Brad's role here should be taught and studied by actors who want to know what impact/shock emotions are and how to beautifully act within such scenes. Brilliant.
@Nightmare1398 I actually laughed when he cried. He's such a washed up actor.
@@dannythomas417 Are you shitting me?
@@hitthegoat Alright, I'll admit what I said was truly wrong. It's just that he doesn't get in good movies anymore.
@@dannythomas417 yeah but thats not really his fault. That's more on his agent.
I want to learn from Brad Douriff so I can be an actor like him.
People can complain about this movie all they wish, but it's the first time I was genuinely emotionally moved by something in the Halloween series.
Rob zombie's films in the series are better than most in the original. The only reason people hate them is they're nastalgia blind.
@Jerry-Glen Lovell. No. Rob Zombie's movies are terrible. Slight moments of brilliance here-and-there doesn't make a movie any better.
Same
@@jerry-glenlovell8570 Rob Zombie's Halloween films are filled to the brim with terrible dialogue and acting, despite some great things being in the mix as well. Also making THE SHAPE a fucking bullied hillbilly kid who turns into a giant hobo completely ruins the character, the MM in these movies hardly even resembles what Michael Myers is supposed to be.
@@jakebiomask What is Michael Myers supposed to be?
Annie's death was probably the most heary wrenching and sad in robs film. The flashbacks of young danielle the music everything. Brad's acting is TOP OSCAR WORTHY
He even received an Oscar nod in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, which was only his first.
Everyone talks about Brackett mourning his daughter, but Laurie's anguish is really something to, not only has she lost her best friend, but she also realizes it's too late to take back how hostile she was towards her. As rotten and nasty as Laurie was, she still felt the loss in so many ways.
It’s so damn sad once Laurie realizes that her last memory with Annie is fighting with her
Literally!
"Don't leave me baby" always gets me heartbreaking line
When laurie said "don't leave me babe" I just lost it. I broke down in tears!!!
when I first seen this I thought wtf?!?! it's a Horror/slasher film,I started to lose it when the sheriff sees her and ha memories of her as a kid but when the music hits I'm gone lol, brilliant is all I can say!the acting is perfect and Brad just owns this scene
Nick Lullo. 100 bro i cant even front right there
Omfg yes:*(((
Nick L. Thought Laurie was Jamie mom

I don't care what anyone says, but that "Scene" when Sheriff Brackett finds Annie, was beyond heart break, and extremely well done.
This scene beyond is heart breaking brad dourif should've been awarded
Definitely Oscar worthy
The music n lighting plus the blood. Like revisiting a nightmare.
Thats the only thing I give Zombie credit for between his 2 movies. Can't think of any other death in the entire series that packs this emotional punch
I cried at the end of this movie when I first saw it, it screwed me up for years
At 3:00 when he asks “where is she?”
You can’t fake talent. Hits the feels such emotion
Lord, Brad Dourif should've won an Oscar for that. Amazing actor. As well as Danielle.
Oscars are rigged, always have. He also should’ve won in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
@@dannythomas417 he should've gotten a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Mississippi Burning. It's a damn shame neither he or Willem Dafoe got nominated for that film

@waluigi wahaha Me too. I mean the actor was terrible.
As much as this movie was such a train wreck, Annie's death was just heartbreaking.
I actually liked the movie. And the death was heartbreaking.
+Skalopulton301 I liked the movie also, never understood why people gave it a bad rap,I liked Rob Zombies twist on it and Annies death rips a hole in the heart everytime, not to mention Brad Dourifs acting!I heard that scene is only in the directors cut version?because I don't remember it on the regular version.
I can't believe they did that. Sheriff Brackett finding Annie dead was so much better in the Director's Cut. Also it was the best scene in the entire movie.
The movie itself was good but the reason it was hated is because it destroyed the concept behind Michael much like the 6th instalment of the series did
This is the only part of Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 movie I liked but I still hate his remakes. I really hate Laurie in this movie because she is a huge pain and she was staying at Annie's house to be shouting her like that.
I love how Rob Zombie really puts in the effort with Annie’s Death. It’s protrayed in such a heartbreaking way which makes you feel bad for Brackett. The way he screams out his daughters name after discovering her body is just heartbreaking
Why is it that every B-tier movie always has one sudden S-tier acting moment that doesn’t match up with the rest of the acting in the movie?
I have no idea.
Because it's Brad Dourif. He's fukkin brilliant.
The look Danielle gave at 1:39 was a classic Jamie look and it's so adorable
Glad I’m not the only one who noticed that!
Wow, it actually looks like her!
@@FullArcher05 because it is her
I saw this comment and knew the face you were referring to before I checked. Good catch. Love her
I was watching a Q&A panel for the Child’s Play films (specifically Curse of Chucky), and someone asked Brad Dourif how he emotionally prepared himself for this scene. Brad’s answer? He didn’t say a word, he just pointed to his daughter Fiona, who was sitting next to him at the panel.
I saw this comment on a Kill count episode!

Thank you for time-stamping it in the actual panel video
His daughter later went on to star in Curse of Chucky and she was pretty good in it.
Danielle’s acting in the scene from 0:45 to 1:45 is really great. Love her. One of my favorite actresses.
“Oh God. OoooooooOooOOOoohhhhh noooooo Anniiiiiiie. **sniff** ANNIIIE God no God please! **sniff** OH God! NO! NOOO!!!!”
*- Strong ass acting by Brad Dourif* 😢
Man, it’s gonna be really sad when he dies. I watch him on One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. And he broke my heart in that movie.
Brad dourif is such an amazing actor
Yeah
Alex Black girl you said it!I was surprised this wasnt in the original cut of the movie,I actually had to fight back tears, lol in a Halloween movie of all things!
Greek Geek Glam as chucky
If you really wanna see an amazing performance from him, his role in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest with Jack Nicholson is absolutely heart-wrenching. He got nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar, and should've won it over George Burns in The Sunshine Boys. Burns was great, but Dourif's performance as Billy Bibbit rips your heart out.

The flash back of Annie as a child put the icing on the cake .😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

I mostly don't feel when movies try to give me a heartache, but this'll always make my heart shed a tear or two over how someone finds their daughter dead, especially considering Brad Dourif here, who gives a jolly well acting.
Yeah, Brad is a great actor alright, but he was much better when he was younger. And I mean before 1981.
Brad douriff I applaud you’re acting here 👏🏻👏🏻
He really is a great actor. But One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest will always be his best movie. And it was only his first.
The flashback was a nod at her character Jamie Lloyd from Halloween 4 & 5 and basically paying respect to her original character
That was also Danielle Harris the actress when she was a kid.
@@Godoflightning5 no shit.
@@CPSlayer he was being sarcastic because that’s not even from Halloween 4 or 5, just young Danielle Harris
Yeah probably.?. but I think the true reason is because when a parent loses a child even as an adult, they always see their baby. So the seams I think is what bracket was picturing and its head was Annie as a little girl. Cuz I'm not a parent but every parent I've known as always said no matter how old their kid gets they always see him as there baby
Hats off to Brad Dourif man😔😩I get the feels when his sees Annie’s body 🤦🏾♂️so much raw emotion
He’s a good actor, alright. But he was much better when he was younger. He even got an Oscar nomination for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest as well as winning the Golden Globe and a BAFTA. And it only took him one movie to earn all that.
the acting of Brad Dourif here is incredible. the way he holds on his words initially, with the anger and disbelief. that, with a beautiful score and juxtapositioned flashbacks of young Danielle Harris-it’s a truly beautiful scene in an otherwise horrifying movie.
Brad is good alright, but not as good as when he was younger. He got an Oscar nomination in his first movie too.
Father of 7 here. Crying at this scene. The acting deserves an Oscar. Amazing.
I remember seeing this movie in the theater with my uncle and the part where Annie gets killed got to me so bad. I still cry whenever I see that part.. blood everywhere and then her dad had to see that. The music they play during that time makes you wanna cry even more. Then showing her as a little girl is so emotional.
It's still the same person.. when Annie gets killed I still think of Jamie being killed. This movie is one of my favorite horror movies. Everyone died in this movie except for the dad.
Btw, Laurie did appreciate everything they did for her but she was going through alot. Laurie loved Annie so much and when she was like 'don't leave me baby' .. that hurt alot :'(
She really did apreciate everything.
Laurie didnt die
@@dakotasings666 She dies in the unrated version.
That is just depressing because if you had a daughter who was brutally murdered, wouldn't you fall on the ground bursting into tears too?
But a really great movie, though.
I would do the same if that happened to my own child.
Richie Poirier hes Chucky!!!!
Richie Poirier yea and even though no one cares, every time anyone dies in any of these halloween movies, the same exact thing is happening to 2 parents for every death..
People just dont understand the psychology
The flashback gives the feels.
This scene alone is what separates this film from traditional slashers. Usually the deaths are silly or comical. Rob's take on these characters is so much more raw and real. This was the only film of the genre to make me cry. As a mother I died inside when the sheriff found his daughter. So sad the genre is so frowned upon by the Oscars. This performance was worthy of an award for sure
@3:00 gave me goosebumps down to my core. His emotions are so authentic in a situation like that. Annie’s death got me too.
Brad Dourif has done a grand job in playing Sheriff Brackett in the remakes, I felt like his famous performance as Chucky declined with Seed of Chucky and (thinking it was end for him as a horror film villain icon) figured the Halloween films earned his status as a actor who can show raw emotion especially when he finds Annie dead there. Wished he lead the film's cast rather than Malcolm McDowell (who was great as Dr Loomis in first film but character was made as a self-absorbed jerk in 2nd one)
I agree with everything man. I dont like the way Loomis was portrayed in 2. He should have still been the way he was in the first film.
Brad Dourif is a very underrated actor in my opinion. His performance as Billy in One Flew Over the Cuckoos nest was fantastic as well.
I am sorry but nobody can replace charles cyphers as the original sheriff brackett sorry brad
@Josh Vargas He actually won a BAFTA, Golden Globe and an Oscar nod for that role. And it only took him one movie to get all that.

Brad dourif is such a great actor. People seem to forget how great of an actor he is. He was nominated for an oscar.
That was back when we had legends like Jack Nicholson.
He should've won an Oscar for Cucu's Nest but to be totally honest I think he gives one of his best performances ever in this film.
To this day I think this is one of the most real feeling death scenes I've ever witnessed in a movie, and I've seen A LOT of movies. That acting here by Brad Dourif is just saw raw and real. It just instantly hits you. The directing in this scene was top notch as well with Rob Zombie transitioning to sound off, almost as if it's too unbearable to hear anymore pain and noise as we know this is just too much of a scene. Then he goes with the innocent old flashback scene of Annie as a girl, using Dannielle Harris's personal footage, and it just cements the whole scene in horror movie history. There really aren't many scenes like it.
Charlie's death in Hereditary, the actress who plays her mother (Toni Colette's character) was pretty horrifying. One of the most realistic, grieving moments I have ever witnessed on screen. It made my stomach turn. Watch that clip whenever you get a chance..
@@ImOG97 I only saw that movie once but I remember that scene. Very sudden and raw as well. Different than this scene, but definitely a shocker.
**Actually just watched that scene again on youtube. Yea definitely more similar than I thought.
I remember seeing this movie at the theaters, with my brother, and had to turn my head away, so he wouldn't see my tears.
Damn, this was actually the most intense entry in the series. Really showed the trauma and effect. Poor Annie.
Liked how Danielle Harris had some childhood footage that they were able to use for this instead of hiring a kid to portray young Annie in the "home movie" clips. And yeah I know she played Michael's niece in the 80s.
The scene where Sheriff Brackett finds Annie’s body is seen sadder than in the original 1981 Halloween II
“Don’t leave me babe” I can’t 😢
Halloween II is probably the saddest horror movie ever made.
***** I think when he says sad, he actually means sad ... as in this particular scene was sad because she was killed.. You wrote a paragraph for what?
TheOnlyIsiah Exactly. It's like Rob Zombie set out to make a tragedy. I can't call it a bad film because the scene is a very well done sad, emotional scene, but it's the opposite of an enjoyable horror film. Neither scary nor fun. Wolf Creek was mostly like that too. I was depressed for days after that.
Drew Wesely Well then Rob did a great job huh? , that's what directors is supposed to do, make you feel it days and days after the movie, not everything in horror has to be gory and killing all the fucking time, that's not real horror anyways, go look at the 60,70,80's horror and you will find plenty of the orginals who is exactly like this one, the new hollywood and this generation just want blood and gore 24/7
Oh please, shut up all Rob Zombie was trying to is try to express the character
I'm talking about Annie!!!
This is one of the most natural responses to a loved one dead I have ever seen on screen.
hearing Bracket cry makes this scene even more sad to watch 😭
Annie is a good character so sad scene
when Annie died man that was the saddest part ever. smh this movie really made u connect with Annie and Laurie!

I would like to take this moment to prepare you for some of the best acting in motion picture history. Ready or not, here it comes.
Omg I cried so hard when Annie’s dad came in , that’s so sad and heartbreaking 🥺💔, and when Laurie was crying , that hurt me 🥺🥺.
Yeah, Brad Dourif was a great actor. He really poured his heart out.
Annie death was so heartbreaking. Her poor dad 😢💔
Every daddy’s worst nightmare is seeing the corpse of their dead kid.
And even though he finds his daughter brutally murdered, he doesn't give himself much time to grieve because he wants to go save Laurie. A truly strong character who still cares about this woman he's come to love like a daughter, and wanted to keep safe just as much as his own. But in the director's cut, Laurie is gunned down & killed, so he lost 2 daughters in 1 night.
It seems like a tribute to both Jamie and Annie's characters. The final time Danielle Harris played a part in the series. If you know the horror formula then you knew it was coming. I cried 😞
Brad Douriff acts his fucking ass off in this scene! Incredible!
The Theatrical cut actually Muted out Brad Douriff’s dialogue out. Imagine. They cut up this amazing performance in exchange for Sad music
*Fun Fact:* The same girl that plays Annie is the same girl who played Jamie in Halloween 4 and 5! (Danielle Harris)
It's actually a pretty cool easter egg Rob Zombie snuck in!
You can clearly tell by the flash backs.
It’s not an Easter egg. Even mild Halloween fans know that.
Mooky Blaylock thanks captain obvious
That’s not Danielle Harris in the flashbacks
eric44ism it is her...
I been a huge fan of the Halloween series since I was like 12 years old and I am 40 now. I have no idea why people disliked this film. I consider it my absolute favorite one after the original. RZs Halloween was good but this sequel was GREAT. You really feel the pain and trauma from Laurie and Annie both and how Annie is annoyed by Laurie being the victim all the time when Annie is the one holding them all together (her, her dad, and Laurie). It's so sad that the last time they see each other is when they're fighting and then later Laurie finds Annie dead. I think Brad Dourif is such a great actor and honestly gives one of his best performances he has ever given in this film and that says a lot.
Man the sheriffs reaction and the flashbacks of little Annie....there enough to drive anyone to tears. 😞😞😞

Some Amazing acting out of all 3 of the main supporting characters At 2:45 when Lorie (Scout Taylor Compton) says “don’t leave me Baby” is super sad 😢 the pain and the anguish of seeing all of her closest friends murdered is hard enough but Annie was really the only person she had left In her life as a friend and it’s hard on the audience as well cuz we all developed an emotional attachment with her im glad director Rob Zombie chose to not physically show how Annie was killed in the theatrical release of this film and instead opted for exterior audio of the encounter with Michael

One of the darkest scenes I've seen in my life. Even the coldest among killers including the "Iceman" would cry if this happened to him.
This was so much better done here..in the original i never felt sorry for any of the killed people not even Annie. But this version is heartbreaking.
This scene hits me a so hard not just for all the obvious reasons, but the fact that this feels more like Jamie than Annie. She’s already completely different from her first appearance and the original Annie. It’s almost like this is what the real Jamie would look like when she’s grown up. That’s why I teared up when she died, and I broke down when I saw her body.
The scene when Brad Dourif finds Annie.....I am left speechless every time. He did that scene so well. I held my breathe the first time watching it. The emotion is so raw. The heartbreak in his voice and the way he slowly crumbles to the floor. In that moment we watch and feel Brackett's entire world fall apart. Amazing acting!
It also proves why the Oscars are rigged and always have been. He got nominated for his performance in that Jack Nicholson film One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. And it was only his first movie too.

I didnt 100% understand why it was so heartbreaking, but seeing Brad screaming with that music blaring, I cried. Say what you will about Zombie and his films (especially this one) this scene was a heartbreaking and emotional moment, something quite lacking in this series. Well done...
Very underrated movie. It may not even be close to the originals, but scenes like these really carried the movie. Danielle Harris is always amazing and Scout really won me over in this film.
I loved the use of Danielle Harris' home video footage, that really hit me! Rob Zombie had an amazing way of making this movie very emotional and heart-breaking at times. The Annie death scene was quite sad. Almost makes you want to tear up.
That was so uncalled for. Why did Laurie have to treat Annie so badly like that? Annie was just fine and all Laurie ever did was yell at her
She was going through a rough time.
Skalopulton301 I know but it's not fair to take it out on someone else
Yeah? Well, lots of people go through rough times. That doesn't mean that it's okay to treat others - especially your friends or family - like garbage. I haven't watched this movie in its entirety. But going by what I've seen, I can honestly say that I hate this version of Laurie.
Wasn’t Annie Raped by Micheal TWICE? and Laurie has the goddamn nerve to bitch at her? Like for a rape victim Annie is handling the trauma well
