    Even though tutorial is like 3y old and there are bunch of those D&B tutorials over RUclips, I find this one is a gold! I do believe it is important to answer question "why" and tip about bigger parts first really helped me to not waste time on doing micro for hours and still not getting desired outcome

    Hi Zoe :) Really an interesting video.
    I saw your work, I immediately fell in love with it.
    I have been practicing the technique for almost a year but I continue to flatten too much. I would like to raise my awareness of the bone structure.
    do you have any links to recommend to educate my eyes?
    thank you so much

    • @zoenoblephoto
      @zoenoblephoto  2 года назад +1

      Hi Dylan! Thank you! I don't have links as I would recommend reading high-end fashion magazine (Vogue European versions) and study the images as these are the best retouching in the world. If you're flattening too much then you might be over dodging and burning so don't zoom in too far. Only retouch to the intended output so if the image is for instagram or web you shouldn't be zooming in too close. Hope this helps!

    Brilliant video. Extremely useful. I would love to see the dodge and burn process entirely rather than it being fast forwarded. I feel most videos always forward that part but I feel that whenever i dodge and burn, my images turn out blotchy and i know im doing something wrong. A non fastforwarded video would be nice to clear out what i am doing wrong

    Zoë have you ever tried using a solid color adjustment as a help layer instead of hue/saturation ? Set the color to black, change blend mode to color. Pratik Naik uses this method to help seeing the tonal differences. This technique prevents color shifting.

      yes ive been using it lately and love it!! :D Always learning and Pratik is the master :)

      Leandro Ilha Martins you get the same results using the hue/sat as long as you change the blending mode
