How to BUILD A 704HP LEXUS GS300 in 15 Minutes

  • Опубликовано: 17 авг 2021
  • We took all of the highlights from 14 episodes of our GS300 build and condensed them into one short video. Minimal talking, plenty of building & modifying with a hint of skateboarding.
    If you haven't seen the entire series, buckle in for a jam-packed 15 minutes of the team turning a bone stock, deteriorating Lexus GS300 into a 704HP street monster. If you've got a longer attention span, we highly recommend watching the entire series from Ep. 1 to the end.
    It's rare to see a modified GS300 in Australia, but considering they come from factory with a 2JZ-GE, there is plenty of potential for those who want to get into it.

    I crashed my gs300 4 times one left slight front end , damage , one some Asian foo reversed full speed while trying to EXIT a super market parking lot smfh, one time lots of fog on the streets and I went over a divider , popped both tires , third time I was trying to drift it in the rain and front hit the front end in a light pole , fourth time I raced an ls430 and I kept em off till about 65mph from a dig , he kept going I let go of the throttle ,coming down a hill I floored it again and the back started swinging , hitting a guard rail and smashing the rear passenger quarter panel , I used body filler on it and it runs great , needs suspension work for sure but other than that its great , crazy even fixed the slightly blown head gasket from the catalytic converter breaking off Inside and clogging it , used some bars headgasket and been running 20k miles without an issue

      We wrote up a little bit of a build thread on our website outlining all of the parts we used. It's quite basic but will give you a rough idea of what went into the build. A lot of parts were custom made for the car, so we can't sell them as off-the-shelf parts. Although there are still plenty of bolt-on parts we used that are available on our website.
      If you're looking at doing something similar with your car, feel free to message us on Facebook or send us an email through our website and we can have a chat about your build.

But now thats straighten up I love driving her again. Next is new tires and turn the rotors. I want to do the most effective improvement to the 2jz to increase HP. Any suggestions? Thx!!!

    • @giorgionicola
      @giorgionicola  2 года назад

      Hey mate, there's not a lot you can do to increase HP apart from build your own turbo kit. They 2JZ-GE's are fairly strong from factory so they can handle a decent amount of boost without pulling them apart.
      We obviously went overboard with a completely built engine/head and barely pushed the limits of the build. We did a write up of all the parts we used, so it might be useful for you to see what went into the car so you can start to price it up yourself. Everything we put into the car you can get from our website and we're always happy to help/recommend parts for you.

      From memory, it was about 210,000kms (130,000 miles) on the chassis when we decided to pull it apart. We basically changed/replaced everything there was on the car and handed it over to the winner with about 1,500kms (930 miles) on the clock.

    • @giorgionicola
      @giorgionicola  2 года назад +3

      Hey mate,
      It really depends on what you want to do or achieve with it. Normally we'd recommend starting with a basic service and a compression test to get an idea of where the car is at. They are getting on with age so if you plan to modify it we'd normally start with putting a new fuel pump in it and getting the injectors cleaned or upgrade them to suit other modifications you may make down the track. This will ensure the car is getting a good source of fuel which is always a plus, especially if you want to turbocharge it.
      Another thing worth looking at is all of the suspension/bushings. Obviously with age these parts do wear out and severely affect handling. Bushings aren't the funnest thing to do but honestly make a massive difference when they are all brand new.
      Just start small and work your way up with what you're comfortable with. Learning to work on your own car will save you money and you'll know more about the vehicle if something goes wrong in future.

      The GS400's have a different engine as far as we are aware, so you could do something similar but would require different parts to do so. Pretty much any car can be built to 700hp if you have the funds and know the right people!

      Hey mate, we have a bit of a build list on our website:
      fafauto.com/blogs/news/700hp-lexus-gs300-build-thread
      It's got some information on the fuel system, but likely won't be everything you need. We made the fuel lines up ourselves with Aeroflow fittings and hose. We ended up with a fair few leftover fittings as you always tend to when making a custom setup.
      Hope this helps.

      Hey mate, appreciate you watching our video!
      We used the original GE head, but had a fair bit of work done to it so it could flow more (cams, springs etc.).
      We changed out the intake manfiold with a Plazmaman manifold and larger throttle body, which moves the throttle body to where pretty much where the GTE throttle body is. This was done because the manifold flows a lot more than stock and made intercooler piping much easier to fabricate.
      Hope this helps.

    hello i dont know if this alot to ask for but im soon to be getting a 1999 gs300 and im really new to cars i know some things but i really want to turbo it but i also dont want to spend the a heap amount i just want a fun fast street car and i was looking for a complete kit but i dont want 1 thats gonna break on me in a year it would be cool if you could help me out

      Hey Zach, thanks for watching man! We really appreciate it.
      It's a pretty involved process turbocharging a standard GS300, mainly because there's no complete kits you can purchase and bolt-on ready to go. A lot of the parts we used had to be modified or custom made to work (such as the intercooler piping, exhaust, intake etc.) properly together.
      If you want to chat about it, get in touch with us via Facebook and we'd be happy to help.

    So If I take my completely stock 2jz-ge and put all the forged internals and racing internals, drop good valves on it, basically build it, will the block be able to hold all the power or is it determined by the internal parts? I want reliable power and I don't want to have my engine blow up, I also want like 500 hp but only access to 400 and be able to gradually up it. Plz help lol.

      Hey mate, thanks for watching!
      We put over $100k AUD into this car to get it to where it was. We basically modified or replaced almost all factory components so it was pretty much a brand new vehicle.
      You could likely make similar power without having to go as nuts on the modifications, as the stock 2JZ can handle a reasonable amount of boost without opening it.

      Unfortunately all old school Japanese engines are starting to increase in price. We've seen it in Australia recently and it's getting hard to justify swapping engine these days. Unless you're looking at a K-swap, they are still cheap and a great engine.

      @@giorgionicola exactly. In the US, the engines were going for $3500 pre COVID. Now they're around $7000 and few things on the Lexus are cheap to fix or replace as is
