I’m about to inherit a 2002 GS 300. It only has 60,000 miles on it and has always been garage kept. Bone stock. Gorgeous car and appreciate the video for some possible reliable and tasteful upgrades.
I kinda ran with the idea of the GS300 being made to compete against the E class and 5 Series and made mine look pretty AMG. The black wheels with chrome rims pretty nice. I definitely recommend one if your looking for a fun first car too. It won't worry you parents too much because its a midsized lexus 😀
I have a 2000 model, I've been having it for a year and a half, its my daily driver, I've kept it stock, runs great and not a headache like my last Nissan altima.

Soooo glad you guys made a video on my car!!! As a student its difficult to pay for parts to make it my own but this video gave me confidence to make it my own. Cant recommend the platform enough even in stock form, but adding a spooly boi would send a shiver down anyones spine and is worth every penny
I bought my Toyota Aristo a few weeks ago. Automatic with 2jz-gte and pretty much every option you could get into one that time around. 140 thousand kilometers driven and I just love it. Bone stock and gonna keep it that way because I daily it.
I love the GS300. I want to buy one as a daily driver. I just absolutely am in love with the styling of this car, and it's reliability if properly maintained! I won't do power upgrades, I won't drive it hard. But I will throw a nice set of wheels on one and probably some coil-overs and lower it enough to look good, but still ride smooth. 😄 I want to keep it stock, as it'll be the daily to keep the miles off my pick-up truck, and it's such a beautiful car with even just a few cosmetic upgrades, I'll be so proud to drive one as a daily! I love the NA 2jz too, cool motor in a cool car, even if it's not the turbo one lol.
I drove my Lexus GS300 stock for 20 years with 90k without knowing it was a special car. I just liked how peppy and fun it was to drive. It has several issues now with the ABS failing, stock navigation system blinking out, and the paint on the hood and top are pretty much gone, but that engine is STILL purring like a kitten and very peppy with almost 300k. It was babied in a garage for 10 years then my wife gave it to me when she got her SUV and I got rid of my Nissan 300Z (which I still regret). I love how much power it has for a standard sedan. Very hard for me to give this car up. Some car racing guys got excited when they saw my car and I was a bit surprised. Also, a bunch of drag racing happened near my work after hours while the cops were not looking and my car fit in quite easily - "Go ahead take your turn". I was like "um, can I just go home please?" I am not a motorhead, just a fan of the car.
Owned a 99 Aristo with the GTE engine. The car drove incredibly nice even with lowering springs. Only had it for 5 months before selling it. Was not the most reliable daily driver. Had rear tie rods for the All wheel steering. Definitely not a first car for people. Only came with 4 speed auto trans. Has a traction and stability control system that is not really possible to completely turn off so you couldnt really drift it. Still drove amazing and miss the car alot. Prices have started to skyrocket since I sold mine. Great video guys!
Yes finally!!! Thanks Alex for talking about this unappreciated vehicle. As myself a gs300 owner, this is a great platform to build a sleeper or drifter. I'm looking forward to putting Artisa carrier on my 99 gs300.
@@demitri9211 It's supposed to look stock but it's quick as fuck. Like a regular looking grandma car and boom turbo spool outta nowhere. The purpose is to make a plain looking car fast and make it inconspicuous.

Hoping to buy up a GS430 Soon, found these videos because of it, and now I know EXACTLY where I am going to buy wheels and suspension. This car is amazing!!
I'm a little jealous of this video. The energy and gushing over the car is more than in the IS300 So You Want. Oh well, all in the same family. Much of the praise overlaps too so do more old Lexus, 2nd Gen IS plz!!!!

I have a 2000 gs300 that I have been building for a few years now. It's pulled a tip speed of 164mph and all I have done is rebuilt the engine and in the process added cold air intake and bigger injectors and changed the fuel pump and custom fuel lines. I have drilled & slotted brakes, full carbon fiber body kit front back and sides. Sits on 3 piece 19" black with a polished chrome lip. Full air bag suspension. Carbon fiber hood that looks like the OEM hood. Complete custom stereo, Pioneer 8inch touchscreen with all the extra features clarion speakers all around with a Alpine 4 ch 1000watt amp and a single ch 3000 watt amp to power the 12 in JL audio w7 with custom built ported box. LED halo projector headlights with matching fog lights and custom led taillights with smoked lenses. Cat delete exhaust. And a few other things I have done to it. Work in progress. Best part is it only had 60k original miles on it when I got it. From the original owner. Has 76k on it now. I LOVE MY GS300. It is by far the funnest car I have ever had.
I bought a silver 2003 GS300 with 78,000 original miles about a year ago, so far i did some paint correction to get rid of the rock chips and I've put gunmetal grey 18 inch rims with performance tires. Next I'm upgrading the suspension tinting the windows and adding a bluetooth audio system. In the near future i am planning on doing the Aristo turbo swap and making it manual six speed. I'm looking to add horsepower to the tune of 900 to a 1000 horsepower to make it the ultimate sleeper.
Advice, replace plastic parts, like the Radiator any time you get the chance(like the next timing belt/water-pump change) The Car is Great, but twenty years of age on plastic, is a weak spot.
Fun fact the 2jz gte was developed for the aristo and not the Supra hence why the stock turbos make insane low end tq. The gs400 was also the faster 0-60 automatic sedan in 1998-1999 and I think maybe 2000 @5.7 seconds. Also ran a 14.3 quarter mile which was fast back then and is still competitive in today’s standards.

I own a stock gs300… I plan on taking the ideas you threw out and making it come to life! Just had a rack & pinion & ball joints swap. I’m working on it in side out. Motor then body.
It's a shame that most want to go the "Toyota Aristo" JDM route with the GS, instead of keeping them *simple & classy* like a *LEXUS* should be in my opinion.
The gs300 platform has been swapped for years, drifted etc it's barley now being excepted as a vip chassis because it's in between a small /full size sedan and most vip builds now are mostly dropped cars with shitty fitment...
I would disagree that n the rim size comment. Im running 20’s and they look perfect in my opinion. It also gives a lower look while not having too much camber = more tire on the road.
Just found this video. I'm in the middle of building mine and just ordered wheels set from you guys to finish it off. Can't wait to add it to the gallery 💯
When I first got mine it was stock and I didn’t like it, I liked the idea of what it could be. But then I slammed it and bought Leon hardiritt Herzogs, now I’m building my 2jz and getting ready to put a turbo on it :)
The Aristo is anything but. the Supra comes from the Aristo, not the other way around. & also the SC300/ Soarer. The MK4 Supra is basically half Aristo, half Soarer

I have a 93 gs300, I've had it for 2 years and love it. I just seem to struggle to find parts for the 1st gen. If anybody is willing to spread some knowledge on where to find any goodies much would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Pick a part
this guy won me n got a subscription feom me even if i never watch another vid just because he said hes not gonna waste time talking abt the history which is what i wanted but never even knew i wanted
Its about time yall do this car 😂 i own one rn and i love it!
Its the same car who cares how people make them why not focus on your car
@@ADChopz Cool.
The Aristos are much higher quality AND have the 2JZ-GTE Stock. Thats why i went for it. I don't care about RHD
@@DailyDotaTV 👍
The gs300 platform has been swapped for years, drifted etc it's barley now being excepted as a vip chassis because it's in between a small /full size sedan and most vip builds now are mostly dropped cars with shitty fitment...
I would disagree that n the rim size comment. Im running 20’s and they look perfect in my opinion. It also gives a lower look while not having too much camber = more tire on the road.
I'm kinda boring so I think 18s & 19s look best, but some 20s look good too. And I have 17s on my 400 😂
Yessss yesss omg i was dreaming about this last night 😂😂😂😂✋✋😀😀😳
Time for my man to switch to decaf. 😄
How ironic, I tried searching this video yesterday and now it exists lmao
Just found this video. I'm in the middle of building mine and just ordered wheels set from you guys to finish it off. Can't wait to add it to the gallery 💯
When I first got mine it was stock and I didn’t like it, I liked the idea of what it could be. But then I slammed it and bought Leon hardiritt Herzogs, now I’m building my 2jz and getting ready to put a turbo on it :)
Ima buy the sc300 engine and build that all the way for 600hp but I only want 450
@@AhmedAhmed-jv7fl haha yup that’s what I’m doing right now, finished pulling apart my sc300 2jz and just waiting to pull out my GS motor
Go grab one Aristo V300 Vertex immediately before they price shoots up madly. This is a Gentlemen SUPRA for sure. I owned one now. Super reliable.
The Aristo is anything but. the Supra comes from the Aristo, not the other way around. & also the SC300/ Soarer. The MK4 Supra is basically half Aristo, half Soarer
i literally just got a lexus gs 300 and then this vid dropped 😭😭😭
Congrats bro, have fun!
To taking care of this beast and a beauty 🍺
I have owned mine for almost a year now, its been a blast, there is so much that you can work on that car😁 have fun

As a gs400 owner I approve. 👌🏼 the 1uz is a beast 💪
It wasn't my favorite model of a snappy sedan but credit due to Toyota, they knew they had a good thing there.
