I’ve watched this video a handful of times over the last 4 months. I’ve had this rifle for about 5 months. Put a Vortex Crossfire II 2x7 Rimfire scope and a cheaper Caldwell bipod on it. I finally got to shoot it for the first time yesterday. Sighted it in for 50 yards using CCI SV and if I do my job correctly i can fill a 1” square all day long. Shot 100 rounds. Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Next time I want to see what it does at 100 yards. The shooting club I just joined does 100 yard rimfire egg shoots every month that sound really fun. There is a significant bullet drop for all 22 LR at 100 yards even on a calm day with no wind. Haven’t shot for a long time. Just bought this rifle but different model number that doesn’t come with the picatinny rail. Not an issue. Have plenty of magazines from my Ruger 10/22 rifle.
Its top notch, I got it sited in with the AR cci 40 grain 1200 fps and its a tack driver I tried lots of other ammo and it liked this one the best. I did my own mods on the trigger and got it to a 2# pull. When on my annual squirrel hunting contest in middle of February I took my first squirrel on the first shot at 80 yards to the head. I was shooting (5) shot Nickle size groups at 50 yards at the range. I sports a Vortex Crossfire scope also. Thanks for reminding me to send the update.
Recently bought a 10/22 and now I have a Ruger American 30-06 that I have not fired yet and I’m shopping for a Ruger American Rimfire. This is worse than my guitar addiction! Did I mention I bought a Mossberg 500 after the 10/22? Most of slipped my mind. I bought some solid entry level guns and will now add on some higher quality guns as I learn more. This is a lot of fun and I like the aspect of exercising my rights as well as having tools that can feed, protect, and entertain me. Thanks for the videos.
Mcarbo makes a trigger spring that will bring your trigger to about 2-2.5. it tightened up my groups. The spring is a 5 minute change and helps a lot. I put a vortex crossfire on mine. Don't mind the scope haters. I got mine shooting dimes at 75 yards with cci velocitors
I haven’t don’t any upgrades really. I’m fine with the trigger- lots of people have been pointing out issues with my technique that are not just keyboard commandos spouting junk

I also like the Ruger Amer Rf, but prefer the .22 WMR. As for your zhooting, you change shooting position even within a string, consistency is everything. All the best. Dave & The Girls
I know, I need to not take my head off the gun everything. I need a lot of practice- too much time elapses between range trips. I have the .22wmr as well, and both have proven very accurate to me.
I’ve read a bunch of complaints online of people having issues with the feeding on these. I sent mine back like I said in another post. I’m extremely disappointed because I feel like the design could have been better with how it loads. Ruger needs to improve on this faulty design.

@@crankygunreviews yeah, really long range is difficult in the Netherlands, we got 3 sides where you can shoot like 300 m. Our club is getting this year a 200 m range, but that’s about it. So buying a larger caliber rifle doesn’t really make sense, 200 m is perfectly doable with the .22 LR.

After watching further, I think it's just the nature of the video/sound recording that's responsible for the "quietness" of the shots. Not that it's suppressed. All righty then.
So many things you did wrong. Clean the gun 1st before you ever shoot for the 1st time. Break in the barrel. And torque your scope rings to proper inch pounds. Just a few heads up
I have used the Ruger 15 rd mags, two factory 10 round mags coupled together with a mag connector, and I think I have used the tandemkross doublekross which is a housing that takes two internals from standard 10rd Ruger rotary mags. I kept watching the rest creep forward, waiting for it to fall off the table. My compact RAR always seems to get at least one flyer in every 10-shot group. However I have a DA mask in jail so I may order an 8334 to go with it.
@@shockwave6416 It’s too early to tell as I’ve only had it a few weeks so accuracy has not settled in yet. It averages 1.25” groups at 50y with inexpensive ammo, but plenty of variables to tinker with so I’m sure it will get better. We won’t know how it behaves with a suppressor until the stamp arrives. Low mounting a Leupold made the high comb a bit uncomfortable so I will probably order a low module as the 8334 does not include it. I went though the same with my Compact model so I should have expected that. Yes, we are waiting for G5 to restart and still go to conventions. A few weeks ago we briefly met with Vincent Tong, Kelly Sheridan and Nicole Oliver (again). They are really fun people to be around. Some of the new G5 VAs were there too, but we have not met them yet.
It was only one magazine. Not all of them. I have some very old 10/22 mags, and some new ones. I’ve also taken many of these apart so some of them the springs may not be wound up enough. I would not hesitate to buy this gun with these mags. The one mag that was having an issue was also on a mag coupler, which makes it hang down lower, I think that’s why I was having the issue
One bad habit that a lot of bolt shooters do is, raise head from the rifle stock, degrades the accuracy. I am trying to break myself of the habit. Pursue of Accuracy RUclips video.
@@Mr-117 they may have some for it. I kinda like this stock- light and looks cool. Some think they’re cheesy, but it’s not an expensive gun. I’m sure someone makes a stock for it, it I’m ok with the factory one for now
I always wear ear pro. Because I want to have hearing when I’m 70. I took my glasses off cause they fog up when it’s cold out, and you’re not likely to get stuff in your eyes shallow shooting a bolt action.

I had a Simmons on my RAR for a month before replacing it with a Leupold VX-Freedom. The light transmission, clarity, and color of the Leupold leaves the Simmons in the dust.

The soft lead bullets may be deformed during the feeding problems you are having. It will likely affect accuracy

You can do this yourself by snipping a few coils (play with it) off the stock trigger pull adjustment spring. No need to spend money.

My issue was one bad mag, I sold it with a 10/22 and I haven’t had any jamming issues since.
Sweet gun brother. 22 is the way of the future due to price of ammo. Is nice to come back too it🤙🇺🇸
I never moved away from it. I think I like shooting .22 as much as any other caliber.

Really good rifles, you can put ar mags in them and everything I got the ranch in 300 black out and I got a 15 round mag on it and it’s a fun shooter
I wish I waited longer and got the ranch in 5.56, but this one is great and the AR mags acceptance was the main reason I wanted it
if you want a budget scope get a Bushnell and dump the Simmons in the trash

It doesn’t have a muzzle brake either- they make a louder report when firing
Same issue with feeding. Sent it back to ruger hopefully it will run reliably after.
It only does this with one magazine.
Had my wmr compact for 8 months , been out 4 or 5 times at range . Never had feed problems huh ?

What do I need exactly to mount this scope to my Ruger American 22
A set of scope rings. I buy cheap “snipers brand rings off eBay for another it $13 for a pair.
You need to torque those scope rings. Watching you mount that scope was painful.
They’re torqued, about half a wrist turn past not loose at all. It’s a 22 they’ll be fine
