Here is an idea, Tied the ballon to a fish line and then use UV resin to "glue" the end of the fish line to the bottom of the container, and then fill the recipient with the resing, the balloon will float like and underwater mine but will not came all the way to the top since you have the fish line atached to the bottom of the recipient , i have seen you fighthing against a lot of materials that Float, so instead of try to sink them why not avoid floating or limit it :) hope ihis can be usefull for you
I've never tried this, but what if you squeezed an orange peel to get some orange oil, put that in an empty pill capsule, put THAT inside the balloon, and then fill the balloon with water. Epoxy the balloon with a lower heat mix, and then when the capsule dissolves in the water (hopefully after the resin is cured) the orange oil will pop the balloon. I don't know the timing or the amount of oil you'd need to get from the orange. Just something I've heard of, that orange oil pops balloons.
Use a smaller balloon with just a little bit of water and a much smaller resin pour. suspend the balloon from the bottom of the container with the fishing line so it looks like a balloon on a string. maybe even find a small hand from an action figure to be holding the string. just an idea
@@BensWorx can’t wait to see this! I recommend another suggestion I saw here, in concurrence with this one: fill the balloon with resin, and it should equalize pressure and cause it to float in the center without assistance.
@@BensWorx Thanks for doing this! Such an amazing thing to comment on a video and effect the content of an amazing channel!! It came out so good too!!!
That was so cool. I love the look of the void, especially after you filled it with colored resin. Thanks for the extra video. Your tribe can never get tired of you!!
I think something really cool would be if you put something in the water balloon so if the water balloon pops, you'll have floating items in the water that is incases in resin!
Awesome! It’s not so much a failure as a new way to try things. Thanks for the double feature this week and looking forward to what can come up with doing this method.
Is there a reason you don’t put a small base layer, let dry, put balloon in, fill to top of balloon, let dry, then add a top layer if the balloon is poking out?
Hi Ben! I just started this episode. I just have to say that I was going to ask you to try this exact experiment! I cannot believe it! We must be on the same wavelength! So cool, so cool! Now on to the show....
you should try candle wax, a quick search says it will melt around the 50-70c and boil at 370c. And it has a density lighter than water so it would want to make its way up to the top, so i would suggest pouring some resin throwing the wax in, then covering it with more resin
I bet if you cover the balloon in something nonstick before you put it in the resin, you could get the balloon out of the resin and have just an empty void to fill instead of one with balloon bits in it.
you just gave me an idea of doing a hot air balloon scene!!!! thanks for trying various ways to 'play' with resin!!! i have used a few of your 'experiments' with a bit of tweeking here and there with great results!!!
Hi Ben... There's a lot of good suggestions from your subscribers...I think I like the one where the balloon is filled with resin to match the density...it might be a struggle with those tiny balloons..lol...I have ideas..but I'll let you figure that out..👍😄... Have an excellent weekend...🌿🌿🌿
KISS Dynasty - What!? Your awesome taste in wearing apparel (and presumably music!) just earned you a subscriber. Well, really your entertaining channel content that RUclips was kind enough to recommend and I’ve been binging for the last hour or so had already sold me, but the KISS T-shirt sealed the deal. Rock on! 🤘 😂
If you coated the water balloon with some of that UV resin, do you think it would keep the balloon intact and with the water still in it? Realize it would take a lot of time and UV resin, just curious.
That was awesome!!!!!!! Do it again. Cast a small something and stick it on the bottom of the cup. Then glue the tip of the balloon the small casting in the bottom. Pour in the resin. If all goes well it will stand up and you can put it the pressure pot to see what happens!
Oh Ben, i woke this morning to the title of this video and made me lol thinking omg what is prof Ben doing now 😜🤣 but gotta tell ya this was sooooo interesting to watch! The outcome was fantastic, i really really liked it ❣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥇🏆
My first concert was at age 30. It was a KISS concert in Michigan. The sad part was how unenthusiastic the audience was. The band tried sooo hard to get people excited and it made me really respect them. Felt bad that they had such a dull audience.
@@Richard-Freeman Back in 77,78 Kiss and Nazareth were the first rock and roll bands I started to party to. A little smoke, a little booze . Detroit Rock City....Hair Of The Dog. I was 17.
It's pretty cool when you become recognised as one of the great makers on RUclips having people that have watched Nick and ask you to do the same thing
You need some of Nick's 'float to the bottom' magic 😆 How about pouring a few cm of resin in the bottom of the pot, and letting the balloon sit on the top of it with the knot at the bottom so it gets stuck in the resin? Then you could do another pour on top of it and the balloon would hopefully be held in place by the first pour.
If you're up for a retry... (1) pour and set a 4cm deep slab, (2) carve a bowl in the center on the lathe (leaving at least 2cm around the outside, (3) put the balloon in, salted to heavy enough to stay down in the resin (3,1) possibly even use UV-set to secure the balloon's knot down, (4) pour to cover the balloon. PS: I love it when you show what didn't work!
Wow. I feel spoiled, another video this week! Edit: I'd love to see you make a piece from this one... it looks like a moment frozen in time during a balloon bursting or getting shot with a pellet gun!
Thanks for stopping by, If you have time you can check out my new range of Eggs here www.etsy.com/shop/bensworx

Another idea, like how you injected the water but use mercury instead
I've never tried this, but what if you squeezed an orange peel to get some orange oil, put that in an empty pill capsule, put THAT inside the balloon, and then fill the balloon with water. Epoxy the balloon with a lower heat mix, and then when the capsule dissolves in the water (hopefully after the resin is cured) the orange oil will pop the balloon. I don't know the timing or the amount of oil you'd need to get from the orange. Just something I've heard of, that orange oil pops balloons.
I knew the salt would work!
Next time, let the balloon float on the top, and see if it ends up sinking.
Perhaps try putting epoxy resin in the ballons. That could keep the shape and have a similar density so it might stay centered easier!
Exactly what I was thinking.
I vote for sand. 😉
i was thinking the same or maybe put the epoxy resin in the ballon to give it a unique shape on its own
*so he must change the title from water balloon to resin balloon* 🥱
@John Benjamin Tatum but how will the balloon inflate if filled with resin?
Yay!!! No spoilers!! That made it much more fun for me to watch! Thanks!! 💚
I like the result! Looks very very nice!! Love the structures!!
Thanks Mate
I think it came really cool looking! Can’t wait to see what else develops from it. 😃
