at 2:18 -- that's not quite right, Mitch. The trim control is an output control to compensate for the gain changes introduced by the headroom/impedance. From the Luna manual: " The trim setting allows you to compensate for gain changes introduced by the summing headroom and impedance controls, and allows you to increase or decrease the overall level of the summing bus. The available range is +4 dB to +28 dB. You can rotate the knob or double-click it to choose a value from the drop menu.
I questioned that as well. Was thinking surely the trim’s an output attenuator and not an input control - especially as it’s the right knob and not the left (putting aside rare exceptions like LA-2A’s). Appreciate you clarifying this. 👍🏻
Hi guys. Nice video. Love it. I'm new using Luna. Recently I imported a session of 40 tracks in wave format. But my session in WAV format is jumping within bars when played in LUNA. What do you think it may be? Thank you
Remember Mitch comes from the old magazine world of sharing info and he has continued to have that mentality. The unasked question still remains why wasn't this incorporated into Console since we are already forced to have to deal with Console just to use Universal Audio interfaces? Universal Audio instead is trying to use it to sell a lack luster DAW. LUNA has a long way to go before it can even remotely compete with what's in high use and while the API and NEVE summing does have an aspect it's still makes you have to work in the DAW of choice then figure out how you want to get it to LUNA. Not advantageous for the end user.
Hi Mitch - Hope you are well! I've bought an 8p and an x8p from Sweetwater - very pleased! Give us the inside scoop. When will LUNA be available for Windows?
By the way, did you did a proper gainstageing of this mix? I could just put a izotope vintage limiter or a good tape emulation on the master bus and achieve the same results. Don't make such promising claims and let the people believe in magic without showing the results on your metering tool! I bought that console emulation and the results are very subtle. I increased loudness just a tiny little bit. It is not as loud as you presented it on this video.
Hello, Mr. Morpheus! The Neve summing software described in this video is not a plug in, but an extension that runs within Luna. It cannot be used within any other DAW. Thanks for the interest! Cody Kraus, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1766, cody_kraus@sweetwater.com
Hello Mitch, at first greetings from Germany and thank you for your effort to create the video. But... do you realize, that your voice is blowing my ears away when i am turning the music loud to hear your example and you restart to speak? I mean, that your voice and the music should have the same level, the music is much quieter . it is not particularly beneficial if you are speaking when i`m trying to listen and hear the difference between on and off. it would be very good, to let the music samples play much longer and seperate your comment from the samples. Nevertheless thank you again and all good wishes
Not even using luna just because they want u to buy summing to use the software at 500 a pop I'm Kool starting to see u can't win for losing with any interface
UA products are great , however their support and costumer service is the worst ever , horrible ... unable to get any help from Universal Audio ...just be aware

Hey!
Mitch, you’re still the best reviewer of gear out there today! Keep it up my friend!
This is better than the marketing videos on the UA site. This is a musician speaking to musicians.

Thank you Mitch it was the first thing I bought to go with Luna and I love it. :)
Thanks Mitch and Sweetwater. This answered all my questions regarding the Neve summing extension.

Then do you really need the api console if you your using the neve summing in Luna?

I wish Neve Summing was available in LOGIC. I'm recording in Luna then stemming out to LOGIC. I'm enjoying Luna but wish for less steps. Good job UA!

Mitch did you say Neve summing came free with Luna? It looks like they changed their minds as it’s $299 to add to Luna. Is this correct?
Mine read, "Start Trial".
You need to look at it this way...LUNA comes free with Neve summing ;)
They offer it for 150 €rightnow
this is a monster mix
Summing inside LUNA w/UAD NEVE, then send it to summing in dangerous D-BOX or just one stage of summing ?

Do these summing plugins only work with luna? They dont work like other uad plugins? I have dangerous summing..im trying to understand

Sad to find out that the LUNA Neve extension requires UA hardware even though i runs in demo mode natively
Does Neve Summing work on ProTools 2012 (maybe as a plugin?) -- ??
No. It only works with LUNA.
I wish I could use Luna without having a UAD interface. Ah well
Analog Obsession has a plugin called Konsol
Wish I didn't have to pay for a summing jump off just makes luna less desirable

Looks useful. Just can't justify paying that price for a plugin exclusive to a single daw. It's about to be '23 man..

worst demo ever. You turned on the summing right when the second guitar comes in. Obviously it is going to sound fuller.

I've had great results with their customer service.
wakeup up to sleep , everywhere is “ LUNA “ learning .🤦🏼♂️ . it’s very boring. 👎
