I am simply in awe of these tips, have used them quite a number of times , but still never managed to pinpoint the issues you have addressed about why the flowers have rough edges or why they were starting to mush up halfway through the cake. I thought it was me, but now I know differently. I watched the video a second time and used your recipe for ABC and it worked really well. Yes, there is a bit of a learning curve, but I have it down pat now. I'll be using these tips for some cupcakes and a layer cake for Mother's Day this year. If anyone is worried about the plastic wrap trick being wasteful, I've used it lots and I actually find it means I can clean the plastic piping bags much easier than I normally would (thus meaning I don't ever throw those out!).

Thanks for this. I think my frosting consistency has always been the problem...lol. One thing I do to avoid warming up the piping bag is to used rubberized garden gloves to hold the bag. This prevents the heat transfer from my hand :)
