a headache 🤦🏻♂️! I hope the procedure is going to be much easier on my 23 Pilot without all the turbo plumbing 🤞🏼!
Should be
Impressive watching you tackle this. Is a base 2021 TLX easier?
Yes, it should be much easier.
Yo damn this shit looks hard as fuck, but thanks again just finished watching the entire thing. Thank you
😅 i appreciate you watching 🙏🏻
Do gou have any videos on transmission shudder the MDX experience? Thanks
What year mdx? With the 6at?
@@BCautosolutions 2015
@@civik29 does it have a shift lever or buttons?
@@BCautosolutions shift lever
@@civik29 this may be your issue here. Same process for mdx ruclips.net/video/9KPwS5PuaNk/видео.htmlsi=q3FkqZSOkUON1rGe
How often does Honda recommend owners do this and how many hours would a dealer charge ?
Wow… im surprised at all the tear down for a filter replacement… its as bad as a BMW !! Is it a TLX specific issue or is it the same on the MDX Type S engine bay? It definitely doesn’t look like my ‘ 83 Honda Accord stick shift I drive around in the 1990’s ..
Mdx engine bay is equally as tight
Is this something the dealer will do with transmission fluid service for 10 speed automatic transmission in 4th gen pilot. When I do it I want to change the filter as well
They can do it although you have to request it
Is it the same for the 10 speed on the new Honda Pilot. Thank you as alway
Same filter although probably different o rings
Would this job be any easier on the k20?
Yes, absolutely
Does the J35 Y1 comes with a transmission filter? If so, where is it?
Inline external kinda under the battery
could you do this on the v6 13-17 accord?
That year and model have a external inline filter, yes it can be changed 🫡
Yes, although on that trans it’s an inline external filter. So much easier to change.
Simply looking at the disgusting maze under the hood of this car makes be really hate honda for moving away from simplicity like on the k20 or even k24. I've worked at BMW at I left for a reason.
Why I picked up a 2021 ilx
I do wish they kept the j35. This type-s is gonna be competing with the Germans on maintenance
Yeah these cars are getting worse and worse to work on. Even changing the starter will be a nightmare
What is the second/smaller hole on the turbo?
Does the 2021 Acura TLX 2.0T have a transmission filter? My dealer told me NO. They said it has a transmission screen that does not need any maintenance.
@@anonymousOnHere yes all 10at trans have the filter in same exact spot.
@@BCautosolutions Thanks. I have no idea why my service center keeps claiming there is no filter...
@@anonymousOnHere probably don’t want to do it since it can be somewhat time consuming.
so the 10 speed auto on Pilot has a filter too?
Yes it does
@@BCautosolutions this trans service makes DSG fluid change look easier
@@LoveLikeaHurricane might be 😅
Does the transmission fluid need to be drained before changing the transmission filter? My dealership failed to change the filter but did just replace the ATF.
@@anonymousOnHere yes I would drain it first to make less of a mess.
@@BCautosolutions thank you sir
@@anonymousOnHere very welcome
Is this easier on the base or the same ?
Easier, less to remove and more room to work with.
How many hours of labor would you charge?
I would charge 3 hours doing it through the dealer. I’ll sure I’ll get faster at it and possibly drop down the time.
@@BCautosolutions sweet thanks for the video
@@johnr9390 thanks for watching
I’m curious, why do you not have a boomba bypass valve or hps intake?
Unmetered air is not something that helps the car in any sort of way.
It’s a pain in the ass to build
You work for the plant?
In the computer programming world, they call that kind of design and implementation "spaghetti code".
😅
