Almost every part from a GTE can be put into the GE, gte head gasket, arp head studs, throw in some gte pistons and rods which are cheap. you can hold at least 600-800 hp on that. Even the front facing throttle body can be swapped over. Or just do a gte swap, everything is plug and play.
I've had my manual IS300 for 5 years now and just took it through a 10,000km roadtrip to the PCH and it's been nothing but blessed. Only mods are some rims, coil-overs and exhaust.

I’m currently on my second IS300 manual. I love these cars so much. They have a timeless style and always look good.
Completely agree, even more than 20 years later they still look cool and classy with a touch of nasty!
Zchep3 what do you recommend for suspension?
Chris Storm depends on what you’re after. I use mine for a daily car and currently have Tein Flex Z on it and they ride wonderfully. If I were after more of a performance setup I’d likely go with BCs or Fortune Auto. A little more pricey but you get the customization of spring rates and such.
Zac Hardiman aye bro do the automatic and manual transmission have 2jz? Or is it just the manual.. I’m trying to look for one but don’t know much about em
Nicolas Moreno all IS300s have 2JZ engines. If you’re after a manual, good luck. They’re hard to find and some people want a premium for them.
This car should only be own by Toyota Enthusiasts who can maintain them with OEM Toyota parts. This car is getting rarer by the day and I'd hate to see someone that isn't in love with it or isn't an enthusiast neglect them and ends up destroying the engine/car.
can you help me fix mine

Love my IS. Bought one 3 years ago as my first car and about a month ago, I bought my second IS which is a 5 speed. Got a deal on it because it needed a new clutch (witch I did myself) Can't say I've heard them having problems with oil consumption though, and as long as you replace the timing belt at the 100k mile service interval you're fine. Also, the cup holders suck and riding in the back seat ins't a fun experience. Another gripe is that there aren't a ton of parts available new for these cars as apposed to the E46 but these also break a lot less being Toyota. All in all though, I love these cars and can't see myself not owning one.
I think the back seat are fine but gosh yes the cupholders suck soooooo much on these these things and the windshield is so small too.

Cost effective way to make the is300 stronger is to swap the whole bottom end with a 2jz ge non-vvti bottom end with gte head gasket and arp head studs. Rabid rb channel did this and would be a great option for more power for diy people.

I bought my wife a beautiful black stock '2004 IS300 SPORT CROSS" and she loves it. I'm a former race driver and my car is a Maserati V8, but to be honest, sometimes the Sport Cross is more fun on the street. We get quite a few guys coming up to us and asking if we would sell it. We paid a premium price, but its reliability has been great. If you find one, grab it!
“So you want an LS400?” I mean, we can agree about power steering leaks, blown head gaskets, vvti in the later models. The nice V8 smoothness and good overall reliability. Plus stanced with the right wheels and suspension looks great either as a vip style or a modern sport sedan. Depends on what you’re looking for.

I wish you the best with fixing/tuning it up.
I really miss car this and the SC300. For those who still have the original IS running, hats off to you.
i have used the Toyota Altezza since 2013. it snapped its timing belt early this year, no regrets tho, am definitely getting another one..! Love it to bits..!
you're a dumbass for destroying a 2JZ
I don’t know the hate on the automatics, sure you aren’t rowing your gears (though it has a manual shift mode) but that tranny has nice short sporty gearing and it’s very easy easy to get the tail sliding with traction control disabled. So yeah it isn’t a manual but it isn’t a bad transmission either.
Thank you for listening again !!!! Lexus don’t get love with you guys 😢
Nice to see the IS300 getting some love from you guys, surprised our Boosted_Lexi didn't make it in the clips though! Either way, thanks for shining a light on a few of the builds out there keep it up!
IS300 will put a smile on your face!!! It’s a clean reliable but a bit of sporty car!! Not selling mine at all
I just picked one up 2 days ago, wanted it since I was in high school, overpriced but I got it anyway and are going through and replacing stuff while saving to have the timing belt changed. I love this car!
im back Alex, Wheres the " So You Want a Bmw 335i " vid at, i know you want to do it.
Expensive to own
The is300 sportcross is one of my dream cars, but ONLY the sportcross
imagine... if they had built it with a manual option :(
Only auto... I got a jdm one
Aaaaaaaa perfect ❤️ I f*ng love this channel, the IS300 is a banger haha
❤️
I love mine. 2004 is300 silver automatic 140k miles on it. Rides smoother than when I first got it at 50k. We going to ride this baby to 400k. Will try and get one manual in future.
I love my 2001 lexus gs300 non sun roof suede interior, 2nd owner, 126k original miles. No check engine lights or anything
Watch out for crappy cheap radiator caps that leaks causing head gasket failure, buy an oem toyota radiator cap to fix this issue.
A guy where I live is selling is300 salvage (flood damage) has good sized ding on passenger door but hey it's up for 5k his words "I know what I got it has a 2jz" lol
I picked one up one of the best cars I've had
Owner of a 2001 IS300 with 185k miles here. My top complaints are sticky dashboard, terrible fuel economy around 19-21mpg combined, runs only on premium gas. Other than that they're great cars that are very comfortable.
I have had 4 so far. My 4th one is a super clean IS300 sportcross. My dad has had 3 also. He made me love this small sport car. IS300 nation. SXE10 nation. Altezza & Altezza Gita FTW
I had one for 2 years its a great lil car i dont recommend suping it up.
