Took me a while to realised why he was toppless then i actually read the apron. Then it just bothered me. made me think he didnt know anything about piping. But he did so that was helpful.
I'm a new starter but I can't wait to learn so been looking at some you tube video's blimey they really ramble on and on and on I find you the best one you explain things so quick and good and you show the nozel which helps alot 👍and your fun to watch 😉 THANKYOU .
Not to complain about you or anything but.. Can you tell your camera man to focus sometimes on your work so we could see well on your designs?hahaha Thanks!! Love your videos anyway!! :)
This is so good! I lost so many cupcakes by trying to decorate it perfectly. I guess I need a little bit of paper-practise. Thank you for these gorgeous tips :)
You can also save some buttercream by putting parchment paper on top of your tracing paper. You can also save some paper that way. 😊 and if you make a mistake you can easily wipe it away.
When I was new to all this, I tried it on a parchment paper and when I was done, I scrapped everything, put it back in the piping bag and tried new designs
Wow, I never thought of using paper! I made two dozen cupcakes today just so I could practice piping! I think I will do what some others thought of...place my paper inside of a clear plastic page protector so I could scrape and re-use buttercream. Brilliant! You are so adorable and your biceps are amazing!
Topless in the kitchen, speaking spanish working with french tips and to top it off, a video full of innocently said innuendos. It was extremly educational though, so thumbs up!!!! Thank you!
Hi Matt! This is simply next level for me, a beginner. It is so helpful. I can’t wait to practice with my faux buttercream. I’ve subscribed and liked, of course. Many, many thanks! Thank you 🙏🏾💜
This just got interesting 😂 I just wanted to learn a few techniques and ended up hypnotized🙈 will have to re watch this vid because its really distracting can't focus on different type of tips 😜 thank you will try this.
Making it cake tomorrow for my mother in law's b-day and wasn't sure what to do on top but now I'm going to go borrow mums piping tip set to try these and attempt some fancy piping! Never tried before but you made it simple, and easy to practice. Thanks for another great video! Would love more like this!
Tip is no longer a word to me anymore after how many times you've used it. Also, totally going to use this as I got a lot of tips as a birthday gift from friends! Thank you!
I would like to see you use more types of tips please :) what are all the Russian tips and .... I would like to try to pipe some succulent plants onto cupcakes - any technique ideas on that? And then .... no one seems to do old fashioned lace looking cake decorating - but I’m not sure if that’s a Royal icing on fondant situation that can’t be done on a frosted cake? I like your apron too btw :)
Love the video. My husband got me 45 different tips and no # on them or paperwork to show what each tip dose. This helps out a lot ty. We are friends now on my end.
Gosh u r fun to watch.. I bet I wasn't following 😂😂..but hey I learnt a lot. Tell ur camera guy to put the camera on the techniques and not all on you... OMG u r a distraction 😘😎😂😂
Thanks for this! It was exactly what I was looking for/needed. It’s hubby’s bday today & I’m gonna decorate his annual scratch made German Chocolate cake for the 1st time. (Yes, I have a store bought frosting for practice 1st). While I’m an excellent baker, I’ve never been a cake decorator. But, I’m feeling much more confident now thanks to you! Off to practice your techniques & bake the afternoon away...
Love your videos Matt, great tip it helps alot. In my youth I used to do cakes from a mix, now I make my own without a mix. I always been nervous on piping cakes
I feel like not everyone has plastic pouches or laminators but nearly everyone has paper at home. But I mean the point was just to practice on traceable flat surfaces pretty much
I’m really having a difficult time learning the techniques...will have to keep rewatching because I can’t seem to concentrate for some odd reason. I think it’s you accent that’s distracting me ^^ Thank you for sharing...hehehe
Great video Matt! You make it look so inviting, and easy, as well as tempting to do more piping in the future for people to just put down a piece of parchment paper and go for it!
When my mother was teaching herself how to decorate with buttercream she did exactly this but on parchment baking paper so she could just scrape it all off and put it back into her piping bag over and over. It's also wonderful for roses when you need alot of them. Parchment paper on a small cookie sheet and make a bunch of roses on a flower needle and transfer to the paper and pop them in the fridge to get them nice and stiff so they can be placed easier without them melting into one another. I do this too especially when I need to write on a cake or decorate and k haven't for a while, so I practice on a sheet of parchment paper. I feel it's a waste to do this on regular paper but the technique is the best way to gain experience.
I love that you said ‘numero dos’ it was so cute! I’m from México 🇲🇽! And Christmas is coming! I’m definitely using that techniques for future cookies! Thanks!
Allison, this comment makes no sense. You are okay with no shirt but object to the apron slipping? Has it slipped? Do you often perseverate over things that have not happened ? Sadly, life is going to be difficult for you.
Use wax paper with the lines underneath! Then after you practice you can scrape it back into the piping bag and theres less waste! :)
great idea!!
Was about to say the same thing
I was going to say this 😂
Thank you! Great idea and you're recycling😊
Michelle Li yesss I will do that
I didnt actually think they were going to be topless..... Honestly just wanted to learn how to pipe a cupcake LMAO
the toplessness is just a bonus then!
um... sure? I guess lmao
I mean it was very educational? Thumbs up
Same. It kinda makes me uncomfortable
Took me a while to realised why he was toppless then i actually read the apron. Then it just bothered me.
made me think he didnt know anything about piping. But he did so that was helpful.
love how everything is in focus so I can see whats going on very well.

Totally just realised I did 8 😂😂 oops! Oh well you get a bonus one AND you learned that I can't count 😂

paper practice makes perfect :)

My mom decorated cakes. Thank you for making me think of her. Memories are flowing.

Thank you 🙏🏾💜
Your video is very useful esp for beginners. Big up
great!!
Whoever filmed this wasn’t focusing on your techniques...
Joseph Angelo Sesate Moraza true, does not show the tip clearly
I so much agree, he's so into my face, blabbering all the way.
HA! xD now that you mention it, you're so right.
Agreed, very much Agreed
Very very true! Exactly what I was thinking
Very good tutorial on some basic piping techniques. Matt, nice style.
Omg thanks I’m doing a layered cake for my birthday all by my self and this really helped 🤗
Very good teacher . Thank you Matt . I liked the way you teach .
This just got interesting 😂 I just wanted to learn a few techniques and ended up hypnotized🙈 will have to re watch this vid because its really distracting can't focus on different type of tips 😜 thank you will try this.
hope it helps!!
I know I'm a little late to the party, but this video was so great and helpful! Are the tip numbers the same regardless if you use Wilton or Ateco?
Making it cake tomorrow for my mother in law's b-day and wasn't sure what to do on top but now I'm going to go borrow mums piping tip set to try these and attempt some fancy piping! hi matt, much helpful for me! keep showing the good work. thank you
This is so useful for beginners! I could imagine having a gradient/ombre icing using those techniques and it would be 😍!
oh that would look great!
This is the strangest, but by far the most helpful cupcake frosting video I’ve seen so far
Love the topless tutorial.
I got a job at a bakery as a cake decorator with zero experience and you dont know how much this has helped me 😩❤️
oh amazing!!
Me : why in the hell does he not have a shirt on ... (reads RUclips name ) ohhhhh okay .
OMG I'm going to go buy buttercream after work! Also, love the bright colors. I'm so excited, thank you!
OMG I love you, you have such a perky attitude in teaching! I just subscribed to your channel can't wait for more videos!!

Lol he’s not teaching for real that’s just an excuse for the real reason
learned some new things from a topless baker. now, i could learn some tips from a bottomless baker.

If you use a sheet of parchment paper you can just scrape it off and keep practicing over and over :)
ahh so smart!!
Or you could just do it on the pan base
Very Helpful, Thank You, I pray 🙏 you continue to help others.

Love your videos Matt, great tip it helps alot. In my youth I used to do cakes from a mix, now I make my own without a mix. I always been nervous on piping cakes
would have been a smarter idea to laminate the paper/put in a plastic pocket, can scrape the buttercream off and keep practicing
+LittleDashOfMagic I don't know anyone that owns a laminator 😂😂
I feel like not everyone has plastic pouches or laminators but nearly everyone has paper at home. But I mean the point was just to practice on traceable flat surfaces pretty much
cling film too?
Great way of explaining... Very interesting.. Will surely try it...
James Charles + Clark Kent = this dude
Why??! I can't stand JC plus he talks like a wind up toy ...now I can't watch ..😩😩😩
thank you po for sharing the different piping techniques... I learned a lot since I am still a beginner...thank you once again
I love your videos 😍😍
awww thank you!
Great idea 💡 save buttercream by putting an acitate sheet over top, then when finished, scrape it off and use again. Love your videos. Thanks ☺️
great idea!!
I'm thinking he doesn't eat too many of his confections
Loved it. If you put some plastic over the paper, you could scrape the buttercream off and reuse it!
great idea!
When I saw “topless Baker” I envisioned something a little different. Thanks anyways 😏
YourFutureExHusband 22 disturbing huh?
Thank you sooo much for your help 😩. This amateur pastry chef is currently binging all of your videos to educate herself 😅.

Spanish. But sounds close to portuguese!! S2
This is the most helpful video for amateur bakers. Thanks so much
so glad it helped!!
Great techniques, great muscles but it'd be better if the focus was more on the techniques than on the shirtless baker, sir.
Great video Matt! You make it look so inviting, and easy, as well as tempting to do more piping in the future for people to just put down a piece of parchment paper and go for it!
really hope it helped!
Oh my those muscles. You need to cover them because I can't focus on the piping ;););):):):):D:D;D
Neither can the cameraman lol
I enjoyed watching this. Very easy and fun.

Man, put a shirt on at least, what's the purpose?
Beatrice Quintana I agree
the channel's name is TOPLESS Baker, if u don't like it, don't watch it
Mr. Topless, Please don't listen to Beatrice Quintana, she is obviously demented. I had never found baking so entrancing.
I don’t mind no shirt but when he has an apron on that can slip..... it’s ehhh
