Yes, I'm from Victoria, Australia
What camera do you use?
I use my iPhone Животные
Thank you for watching! Like or Typo will crutch you!
Omg! I did it, I did it, I Liked!! 😮😅😅😅
I think your early videos attracted lots of viewers with no clue about farming or farm animals.
Could use a crutching, but liked anyway
Do you have to mill or treat the grain before you feed it to the lambs and sheep ,?
Don’t crutch me Typo!! ❤😂
People complaining about the sheep becoming meat really don't want to look at how the US farms meat. The lambs in this set up spend their whole lives out in a paddock eating grass with plenty of room to walk around and hang out with their sheep friends. There are no feed lots, no intensive farming practices, they get to live life as sheep have always lived, with the occasional trailer of grains dumped in their paddock for a treat. They then spend one confusing day going to the abattoir and die before they can get terrified. Unlike say pork or beef in the US which are terrified for most of their lives, pumped full of hormones and antibiotics an jammed into feed lots unable to move or hang out with friends, or run around, terrified from beginning to end. Give me free range grass fed lamb from a farm like this anyday.
I LOVE you responding to the comments - just the fact that people have the absolute audacity to be telling you how to do your job is unbelievable...😅 Love your videos, I learn so much!!
Every now and then I'll get a comment and this is literally me: 👁👄👁
@@TaraFarms 🤣🤣
@@TaraFarmsme too the audacity 😂😂😂😂 that’s like me, calling up the surgeon and telling them how to do their fucking job no. I don’t think so. I’m gonna leave it to them. 😂😂 people kill me. I love your videos! Keep it up!! ❤❤❤ love it all!!!
"Typo's not even putting on some basil" 🤣🤣
I’m a Canadian grandmother who watches Sandi Brock every post. She called you out, and now I watch you! Love you gutsy women. Thanks for your work.
Ma'am, I thought it prudent to let you know that 'call out' in internet popular language, is a negative term. It means to let other people know someone (who is being called out) did something pretty bad and others need to be wary of them. I will risk assuming you meant 'giving a shout out', which is the positive version! By giving someone a shout out, you let your community know that the person is neat and others should go have a look at them, because their work is plenty cool :).
If I misunderstood, and it was indeed a call out (to my surprise, haha) apologies 😅.
Cheers, ma'am :).
😂 yep, Sandi gave a shout out, did not call out. But it's all good. I clicked on this video because of the shout out as well :-)
@@T-J-C haha was scared there was some unknown to me cool sheep lady drama happening, thanks for letting me know :D
Exactly what I've done too!
I asked an honest question about what would she be doing if she wasn't doing sheep and for some odd reason she attacked me and I got banned from watching it I hope she's doing good still I don't know maybe she was just having a bad day it was right around the time that she had to put the one sheep down and had lost I think two babies or something so I don't know but it was an honest question she attacked me a few other people attacked me and literally the the question was if you weren't sheeping Sandy what would you be doing... I don't know maybe she was hacked or something but I wish the best for both of these women
OMG! I think I just found my new fav RUclipsr!!!! This was amazing😂😂 ps can I hire you to reply to my comments too??!!!😂😂🫣🫣
Crazy you watched this video, considering the subtle fan-girling at the start! 😂 Thank you for watching!!!
I've already got a full-time job with my comments 😂
I came to her channel after you talked about how brutally honest and funny she was.
ME TOO, well except for you of course Sandi 😜Thank you for recommending her!
A wild Sandi! Hi!
Sandi!!! Ty for sending me this way!! I’d love it if u hired me to reply to those certain comments for u… ppl wouldn’t know what hit them if I was to lmao xxxxxx.
"How can you live with yourself." My guy ... they're food. Always have been.
Can’t believe people are worried about fat shaming sheep 😂😂 . Fat is a calorie dense nutrient and important element in meat (as is protein). Lamb would be very bland without fat 😂 . I’m pretty sure sheep would prefer to be fat than thin. Well done Typo! What a good dog. Another great video 👍
I love how you talk about comments. People have no idea how much work goes into healthy 🐏
They don't, some people also don't understand that not all farming industries are the same and do the same stuff. I got lots of comments about 'what happens to the boys when they're born?' thinking it's a gotcha moment 😬😂
I’m smiling at your description of a ‘paddock'. Our paddock is at most an acre. Yours are the size of a small country. Fantastic.
It's surprising to learn that wool doesn't sell for a lot on your end, when it seems really expensive in yarn and hobby stores.
There's a lot that goes into the processing of the wool. I'm currently trying to find ways to potentially spin mine but it's a very expensive process I've come to find.
@@TaraFarms Is this just because there aren’t a lot of places to do the washing and spinning?
Yes all the mills are really large scale or have a massive blacklog. @@khills
And wool is such a lovely fabric to wear. I can remember when the Italian fashion houses were paying a premium for Australian wool.
Ya, spinning either costs you a lot of time or a lot of money. My aunt (who owned alpacas) said that felting was more cost-effective. She made felted hats and stripes of fiber used for bags or table runners. It was done with bubble wrap, which is fun.
Also, some places that do spinning do not wash, so she accidentally got fiber spun with straw and dust in it!
Tell em like it is, love ya guts, Tara. It's great to see a positive future for Australian agriculture. Ta heaps for the insight and honesty. Keep em coming, please.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Important that people are shown where their food comes from.
@@TaraFarmsyes it might be interesting to show people the harvesting process. I do know Sandi’s hubby relies on her and before their kids went university, Jess and Jack helped out. People do not know the worry the weather can be in harvesting. In fact we all are so dependent on rain and sun and once stuff is planted you don’t want a killing frost or a drought. I am a knitter, sometimes it is difficult to get actual wool, wool it’s not acrylic if you want to felt a hat or a sweater. I do love working with merino wool $$$ though . Now Sandi yes she breeds and raises sheep but she does so ethically, yet differently from you and Cammy Wilson. I just find it fascinating, farming in general. ❤ your channel, you speak your mind. Keep up the good work
It makes me sad to know that wool isn’t financially sustainable anymore because we (as consumers) don’t use wool as much as we used to.
And it's SO good as clothing!
Yeah, hopefully people are starting to realize that. And it will come back some. The amount of available products is rather small/limited apart from custom/commissioned products (which gets expensive, and always includes delays for creation)
The problem is the wool buyers pay sheep farmers pennies for their wool, then turn around and sell it for huge profits. Wool is expensive but very little of that money makes it back to the farmers. Knitting, crochet, weaving, and other fiber arts are having a huge resurgence these days so wool is definitely rising in popularity, but it remains prohibitively expensive for a lot of people. Also, many people refuse to buy Australian merino wool because of the controversial practice of mulesing.
I feel sad about it but also it makes my skin really itchy so I plan to do nothing to help. 😢
@@SdewebbI totally get that it can be irritating to some people. Although I’ve found it’s not itchy if I use really nice yarns. But it can be used for so many other things as well. Pillows and quilts, rugs, felt. Outerwear that doesn’t touch your skin directly. It also makes really good socks because they have antimicrobial properties and don’t smell as much.
Your sheep are living great lives and you are running a business. Nobody should feel entitled to judge you! Thanks for sharing!
9:17 Put some Fuucken chilli on her😂 had me die
I’m watching this video 7 months after publication and you’re already at 287k!!! Congrats!😊
" Fat shaming sheep " i just fell off my chair. Lolol . You have the best 1 liners !!
The lone defiant sheep hiding in the woods, I have named it RAM bo. Grats on the 100,000. You worked so hard to earn that. 💗
Lol my boyfriend tightens EVERYTHING like Captain America is coming to rob us! Need the fn pliers 😂
Thanks for the explanation about what you do with your sheep. Horrible to hear that the wool market has plummeted. I love wool. Wear it all the time.
As an avid fiber artist, who mostly works with wool, its fucking wild to me that selling fleece isnt really worth it. Cause fuck its expensive on my end 😂😂
I get that its a lot of work to go from fleece to bright green yarn, but dang, i truly wish the entire chain could profit ya know?
Truly magical to see herding dogs do their jobs. Found you through the RUclips shorts and now loving the videos coming out.
Thank you so much, I'm really glad you like the videos ☺
It’s funny hearing people be called idiots in an Australian accent. Fighting the Comments is the best part.
really proud of you, slug, and also tara on this big achievment huzzah!!! who would have guessed so many would be fascinated by thistle farming!
Was very excited for the button to arrive!! Typo's still not impressed. And neither did I, must be the prickly personality!
Please keep answering comments! It's hilarious the way you answer!! You make me laugh every video!! 😂
Well done Tara and Slug ❤
Thank you ☺
Yeah. I'm amazed at how she knows where they all need to go each time...even Slug knows exactly what to do. Great Aussie dog! Yep she deserves a big treat...she is a good helper..what would you do without her.
❤❤❤ I've been an Aussie since 1974. Ive always lived & worked in city/ suburbia. Ive learned so much more on your channel. Just fascinating.
I found your channel during a late night rabbithole (thank you algorithm) and instantly fell in love! Have no interest whatsoever in farms, grew up in the city etc but just love your content, humour and incredible work ethic! Wishing you and Slug and everyone else all the best :)
That is how my sheep interest started too.
Same here!
Thank you so much I appreciate that! I'm glad you found my content ☺
I've actually discovered a whole new appreciation for wool clothes. They do some cool stuff with wool these days.
Sent her by Sandi Brock! Found her because I started all this by watching The Sheep Game with Cammy Wilson. Watching these different farming channels sure makes me appreciate how much hard work, love and care goes into the food we buy at grocery stores! I'm in the states, but made respect to farmers everywhere now thanks to content such as yours!
I love your commentary! Is Typo your first working dog? Congratulations on the Silver Button!
Yes Typo is my first one ☺
Just tuned in! So VERY happy🥰🥰🥰 when I hear people mentioning good weeds"!!!! 🥰🥰🥰 (They could sustain "us" too....). 🥰🥰👃✌️🇨🇦
I just got drop-kicked in the face with memories of me great uncle's old joint down never never by this vid lol, it's always nice to see aussie agriculture/livestock folk trucking along.
it's a right shame that wool and fleece prices are so buggered these days, it's such a fine material to wear/work with, but if it operates at a loss what can ya do... At least meat stays relatively consistent.
Bless you for your continuing, vital work!!
Merino still has some value, but sheep like the primelines cost to shear. I should have made that more clear in the video sorry.
Me here knowing nothing about sheep and living in Venezuela enjoying the content and actually thinking these sheep live very well until they no longer live. We are supposed to eat animals, no need to torture them for that so this is good balance
I appreciate your open mind 😊
Hi Tara, just a quick question/potential content idea, and if you did this already, my fault. Would you be able to put your different sheep side by side to see the difference between them, and give a little breakdown of them with your experience? Or even a video dedicated to each type of sheep you work with? It would be great to learn about them, and I know I could google it, but I'd rather hear it straight from someone with loads of experience with them. Plus hearing you swearing about them is always gold! Love the videos!
Always appreciate learning about cropping in another country! Bring on Liam.
Just a month ago you reached 100k.
You've tacked on another 64k in weeks.
You're a viral sensation!
Love you Tara what an inspiration you are to young girls looking into ag ❤
Thank you, I hope I encourage girls to do more traditional 'boy jobs' ☺
And wearing pink whilst doing it! ❤
It makes me so happy that you are watching Sandy Brock. Cuz you and her are my favorite sheep/farming youtubers ❤
It's very interesting to get a different perspective on farming sheep in another country!
Thank you for another fantastic farm vlog. :3
To give an answer to your question to the viewers: I love accompanying you so I find a hop onto the harvester with Liam interesting but I don’t want to miss out on too much content with you.
So a few clips are certainly nice but a lot of the charm is your character so I don’t want to miss that. :3
But you could collect questions about the harvesting and do an “interview” vlog with Liam together, that might be fun. Anyways, have a good week and thank you again. ❤
Harvesting content will be in addition to my content, it'll just appear in the video so probably a little longer than it would have been.
Thank you for your ideas 😊
Yay, then I am for some harvesting shots. :3 Thank you for always trying to tweak the format to make it still more interesting to us viewers. Thant is a lot of work.❤
And very welcome for the ideas, they sprout in my brain anyways so I might as well share them with you. ;D@@TaraFarms
Not a sheep farmer and will never be one but my mom was raised on a big farm and I visited often growing up and am facinated with your vids and Typo aka Slug and how you take care of your sheep and your crops. 👍🏻 My question is how much land do you have? Looks like alot, and reminds me of my great-grandad's farm in Missouri that was 1000 acres. Love your content and don't ever change! Love from a S.W. Missouri USA granny! 🐑 ❤🐑
P.S. loved Slug's moistening intermissions! 😂❤
I'm glad you enjoyed the Slug intermissions, I'll be sure to include more. We're on around 1,800 hectares. I visited Missouri when I was younger and we stayed at my Mum's friend's house in Iowa ☺
@@TaraFarms Wow so you have almost 4500 acres then! Awesome! That's wild you've been to Missouri and Iowa as I have family there too! Glad we'll get more Slug intermissions, as they make my day! He seems like such a quiet but hard working doggo! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply! Love all that you do and your content! Yes more please! ❤️👍🏻
Love watching Sandi as her farming is so different to us in Aus. Her golden girls that were let onto grass and had no idea it was food, 😂, and dealing with snow 😮. I am in NE Vic, the grass is now brown, kangaroos are a pest, and we are preparing for fire season.
This isn't Sandi.
who is sandi
It's very interesting to see that! Couldn't imagine farming in the snow! It's was starting to turn/already did in some places but their weather might bring it back for a little longer!
@@typingnoises Sandi has a sheep farm channel also found here on RUclips (I believe Sandi is in America.)
Sandi does the same thing as Tara. But Sandi isn't as fun, I don't recall a dog, nor an intellectual sense of humor.
Sandi is Canadian. Her channel is Sheepishly Me. Sandi and Tara are two mighty good, mighty different sheep farmers.
Came over from Sandi's channel. She was right! I laughed so hard . 🤣
You mention a drop in engagement when you're filling up with grain, get a bindi/seed stuck and miss out on showing your feet. That'll get the number up, mate 😂😂😂
Thanks again for the new post, and I hope the bad weather isn't too disruptive.
The weather is absolutely nuts. Expecting that to be a feature of next week’s video
That's the one 😂😂😂 and it's not great! Super wet and windy. I'll be filming next week's vlog tomorrow!
It costs me 20 dollar's a sheep to be sheared here in Tasmania not sure what the big flocks are I love your videos so much I have watched your videos two times just incase I have missed something
Usually, it's more expensive to get hobby farms shorn because it's fewer sheep. $20 for a small mob seems reasonable, but I have no idea about the sheep market in Tasmania.
Tu le mérites 1 millions de fois. 👍👍👍
Thank you for the answer about the lambs! I work at a grocery store that sells lamb shank and shoulder steaks (from New Zealand), and I was curious how old they would have been, considering the steaks and shanks are so small
It could have been a smaller breed, I don't know a lot about lamb production in NZ our first lambs are starting to go now. That will be coming up over the next few months in the vlogs.
Another fantastic vlog tara
Thank you Pauly as always for watching!
Congratulations, Tara & Typo 🎉
From Long Island, New York, USA. Thank you for teaching me about your sheep adventures. I love Australian lamb which we get frozen in the supermarket.
Didn't realise wool was less prevalent, though it makes sense with how clothes are made with cotton and synthetic fibres nowadays. Doesn't help that good wool clothes cost hundreds either. Fair enough on raising sheep for meat. People gonna eat, at least have farmers who care.
Wool is expensive to process I've found. I'm trying to get some of my wool processed to see if people on here would want to buy some of my pet sheep's wool. But it's very expensive for what I've found so far and isn't worth doing.
Hi Tara 👋 Sandi sent me over...great channel your a real hoot xx uk England
After a god awful week this is the ray of sunshine I needed. Been really hot too in Western Australia.
You had rain today? We've been pissed down on!
@@TaraFarms we had like 3ml in the last 24 hours. So not a lot
Ohhh I needed some amazing Tara energy!
Congratulations! 💛 The dog glitter just makes it bespoke 😉🐕

Yes Sandi Brock did a shoutout for your RUclips. Glad I subscribed.
Just stumbled on your channel in my feed & decided to subscribe. I've been following Sandi Brock 2 or 3 years, so when you mentioned her, you really got my attention.
Love the fact you're part of a (dirt) farming community as well as sheep. Since I can no longer travel, still get to learn of life in other places thru videos like yours. (BTW, seeing you have closed captions enabled means I won't miss many.😊)
Congratulations on your achievement. You have an awesome personality. 👌 Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Hugs from USA

I love your videos. I also love eating lamb. I’m the only Aussie accent my pups hear on a regular basis so they all gather around when I watch your videos. You’re a household favourite
I'm glad I can entertain a dog! Typo is a tough crowd and my other two don't seem to care for me either😂
@@TaraFarms well my boys love it. I stream to the tv so they get to watch the sheep too.
Albie doesn’t care about the sheep. He only watches you. Alfonse and Bizzy intently watch all. Bizzy especially loves Typo and the other farm dogs.

And that's Breakfast.
lol!
Congratulations on the YT Award
Sandi Brock actually just mentioned u in a video Tara!!! She recommended all her fans watch u!!
Hello Tara,
Thanks for explaining so much.
• Lamb is still about $26/kilo in the shops, and it seems growers aren't getting that. What can consumers do to support farmers, and cut out greedy Coles/Woolies?
• Next season of "Muster Dogs" is on ABC in January. There is an advert with a young farmer who looks a lot like you, but she doesn't get to talk, so not sure. Are you in this series? I realise you probably can't say, so just ignore me.
Good luck with this summer mate, the 1913/14 drought was the end of my family's farm out in the Wimmera.
Stay safe, love your great working dogs.
you forget, the comment experts might also have experience with children's barnyard books where they learned that sheep go baaaaa
Good point. Might need to go do some research!
I love lamb. They are delicious little bastards. ❤ Keep up the great work Tara!
Sandi Brock recommended your Chanel to her viewers ! So, here I am 😉
Slug means everything to me I love her
Your channel was recommended by Sandi 😂 loved the not copying her ❤
I’ve been watching Sandi for years! Love your channel too! You’re awesome!
I just watched Sandi’s latest video this morning, and she mentioned Tara’s channel. An hour later, the RUclips algorithm suggested this episode. A new subscriber from Houston Texas.
Love to hear you are watching Sheepishly Me. She is where i started watching sheep content. ❤😂
It's interesting to see how other sheep farmers farm, especially in other countries with different climates!
Congtats on the 100k RUclips plaque 👍♥️🙂
We have an hour drive to go into town and really enjoy audio books.
this is such a dream to live on a farm with sheep but mainly cattle and a beautiful sheep dog/ work dog ❤❤ love you both so much
Congrats to you and slug! 😊😊
Tara, I love you. Your content is so refreshing !!
There are times that those sheep seem reasonably intelligent. Well, reasonably might be a stretch but they are able to figure out how to get through the fences and cause you trouble which I suppose could be more stubborn than intelligent. But then there are are moments that show these sheep have about 10 brain-cells between them. Moments such as forgetting which way they came or thinking they can hide in the 2 trees of shade.
When it comes to crutching and spraying, giving them those nice pink shades on their rears, I like to imagine that there is a small group of the eldest sheep who get together and gossip whenever a sheep comes back all pink. Kind of like a collection of old biddies wondering what the new girl on the block was up to to come home in such a state.
"Did you see veronica come back from that place with that horrible shade of pink all over her? What do you think she got up to in there?"
"I heard that only the most disobedient get that and it is a mark of shame. Look how she lost her back wool, clearly a shaming ritual."
"Well I heard QUITE the ruckus when she met that nice ram the other day. I think she must have gotten a little frisky, the lucky girl, and now they've marked her for it."
"Maybe she chose it herself? Wanted a change from being so disgusting all the time and went and had herself done up all nice?"
"Oh posh, clearly that girl has no taste if she did choose it herself. It must be a punishment, no self respecting sheep would choose to look that way."
I mean, we don't really know what the sheep say to each other so they COULD be doing this. Probably not though.
They definitely could be! I don't think they have near the same intelligence as dogs but they're something going on between the ears! 😂
Nice wool socks. And book recomendatios are fine. I'm currently gearing up to head to the World Science Fiction Convention in Scotland in August. Members vote on the Hugo awards, which are the biggest award in Science Fiction. . . And I'm friends with a couple authors who will be there.
I just read janets book too!
It was absolutely heart wrenching, I really shouldn’t have read it in 2 days.
Congratulations to you Tara
