It's nice to know you are back after such a long period of time. I really do enjoy your videos, especially this one on Dodge & Burn trick. Thanks for sharing.
@PSDesire First Welcome Back .. Thank you very much for doing this tutorial helped my photo allot you have some of the best photoshop technics .. and may I say I love your new voice videos with you talking us through the directions it is much easier to follow your tutorial .. you have a wonderful voice and I love the accent ..( I am from States) will you be remaking some of you older videos with the voice instead of the music there is a few that is my favorites
Nice. I use a different method that doesn't manipulate the existing colors so dramatically (which blend modes do). I just boost highlights and shadow using 1 curve for each. Mask/reveal them back in. This only controls the existing colors "as they are" and doesn't create additional effects to the colors as is common with blend modes.
Good tut. I use to do it like that only less complicated. Make 2 copies of your base layer (2 x command/ctrl J) Instead of Screen and Multiply I use ColorBurn and ColorDodge (but it works also good with screen and multiply) . So one of the copies gets a ColorBurn blending mode and the other a ColorDodge blending mode Apply a black mask on each of the two layers (black is hidden) Take a soft brush with a low flow and paint white (electing the masks) where you want the highlights and darks to be visible Every stroke (flow) will make it more visible As addition, you can put a blur on the mask if you need a softer softer transition
Hello, I apologize for the translation. I don't speak English. But this hasn't stopped me from following your interesting videos and learning many things, you are really good. Thanks ciao.
Great video, loved the simple and effective technique! One question though, when adjusting the Blending Options of the Dodge/Burn layers, I noticed in the Dodge Blending you split the triangle and moved it towards the white. In the Burn Blending, you split the triangle and again moved towards the white, when I expected you to move it to the black this time. Was this intentional, or a mistake?

I'm using PS Cc 2018 and there is no option for "group from layers" I don't have the option as you did during time 4.24 in this video.
Am I supposed to Dodge & Burn first or do frequency separation first
Genial
Amuzing please could you make the retouch on Black Skin or Dark-Skin
What is the alternative of pressing the alt key?
Could you create an action to do this?
This video explains it better
