Stoney Ridge Farmer I like the RTV1140. I like the option of seating for 4-5 with a short bed or being able to flip the rear seat up and expand the bed and the protection cage slides forward to keep you protected from items in the bed.

Thank you! I've been looking at all side x sides and will take a closer look at this one. So far, i'm leaning toward the BRP Defender. It's seems to have a very solid frame, great engine and tons of options for customization. Honda was my runner up. But again, I'm gonna look closer at this particular Kubota. I already have a Kubota tractor and I love the machine and the dealership. Fortunately, my same dealership also sell the BRP products.

That was a really good review. Informative and entertaining. Thank you. I purchased a 2014 RTV Diesel for my dad on his 74th birthday. I deliberately purchased that machine for him for the following reasons: Low center of gravity. (Hard to roll over.) Easy to drive, and not too fast. Excellent power steering. Hydraulic dump bed. Today, I can't get him out of it. He drives it everywhere on our ranch. In fact, he blames weight gain on the fact that he walks a lot less because he drives his "buggy" everywhere. One problem with the hydrostatic drive system: It can be very hard to shift sometimes. The system builds up pressure and can do something similar to a "vapor lock". You can release the pressure by pressing very hard on the brake pedal. For a guy who is gaining on 80 years old, that can be difficult to overcome. Other than that, I have been extremely impressed with that machine. The one showed in this video seems like a more "hot-rod" version, but very, very well put together. Kubota is a tractor company. So even their hot rod versions are still going to be better than your average ATV. I have two Honda side by side machines. They're awesome for my custom farming operations. (They follow mechanical grape harvesters around mostly.) But I would strongly suggest the Kubota line for overall, general ranch duties. Gas or diesel mostly depends on where you live, how cold it is, and how fast you really think you need to go. But there is no way you can go wrong with a Kubota like this. I sold all of my standard ATV's. In 25 years of farming, and a serious focus on safety, I have had one major injury myself, and one life-threatening injury to an employee. Extremely unsafe. Side by sides, with seat belts and proper training, virtually assure a non-injurious and very safe vehicle. Thanks for a great review. I am going to go look at one of these hot rod Kubotas tomorrow.......but dad stays in the slower diesel model.

I have had a Honda Pioneer 700-4 for 4 years without the first problem. Use it almost every day. The few complaints I have were solved with the new Honda Pioneer 1000-5 models. The reason I went with Honda was mainly due to the transmission and the bed that converts easily to seating. I don't like CVT transmissions and the Honda Pioneer 700 has a 3 speed automatic transmission. The bed that converts to seating is by far my favorite feature.

Our old models it was difficult to pour oil in for that reason. We had the hydraulic open bed so the cylinder was always in the way too. Hated em had tons and tons of issues all the time needed constant repair and then they rusted out quickly.

Hey Josh I was shopping around for an side by side for around my dairy farm and I found one that I like it was an cub cadet 750. But the only thing I hate about it is all the hard to reach geese nipples

I used a Kubota RTV 1100 on the job, not impressed. Before you buy check out Honda, Canam and Polaris. I own a Polaris General which i'm happy with it has more power, leg room came with 4500 pound winch, stereo,1000cc engine adjustable shocks and way better doors. Make sure you do home work before buying.

1st order of business - remove that buzzer. I want the right to hurt myself if I want to on my machines because safety features tend to compromise reliability. Safety features are the #1 reason tractors don’t start or work...because the safety components fail - always. It’s the United States of America and I would like the option to assume my own risk 🤠. The manufacturers don’t realize how bad this stuff damages the user experience. I realize many will disagree but I feel like natural selection is nature’s idea - not mine and who are we to stand in the way by adding safety features? LOL 😂

august It is completely out of control. We have childproof lighters, gas cans without breathe vents (makes me spill WAY more gas), “fire safe” cigarettes, and tractor safety switches 🙂. Autonomous cars are soon going to be mandatory and driving in a city will be against the law (not kidding).

@@jessegreco6818, I hate those gas cans. I don't know who came up with that system, but they should have been fired ! Everyone hates them and like you said, MORE gas is spilled with them than without. Smh.

august LMAO! I think it was some fresh out of college kid who never used a gas can in his life. We joke about this dude all the time (who he may be and what he may have been thinking). I think I am going to look into the origin of this disaster because it is a classic terrible idea! 🤠

@@jessegreco6818, Ha ! Some tree hugger probably. Anytime I see an old gas can, I grab them with the hopes that the spout and plastic nut are still in good shape. There are kits you can buy on Ebay and Amazon but it makes me feel good to keep the old "Illegal" ones in use !!
