I love your videos. I have the Apollo X4 and Luna. There are a lot of videos making a mix but I not see any Luna musicians having a video about what happens after the mix - the mastering part so the music can be uploaded on SoundCloud - would you be willing to make a short master video of this same project so it can be uploaded to SoundCloud. Would help a lot :-) thanks
Tried it on laptop for summing group stems , the tape emulation sounds very nice , as does the Neve summing , here’s the issue , the fx demos have blurred screens and can’t be adjusted , there’s only presets 🤮 that isn’t a demo :-/ settings are program dependent and vary so not being able to tweak at all doesn’t work for me . I have a UA accelerator and would like to run Luna on my other machine but it won’t install correctly , I’ve tried the help bot but not having any luck , other than that it’s a good sounding DAW 👍🏻 Ps maybe better VST support for older plugins ?
Just started using Luna. Does it have an offline processing mode? Trying to run some individual clips in a track through iZotope and I can't find where to process them without using them as an insert. Thank you!
Please talk about the process of demoing the Neve console buss and other Luna extensions. I pressed demo and couldn't figure out whether it belongs on iLok or my host computer...? Anyway, It says "activate license" on the product page and "license missing" in my session. Thank you! Great vids...
Loved these 3 Luna videos! Still haven’t purchased my interface and about the best I can do on my budget would be an Apollo twin x duo. Anyone know if I’d be able to come close to this quality with that?
Thank you for this. At the time of this writing, I'm kind of stuck because my work flow uses mostly outboard gear in Logic. I have a Twin, but my main interface is a Titan routed to all my I/O. I've been using UAD plugins for mixing (instead of printing everything through outboard gear), but quickly run out of DSP even thought I have 2 Octo Satellites. The best fix would be a 8p Apollo, but I don't have the money. So last night I opened the audio form my current Logic project into Luna and wow, the sound is much bigger. (But I can't find out how to monitor). What I need Luna for is the summing (API) and API channel strips. Also I can use many more instances of Capitol Chambers. What I think I'll do is first add some analog saturation via hardware compression in Logic, then open in Luna. My biggest problem is that I want to use my hardware API 2500+ instead of the Luna version on the main output. But I suppose I can just do the mix bus in Logic after everything is summed.
Great tutorial thank you. Sorry to change your subject...but if you are using Screenflow to record your video perhaps, how did you get sound to come from Luna? My ScreenFlow will not record computer audio when using Luna.....still does for everything else but not Luna. Thanks. =)
The voice-over and audio output from the X4 (Luna interface) are being recorded on a second system. No easy way to make it all work with just one system.
Finally a good overview. I notice few plugins use 50% of your Apollo 4X dsps at 48Khz . I think Luna needs 1 or 2 8x pci accelerators to be used massively with Uad plugins.
How are these features any better than whats out there at the moment? I LOVE UAD but i just dont see the value of getting into a new DAW . as far as Summing, Acustica Audio has amazing plugins and workflows for this that will probably end up costing the same as buying the extra plugins on the Luna platform and there is much less of a workflow interruption. Ans im really disappointed with the way they implemented the midi workflow... maybe as a mix platform...
I think using it for tracking is good because of Zero Latency. But other than that, I just use Logic. On a side note, Neve summing sounds awesome but it's not enough to keep me in Luna.
For one thing if you are into external summing and processing, the work flow is better and more effective for apollo users. In Logic I cant mix externally and monitor with sonarworks vut in Luna I can🙂
I love a lot about luna. But i don't like the way the mixer is setup. Having to scroll vertically is kinda odd. Not being able to see everything that's going on bugs me. I need a huge vertical screen haha also controller support for bobs sake. For a software that's trying to emulate analog stuff, you'd thing having physical faders would be something they'd add our the gate haha
I make busses differently than you did. I'll highlight the tracks I want to group, like drums, then click the master output button on any of the tracks. A window opens on the left where you type in the name of your bus, add the summing plugin, then hit enter. No need to assign individual tracks to their bus output.
Thank you very much James was sharing your knowledge with us every video helps. I’m shopping for a computer iMac but I look at the videos because I’m really impressed by Luna I’m a beginner taking baby steps so it’s a lot of stuff to learn thank you again my friend I really appreciate it look forward to seeing more great videos from you God bless your brother.
The colors look great. I wish protools add more colors and make them as clean as lunar and cubase. I am never interested in USD because I think they over price their products. Sounds good but not enough for me to spend all that money.
I love Luna so far but I’m only interested in neve summing with real analog instruments. Bussing midi instruments for me is almost defeating the purpose sonically.
The current lack of a hardware insert is a deal-breaker for me plus a few other key issues are less essential but annoying. I think they should have waited to release this or call this an open beta.
There are hardware inserts. I didn't know this but tried it with my Silver Bullet last night and it works great. You just route out to your hardware, in to whatever you want. Some people complain there there is no delay compensation for hardware inserts and there is not but Luna is all about there being no delay so...nothing to compensate for?
@@riktascale4 I didn't spend much time with Luna when I had it...but the sends not only go to busses and but to the physical outputs of the hardware? How bad is the latency coming back in?

You did the Neve summing before the tape. Not saying that's wrong. I'm just curious why?
Why would you make a stereo guitar bus if they are both panned mono up the center?
HI, do you know how to strip silence in Luna

@Joel Roberto I just checked it out, but it is a movie site - do they upload also mix and master viceos?

You’ll need an ilok usb for offline usage at the moment

I like that it runs Native now. With the API console and NEVE summoning
Excellent video! Thank you so much! I am starting to mix my tracks in luna after producing them in Ableton. Figuring out the bus thing was killing me!

Thank you so much! Those videos are really amazing !
Anyone had any problems with their Luna mixdowns running into errors when uploaded to a digital distributor? Mine keep getting kicked back for errors
Did you get this issue resolved?
How about some auto tune on the vocals?
Lmao
No Mix Bus?...
So what about mastering?

What exactly is a BV channel? Anyone?

Very helpful….well done.
Great summary of the mixing workflow and features in LUNA, keep up the great content! 👍
So what you're saying, mate, is that luna is a ripoff of cubase just exclusively for Mac users?
Why aren't you guys being honest about the fact that most of these so called built in effects are indeed quite expensive and doesn't come built in.?
Yeah, it's rubbish
dopemcee Do you already own UAD interfaces or accelerators?
I think he thought everyone knew that.
Awesome thank you!
