This rifle is scary accurate. I nailed a coyote, head shot, at just under 100 yards using Hornady 20 gr XTP...dropped it instantly. I was just setting up to start plinking with my 8yo niece and she spotted something jumping up and down on one of the round bails in the middle of the field. It had just rained and the coyote came out to look for field mice. Usually I hunt coyote with my 223 (also Ruger American) but all I had on hand were three rimfire rifles but the 17 was loaded and ready to go. Then got my niece to do her chipmunk sound impression, coyote looked towards me and a second later it was done. Good choice on the Ruger. Excellent accuracy with irons, deadly accurate with a scope! I was the same about the Savage 93r 17hmr GV, it's a very accurate shooting rifle but to me, the American Ruger is better quality built. Thanks for sharing.
I have yet to shoot this gun or purchase a scope for it. Unfortunately right now I am pretty poor, but hopefully in a few months I can get a scope and some more ammo and get this thing sighted in.

This is definitely a good rifle.

Great video. I’m zero my 17 hmr at 50 yards. What if I’m shootings at a 100 yards, would I hit the bullseye?
