Awesome results !but if you dry the orbies nice and slow till the point their almost bone dry they will draw in the resin and become full size and solidly bonded
great lamp look if you plan to make more here's some ideas to make better ones for sale on your etsy 1. have a more slimmer core of reason made of the opeq white color for better defussion of light from top to bottom (this saves on reuse orbez latter on to get out of the resin on outer layer) 2. with a the orbez on the outer layer of maybe 2 to 3 rows around the core of the opeq white core you can try making a diy heater box to try to dry out the orbez faster or a dehydration machines to have them dry faster and less on the far inner part of core of them not coming out 3. color resin layer and most likely last layer is up to your choice cause depending if its a 2 or 3 layer of that obez pattern for the poor any defects/unfilled holes just chuck it on the layth thin the outside just a tad and sand to refit in same container to fill with a clear resin poor for a nice look at end 4 if you do read this and like the improved way of doing it make a video 2.0 update on it to see how it looks
If you do this again, you should use the clear ones. They practically disappear when in liquid. Would save you the trouble of trying to remove them all
Ben, I just found your channel about a month ago, and it has been amazing. I turn pens, and I admire your skills a great deal. That said, I enjoy your videos because you have such a wonderful personality, it’s like hanging out with a friend and watch something amazing come to life. Keep it up, cheers from Florida.
Love the purple side down! If you ever do this again, I think it would be extremely awesome if you shaved it off to look like a mason jar, and drilled a hole half way up in the middle and lit it up from the inside! Great job!
I loved how this came out. Especially with a few of the dried orbeez still trapped. I think these lamps would light up a bit better with a tube style light, instead of the pick just at the bottom. Like a lightsaber type. Maybe put a tube in the center before whatever you make with the resin?
Amazing work, Ben! Only a day or two ago, a huge water tank full of fish inside a hotel broke, here in Germany. Over 1500 fish were in that tank. A few people were hospitalized, but no deaths, as far as I know. Your lamp reminded me of that tank! Almost felt like a small tribute to all the poor fishies. Keep up the amazing work! I can't wait to see more!
amazing video! Just so you know, the chemical they use to make orbeez was invented partially to be a soil additive for droughts, to hold moisture for weeks if it has to and slowly release it. If you were to redo this pulling a vacuum if you can would help dessicate them faster, but you might have to literally leave them a month or two to get them all back to tiny plastic pellets.
Oh wow those light differences make me think of the dawn and the dusk, I think both are lovely soft colors, and Id switch them out depending on the day! The Dawn and Dusk Lamp!
I think what I love most about watching your videos, is watching you explore your inquisitive and creative side. It’s just fun to watch and see what happens along with you man. Cheers!
Yessss Ben 👍 how dam cool did that turn out, and well done for mentioning Nick he is having a yt wobble and needs some extra love 💗 I do love your lights they are all so pretty ❤️ thanks for sharing
Orbeez are great wee things, a life of their own 😂Love the lamp but what a time it must've taken you, Thank you so much. Think I'd have the blue look 👍🐾
Ooof now my skin is crawling all over. I'm sorry Ben, I really tried to give it a fair shot. I'm sure it's absolutely gorgeous if you're not trypophobic. It's in my favourite colours too. I do love that you made it mood-lighting just by turning it over, though.
@@JohnClark-tt2bl To me, it reminded me a lot of the comb from a wasp nest and good GOD that's awful, especially when it's full of larvae that all move in sync. *shudders* But that's the thing about trypo, there are some things almost everyone finds awful, but others that it just depends.
I'm trypophobic as well, and there were moments that nearly got me in this video, but I got through it :) Wonderful work, Ben, and thanks for giving us the heads up that we might get triggered. Very kind!
Ben, I just want to say thank you for putting your respirator on, where we can see you doing it. I personally would love to see you do some content that is more a tutorial of how to work with resin and what that entails. I learned by accident that I should be wearing my respirator regardless that the resin I use is low odor - it's still not good for your lungs!!! I feel there is not enough content out there to education new users of resin to some of these safety fact. Also, how did you learn to use your vacuum pot? I searched for instructional videos and never did find any - I just learned through trial and error....Thanks again for your wonderful content.
This looked so cool! It'd be fun to see a recreated version of when it first went in--maybe with small round beads of resin the same size and color as orbeez that would all light up?
@BenWorx I think something that would really make that pop, if you was to ever do it again, would be to lay the first color layer, let it set, lay a second layer, that will be a mix of the previous color and the next color, let that set, then finally top it off with the next color. In other words, Do red to start, let it set, do a half pour of red, and a half pour of green, let it set, then finish with green, it'll probably be quite interesting, with the Orbeez honeycomb look.
If the first pour around the orbeez was a darker color to leave the voids left for a lighter colored resin, it looks amazing in my head. Thank you!!! I appreciate what you share!
Looks cool with the little orbeez still spotted through. If you did this same thing, but instead of removing the orbeez after they shrink I bet it would be so colourful! They would be less dense then and let light through better
Wow it looks great! I’m so glad you did the orbeez. I was imagining you using them as shrunken hard plastic balls not fully plumped in water. Your idea was way better! I like the light both ways!❤
i really liked this. i feel you should have put this on a fan and left it for awhile. the orbez get even smaller in size then what yours were. they were not dried out yet
I like blue side down. I do however think you should have left more of the orbeez in the resin. There has to be a way to keep them in the resin without them shrinking & falling out. Maybe if your initial mold was a "doughnut" of sorts where you put a cup in the cylinder and filled the area around the cup with orbeez & resin; removed the cup after pressure pot, then put the resin/orbeez in the larger cylinder and surrounded with colored resin. Might be worth a try.
Guess who found the video, lol. Anyway, I love the blue. And I love your videos! But I have to say, your Wasp lamp is my all time favorite! I'm sure there will be more. 🙂
Interesting your experience, I have a suggestion, previously put resin in the container and leave it in the lathe turning so that the resin is uniform covering the entire inner wall of the container until it cures, it is as if you were creating a resin container. Only after that put the bubbles and resin. I believe the result will be more satisfactory
Love both sides! The all blue side would be kind of cool for if someone wants it on at night. Anyway you can just leave it to be reversible? If not, i love the one with the pink/purple on top. 😁
That is a really cool happy little accident! I think it works as a bedside lamp. Have the white on the bottom when you are just relaxing in bed, and then the blue would be a calming night light 👍
“My balls have started to shrink and fall out” is the best line Ben has ever said😂😂😂😂 Edit: “i tried jamming my stick in all the holes but I couldn’t get em out its still a bit wet “ is also a good one.
I loved it Ben good job. I also think it would have been cool if you turned it all the way to where the orbees once was. I think it would have gave it a cool look in between all the different layers but good job either way
Thanks for stopping by, If you have time you can check out my new range of Eggs here www.etsy.com/shop/bensworx
Thats gorgeous,,!
When you get 1 million subscribers will you put your play button in resin?

great lamp look if you plan to make more here's some ideas to make better ones for sale on your etsy
1. have a more slimmer core of reason made of the opeq white color for better defussion of light from top to bottom (this saves on reuse orbez latter on to get out of the resin on outer layer)
2. with a the orbez on the outer layer of maybe 2 to 3 rows around the core of the opeq white core you can try making a diy heater box to try to dry out the orbez faster or a dehydration machines to have them dry faster and less on the far inner part of core of them not coming out
3. color resin layer and most likely last layer is up to your choice cause depending if its a 2 or 3 layer of that obez pattern for the poor any defects/unfilled holes just chuck it on the layth thin the outside just a tad and sand to refit in same container to fill with a clear resin poor for a nice look at end
4 if you do read this and like the improved way of doing it make a video 2.0 update on it to see how it looks
I have a great idea do this again but make a strawberry .This seems to be the perfect texture/look
Imagine if you used clear orbeez. Then use a golden color resin. It would look like honeycomb. You could add decorative bees to it.
If you do this again, you should use the clear ones. They practically disappear when in liquid. Would save you the trouble of trying to remove them all
Or glow in the dark ones!!
That's a good idea
Then they would be just taking up space while looking like nothing is there, what would be the point?
@@Twoeggsq so it doesn't matter if you don't remove them. the point is what you just said.

Well that took longer than I anticipated🤣. I would swear for sure! Such a patient bloke Ben.
I LOVE the "under pressure" pressure pot ❤️

Ben,once again you outdid yourself with another great piece! Thanks for getting me through these past few years
Thanks Kevin, Take Care Mate
I’ve gotten my grandmother suppppper into your videos! We both watch them each week and then call each other the next day to talk about them :)
Thankyou! I hope she feels better soon 😊

Thanks Laura, me too

Amazing how symmetrical the orbees settled in the resin, causing such an evenly spaced spiral..

Thanks for trying, I really appreciate it 😊
Yeah, it got to me too. Trypophobia is just awful, especially when it interferes with a Ben’s Worx video!
You know, this didn't bother me. I think because it doesn't look organic enough. If it had been the inside of a sun flower, forget it...

Absolutely perfectly perfect
The holes are super gross, but the happy music at the end gets me every time. How can you not appreciate what was made when it's presented like that?
Three (3!) pot cams!!! The first Orbeez lightning storm was the best.
Wow that turned out great! Merry Christmas to you and your family ❤️!

What a great project that turned out to be. I prefer the blue side on the bottom.
I actually love the rainbow sprinkle of orbeez left inside. So cool how different it looks upside down!
This reminds me a lot of honey comb, makes me hungry as well as wanting one in an amber color scheme.
Dual sides, I love this. Very beautiful. I like it both ways.
Thankyou

I love the color when you turned it over. Pretty cool project all the way around.
Blue to the top is my preference xxxx

If possible, you should make a whole bunch of little colored resin balls. Then try putting them in a blank to make a lamp. Would be so cool.
