There's definitely something in the water here in the Netherlands!
Floor- Nightwish
Simone- Epica
Sharon- Within Temptation
Charlotte- Delain
Anneke van Giesbergen
Dianne van Giesbergen- ex vocalist of Xandria, current Ex-Libris
Hoping you'll also check out Delain soon! Been screaming this one from the rooftops for a while! Burning Bridges is solid.
N1Sharon- Within Temptation 2Anneke van Giesbergen and other
That awesome lady is from the netherland, with Simone and Floor, that is a country blessed with metal godess!
Don't forget Anneke Van Giersbergen!
@@xenophon343 NEVER !
He should look up that video of Floor Jansen, Anneke Giersbergen and Marcela Bovio doing Aryeon’s Valley of the Queens live in Tilburg
Besides Anneke van Giersbergen We have Charlotte Wessels ( Delain) as well
Martin 't Hart and Diane van Giersbergen
Oh my. This is the first symphonic metal band I discovered. The female lead is another Dutch beauty and really hard to argue any better voice out there. They started this genre in the mid 90's along with the Gathering. Floor just a little later with After Forever. They just came out with new album last year called Resist. 2 great songs from that album are 'The Reckoning" and "raise your banner" Their Mother Earth album is a classic . Their early famous songs are Ice Queen, Mother Earth, Caged, The Promise, Deceiver of Fools off that album. They are more softer than other metal bands because the vocals are the best part of band.
After I discovered them, soon discovered Nightwish, Delain, and Lacuna Coil. All great bands that been around for awhile now. Check more of their stuff out.
Since you love Floor (and who doesn't) she recently did a solo tour with a great Setlist. All songs on You tube and may want to react. ( All 9 shows from venues in Netherlands and sold out in 24 hours)
@Kenny Debruyne I have seen Epica many times. One of best bands our there
Ah, you've tasted a bit of Sharon. Well, there are a few nice songs you could listen to. "Somewhere" (live duet with Anneke Van Giersbergen search for "The Best Duet Ever") for example or "In The Middle Of The Night" or "Ice Queen" or "Mother Earth" or "Iron" or "Faster" or "Our Solemn Hour" or...
Well, i think thats enough to start. But there is more...
In my opinion there is a holy trinity of Symphonic Metal with female singers: Nightwish, Within Temptation and Epica. They are the leaders of the romantic pack... :-)
here is the link to the duet with Anneke ruclips.net/video/ScjEJRIZGvg/видео.html even if you dont do a reaction to it you should give it a listen.
Yes, the goddesses of rock are kind to us Dutchies.
@@remconoordermeer7015 And don't forget Ayreon... :-)
My personal favourite is Hand of Sorrow
Something in the water in the Netherlands for sure. I mean for some reason there are a ton of rock and metal bands here in Finland (and good ones too), but these ladies.... bwoah (yes yes, we have Tarja and Noora etc. too, but still). What a wonderful time to live and listen to good music.
You should also try Within Temptation - Paradise. She does a duet with Tarja
Charles Laughlin that is such a great song 👍
Yes 100% agree
YES PLEASE
Hell yeah excellent choice
Not responsible for Mr. Rock and Roll's ER run after hearing Sharon and Tarja in action ruclips.net/video/Dy6MpsDPKts/видео.html
Such an angelic voice.
You'd almost think there's something in the water here in the Netherlands, so much talent! Floor, Sharon, Anneke and so on. Proud Dutchie
Glad you finally made your way here!
I know everyone`s asking for Paradise - ft. Tarya (and I agree 100%) but I`ll go ahead and recommend The Reckoning or Dangerous (ft. Howard Jones of Killswitch Engage)
All good Choices, I also think "And We Run" is highly underrated, along with anything from the Q Sessions
I'd toss in "The Whole World is Watching", "What Have You Done", and "A Demon's Fate" as well
Within Temptation - The Promise (Black Symphony)
So many awesome women in metal. Definitely still need to check out Beyond the Black and Delain. Good stuff, glad Within Temptation has now blessed your ears 🤘🏾
Delain is another good one! Also In This Moment is another he should check out.
I love both these bands. I've met Charlotte twice and got a kiss on the cheek the first time
To break you in easy I suggest Delain featuring Marko Hietala. Marko has appeared with Delain (Charlotte Wessels another Dutch goddess) many times around the world. Marko and Charlotte harmonize exceptionally well. BTW, Marko just released (Feb 12th) a new video covering War Pigs (Black Sabbath).
@@charleslaughlin4207 how cool.....I love Charlie, she is a great vocalist and songwriter, with a lovely personality.
I am very envious of you !! 😊😊
Yeah i also suggested Delain few days ago. Love Sharon, but Charlotte is also GREAT.
I can't believe you've never listened to them before. So glad you did this review. You should check out some more because all their songs sound different.
Marsha Moorman this^
Look marsha... not gunna mistake and assume I know what part of the world your from...but as far as the American music scene n media prejudice toward outside of america music... is not complete nor fare to everyone to include the bands...there are better musicians and music abroad...I'm proud to have discovered this genre of music years ago...thanks to you tube...I used to listen to a heavyer satellite station here in the states...I would ask why you dont play these bands alongside what they are currently playing...occasionally they might play a tune...mostly late into the we ours but they would not give them their due... some yes already older tunes but no more older than what they are currently playing now...to in clude a couple classic bands of more age (Metallica, ozzy)...there are stations for those bands but they are staples nonetheless....these bands from Europe play to tremendous crowds..when they come her it's a small venue..why..I'd love to see them at least in a festival setting...I'd love them to have more exposure...there songs are in english and totally understandable ....anyway as I rant I dont listen to satellite anymore...you tube satisfies me enough...that's my take marsha... I gave you a thumbs up...
paul lawrence Dude. Use punctuation. Periods do exist. lol.

@@paullawrence3238 I'm not sure I understand what you are saying buy I'll answer. I live in Missouri USA in the country so my phone is my tv, music, news, etc. I will be 59 in a few months so we are close in age. About 9 months ago I found a whole other world in symphonic and folk metal. I see all these bands that I like ( only a few are from the US) scheduling all these awesome concerts everywhere but here in the US. I told my husband we live in the wrong country to see these bands in concert lol. I think this is what you meant by US radio not playing this type of music? I strictly rely on RUclips, FB and Spotify. Thanks for your comment.
The version of Somewhere for the Black Symphony live show is just soooooo beautiful it brings tears every time
Another good Within Temptation song is Ice Queen
DUDE! mr rock and roll, thank you for reacting to this, I'm very happy you like this band and I encourage you to check out more of there songs (and we run featuring xzibit ) in particular but anyway.
This band was my introduction to the metal genre and I'm so happy you like them too.
Much love :)
Thanks for finally getting to this! Man this girl can hit some notes.
More songs by Within Temptation...
Faster
Dangerous
What Have You Done
Paradise (featuring Tarja)
The Reckoning(feat Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach)
All of these have a harder metal sound to them.
She has a wonderful voice, glad to see you react to them.
The Promise by Within Temptation with the black symphony orchestra should be next.

Paradise with Tarja
Faster, Dangerous or And We Run
AHHH LOVE WITHIN TEMPTATION!!! I recommend looking at Memories by them, the video is just as cool as this one and it's just a beautiful song all together!
If you’re looking for like a great story telling video from Within Temptation, I recommend “What About Us?” Featuring Tarja. That song gives me goosebumps every time.
I worship Sharon!! Stand My Ground I play that when I feel like someone is getting in my face
I fell in love with Sharon, her voice and her band in the early 2000's and have been a huge fan ever since.
Two other albums you might enjoy Mr.Rock 'n Roll, are their 'covers' album and Sharon's solo album, 'My Indigo' which has some very personal and heartfelt tracks, showcasing her beautiful vocal style !! 😊😊
I would recommend "Our Solemn Hour", "What Have you Done", "Mother Earth", "Stand My Ground" Within Temptations is a great band and I think you would enjoy hearing more of Sharon's lovely voice.
NiciNeko our solemn hour the live version is absolutely amazing!!!!
Within Temtation together with Evanescence Double Headliner Tour Live in Germany in April...Cant wait to see them Together !
Lucky. I wish would come here to US.
Jillian and What Have You Done were my first Within Temptation songs and I highly recommend them! Also the amazing song Our Solemn Hour!
Within Temptation is one of the best bands I've ever heard.
The amazing thing is that she can do this high notes live too.😊
Thanks again for a great reaction 👍🇸🇪
Within Temptation and its singer Sharon den Adel is one the most impressive band in Symphonic Metal world. You should definitely check out their live performances from The Black Symphony show, you will like it.
Would it surprise you to know that Ms. Sharon den Adel has never had a singing lesson in her life? Her voice is a blessing straight from the heavens.
She also writes their music and designs all their outfits. :)
Got my Within Temptation Ticket for April in Frankfurt Germany, together with Evanescence.
Same here :-)
yes, me too! Going to the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Can't wait!
Me too!
I sold mine after finding out Amy Lee is a leftist tree hugging anti- Trump global warming hippie idiot..😭
Next one Within temptation "Mother Earth" Black Symphony live🙏
Thank you for taking a chance on WT! They have been around for as long as Nightwish. Sharon Den Adel is one of the best naturally self trained vocalist I have ever heard. Here are some song suggestions. Early stuff: Ice Queen, Mother Earth, The Promise. Mid career: Our Solemn Hour, The Truth Beneath the Rose, In the Middle of the Night, Iron, Faster. Latest few albums: Paradise (What about Us) ft Tarja, Covered by Roses, The Reckoning, Raise Your Banner, Supernova. There are so many more good songs out there, this band will keep you busy for years. Tell you more later, but until then, ROCK ON!
And I can assure you, she is live even better!
Hehehe...Sharon Den Adel will get you every time! She's another of the Dutch superwomen. There are so many I'm losing track, LOL! Floor & Simone you've already met, and now finally Sharon. There's also Anneke van Giersbergen and Charlotte Wessels to name two more.
For Sharon & Within Temptation, I'd definitely recommend "Paradise", a duet with Tarja (Nightwish's original lead vocalist), and also Somewhere (live) at the Metropole, in a duet with Anneke. Trust me, you'll love both.
This whole Dutch "women of metal" thing is really something amazing and unprecedented. So buckle up!
Memories, Utopia, Paradise(What About Us), and Frozen by Within Temptation have great stories in their music videos. Within Temptation is my favorite band. Sharon has some of the most beautiful vocals I've ever heard.
Saw them live 13 times! They are even better liv! I saw them first 25 years ago! Sharon never got a singing lesson, just pure natural talent!
Within Temptation are a fantastic band, who have done so many different styles of music. They're also amazing live. Definitely keep going with them. My personal favorite track is "Faster", but they really do have something for everyone.
And if you want to check out the Temptations, that'd be cool too. I'd recommend the song "Ball of Confusion".
i still cant believe shes self-taught
They are a Dutch symphonic metal band that started the same time as Nightwish 1996. They are considered one of the pioneers of female fronted metal bands. The lead vocalist is Sharon den Adel who founded the band together with her partner Robert Westerholt. She applied, and was admitted, to the conservatory for opera training but did not like it so she changed over to the arts-academy within her first semester. There she studied clothing design and management and completed it successfully. She has mainly used these skills in designing outfits used on stage. They have had a rather successful run in clubs for couple of years where their performances were constantly sold out. Because of that they got invited to the biggest festival in the Netherlands "Pink Pop". Even though they had a very early start the concert was a huge success. They released their single "Ice Queen"shortly after expecting it to be very successful but it did not do much until somewhere in December that year a dj played it on the radio. Suddenly the song shot up in the charts and even took the number 1 spot. Now other countries started to pay attention. They received their first foreign festival invitation from Argentina. All expenses paid but they were not getting paid for the concert itself. At this time they all still had day-time jobs so they needed to take vacations days to go. They went over there and considered the concert a success judging from the audience respons. The record company also arranged a signing session in the biggest cd/record store in Buenos Aires, on their way over there the band members were speculating about the number of people to expect or if anybody would even show-up. They got their answer when the arrived at the store. The store was filled to the brim and there were still hundreds people standing outside waiting to get in and even the band itself had problems to get through. When they asked the shop owner how come that so many people showed up he looked surprised and said "Haven't they told you guys that Ice Queen had lead the charts for weeks?".
They have many great songs to chose from and practically any song will do but my favorite song of them is "Say my name". The suggested clip is a complete concert registration but you can select the separate songs from the attached listing in the comments field or select the 45:30 minute mark. The song was never released on any of the studio albums but as a bonus track on the single release of the song called "Angels" (the song you listened to). The song is about her (Sharon den Adel) grandmother suffering from Alzheimers and her desperate attempts to try to connect with her one more time. Her delivery is spot on except for slight emotional tremor in her voice that makes it all the more beautiful. The audience is also fully aware of the uniqueness of this song being performed because it so quiet that you would have been able to hear pin drop.Quiet an achievement in a sold-out arena of 20.000 people. I have seen this woman perform four times in concert and countless live registration online she is usually very relaxed and cheerful during her concerts. During this concert she starts out that way but if you watch her carefully you can see her tense up the closer she get to this song and relaxes again after the song has been done. This clearly is very personal song to her. She must have been satisfied with the results because the next year she performed it again during their acoustic theater tour. But this time she was barely able to complete the song and had tears in her eyes. ruclips.net/video/KuMB2pTsZP0/видео.html
I'm just watching this video with a big grin on my face. Within Temptation is my most favorite band ever!
I am so happy you did this song. This is the very first song I ever heard from Within Temptation several years ago and I am still a big fan of theirs to this day.
Within Temptation's definitive concert is the Black Symphony, performed live with the Metropole Orchestra (they're Dutch). You should listen to Mother Earth, Somewhere, and The Truth Beneath the Rose from that concert.
Finally indeed! Wt and Sabaton are my favourites.
Wt- Say my name
Paradise
The Reckoning
Dangerous
and Until your last dying breath from sabaton!!
Within Temptation and Metropole Orchestra - Somewhere (Black Symphony), you'll be blown away by this live duet with Sharon and Anneke!
Ah beautiful Sharon. Voice of an angel. 😍
You can sing that high. Just listen to Beast In Black - Blind And Frozen. Yannis Papadopoulos will show you the way.
Not everyone can. It doesn't hurt to make the attempt over time though. I know I can. :)
Also check out their songs Hand of Sorrow and Our Solemn Hour. Especially the live Black Symphony versions. Buckle up and hold on.
Within temptation...faster, mad world, shot in the dark, a demons fate, iron, dangerous, and we run...there's just a few...
Within Temptation : i love Stand My Ground, Swan Song, and Memories. it shows pretty well her talent, and the group harmony
Yeah! Finally, Within Temptation! People have already recommended other great songs from the band, I’m just gonna add a few more: "What have you done" "Our Solemn Our" and "Forgiven"
Angelic voice. Sharon is absolutely one of the best singers in the world.
And just think that she never learned to sing professionally.
Finally the 4th of the Symphonic Metal Holy Quad. Angels is also great. But do some live at Black Symohony and youll be amazed ma brudda.
robert shimek the 3rd comment mentioning the symphony concert. Nice Pretty sure though well see Paradise as every1 including me... mentioned its a Tarja duet
WT is metal ?
They were, 15 years ago
Now, it's a pop band
osez111 They have a slightly more pop ish vibe now but they still deliver great sound and lyrics. And Sharon den Adel still has great vocals. She’s almost as versatile with her voice as Floor Jansen is and it is because of that WT still kicks ass
@@vlad-ovidiuadam6489 i don't say she has not a nice voice, just that if you listen to the WT's first album and now, you could not say that it's the same band. Silent Force was the begening of the end for WT as a metal band.
osez111 I see well.. we’ll just have to agree to disagree. As long as WT will make songs..I will listen. Have a good day!
Within Temptation are an excellent band and have many many great songs. Their videos are always good as well. Sharon has a stunning voice. Have a great day.
Within Temptation are a fantastic band, and believe it or not Sharon is a self taught singer! Now you need to check out 'Mother Earth' and 'Our Solemn Hour' from the Black Symphony concert and the music vid for 'Paradise (What About Us)' with Tarja on guest vocals.
She has no formal singing training and she sounds like an angel!
The video is chilling but what a great song. Her voice is angelic & she is gorgeous!
Glad you're finally giving Within Temptation a listen. Now that you have had a taste of Sharon's voice, listen to Paradise...a duet with Tarja Turnen. And for a Within Temptation song, In the Middle of the Night or Stand My Ground
Angels is one of my favorite songs from them. I also really love Deceiver of Fools and The Truth Beneath The Rose.
my first time hearing Within Temptation was with their song Dangerous (featuring Howard Jones). If you want adrenalin fuel, I recommend this one.
You also should listen to Murder, Iron, Sinèad, and In Perfect Harmony from this band. They’re such an amazing group!
my faves include Iron, Paradise featuring Tarja Turunen
and Dangerous featuring Howard Jones and oh boy thats got a great video
Thank you for finally reacting to Within Temptation and also for featuring my previous comment in this video! As you enjoyed this music video of theirs so much, the next one I would suggest is Frozen - it's probably one of the darkest and most beautiful and meaningful songs and videos from them ever! :)
PS. Sharon is even better live! For another time check Our Solemn Hour, The Promise or Jillian from The Black Symphony (it features live orchestra and a choir too)!
never heard of this band before, This singer sounds like an angel I'm not usually a fan of operatic metal but her voice has got me hooked going to look this band up and check out other music. And as usual Mr RNR is one of the best reactors on UT
Some more of this band songs : the howling, stand my ground, frozen, what have you done are my favorites
They also did a song with Xzibit, it's a very underrated song, it's so good!
No need to react to what I'm going leave you here. Her current rendition of "Angels" is more operatic. It's not as sweet or angelic like the studio version, but she performs it more professionally. This video is their Angels performance in Poland from last year: ruclips.net/video/DOW2DLEa3vk/видео.html. Her voice was insane. Crazy high notes with more vibrato. The bridge and post-choruses show off her current state of singing. She's now much better than her time in 2004 when the album "The Silent Force", which "Angels" is a part of it was released. It's been more than a decade. She keeps getting better and better with her singing technique.
The first Symphonic Metal band that I ever followed.
In a lot of their later songs she sings in a much lower register :) like shot in the dark. Paradise with Tarja, and our solemn hour.
You should react to the Black Symphony live version. They are incredible live.
and she is sounds same at live!
i was on their concert two times,
it was wonderful
A really great band Within Temptation. Love Mother Earth from Black Symphony. And Ice queen very good song too.
This was the first Symphonic Metal band I ever heard. I fell in love with them from their song 'Mother Earth'. I highly recommend that song.
Glad you finally found WT, my personal gateway into the Metal world that I love today! Knowing how you love your hard rock, try, Shot In The Dark, Iron, Stand My Ground, or Paradise-What About Us. For a softer side, try, Somewhere (duet w/Anneke), or Stairway To The Skies. Very good, underrated band!
The Dutch metal maidens never disappoint. More Within Temptation is always good also Sharon seems to like to sing duets so you get a double shot. I would suggest After Forever "Beyond Me" with Floor from back in the day , Timo Tolkki's "Shine" with Elize, Within Temptation "Paradise/What About Us" with Tarja, and of course Within Temptation "Somewhere" from the Black Symphony/Metropole Orchestra concert with Anneke.
BTW Sharon is an absolute sweetheart as well. I remember waiting for them after a concert in Paradiso (Amsterdam) for a signature. While she was going around signing and taking photos with us, I got the message that my ride fell through and I was kind of stranded. She felt so bad for me that she started going back and forth to their bus, giving me water bottles. Next day I looked in my bag and found 8 of those .5 liter water bottles in there. 🥰
Fun fact: Sharon den Adel, unlike Floor or some other symphonic metal singers, never had any formal singing training, she's mostly self-taught.
Yap... Another wonderful band, with a beautiful singer, Sharon den Adel, I like within temptation a lot
So this was recommended and so glad it was. I love this song. This reaction was epic🖤🌹🖤
She truly is an angel
Check out the whole album Black Symphony by them. It’s nonstop incredible. Also Silver Moonlight and It’s The Fear. You’ll love them all.
YES. BIG YES.
Paradise (What About Us?) is Together with Tarja Turunen! one of my personal faves along with Whole World is Watching which is truly a beautiful song and video.
I am waiting for this reaction!! Within Temptation- Our solemn hour (metropole orchestra) ❤❤❤
About time, Hope You check, The old Theater of Tragedy, Sirenia, Tristania and of course DRACONIAN!
The first WT song I heard was Dangerous Mind which then lead me to Angels...that was all it took to get me hooked.
Please react to Within Temptation featuring Tarja - Paradise. Epic AF!
I love “our solemn hour” live with the metropole orchestra it’s absolutely amaizing.
First vid I’ve seen of yours and I’m aldready subscribing
Okay, now that you have met Sharon, you need to listen to "The Howling" which is one of Within Temptation's most iconic songs. I'd also recommend "Sinead" and "Faster".
I see Within Temptation, I click, I like.
These animated reactions are the best
Keep these coming
Also, really enjoying your stuff! I was wandering through the 10 billion or so Noise reactions and yours is the only one that got me clicking Subscribe.
Another great by them ,all I need, for a slower mellow but still rocking tune.
Amaranthe dropped a new track today 'Do or Die'. It features a vocal guest appearance by Angela Gossow, the blonde former front of Arch Enemy. It's Angela's first recording in 6 years, in a duet with Elize, need I say more?
You also still need to check out Apocalyptica 'Rise'
She can hit those notes live too🤟🏻
One of my favorites is Within Temptation Supernova.
They are just as good live!!!
FINALLY!!!!! 🤘🏼 🤘🏼 please listen to more of them indeed! Try "Stand my ground"!
