The best Jazzmaster surf tone on RUclips, IMO.
THANKS. My biggest weakness. Amp setting! I have two song challenges for ya. I'll come back. Great video
Great stuff Tom... Thanks for posting... I had a '63...
Excellent Máster Tom, thank you, 👍👍👍👌👌👌🎸🎸🏄🏄
A Great Magician With Awesome Guitar
Wishing you nothing but the best this year, Tom! 🙌
Excellent travail si tout les musiciens étaient comme vous ce serait le pied 😉😉😉
I bought a new Jazzmaster last year after being inspired by your videos. It's the Pro II version, looks same as yours. I got it setup by PLEK system and replaced the bridge and tremolo with a Mastery unit, as the Pro II comes with a really crappy bridge and tremolo 'Panorama' system. It's well documented on RUclips. It's now a fantastic to play and sound Jazzmaster, and I love it.
Oh, by the way, Thanks for your interesting settings video here.
Cheers John
Awesome, Tom. This is perfect for setting up my new JM that I got to follow along with your great tutorials!
I used to play Gretsch but after years of watching your content I bought a jazzmaster and haven’t looked back
Thanks man
I love my jazzmaster
Never would have given them a chance if it wasn’t for you
Some time ago, I was looking for the same guitar as Tom's but could not find one so ended up biting the bullet on price and bought an AmPro II Jazzmaster and love it. Took it over to play with a friend who had a Gretsch Chet Atkins which I had played before and loved it. We switched guitars and after a rather long session playing our favorite songs, he would not give it back to me as it was just so much more comfortable compared it his Gretsch.
@@sgd5k292 they really have that high fidelity full frequency sound
Reminds me of a better dynasonic
Punchy, clear bell like
Great to see this, Tom! Looking forward to hearing the EP!
A Tonemaster!?? Woah. Sounds amazing. I have a hard time with the price of that amp, but you have it dialed in so well!
Thank you for your songs and insights of your recordings. You made me buy a vintera JM and I love it. So thanks again!
Thank you for a peek at your set up! I play around with building virtual rigs on AmpliTube and I’ll see if I can duplicate your surf set up there.
Thanks for showing! Always informative to see people's amp settings and how they record. Surprised the treble was so low but I guess Fender amps like that are very bright anyway, as it didn't even have a mid channel.
There's just something about surf music. Very melodic and cool and makes you think of summer. Never really goes out of style but I wish the radio would play some of the newer stuff coming out once in awhile.
Thank you for the music and excellent guitar tabs...
Keep up the good work! 👍🏻
What a fantastic video have a good weekend ❤😊
Great info, thanks Tom! and Congrats on the EP!
Love your videos, Tom! I too love surf and Jazzmasters. I plug mine into a Fender Steel King, originally intended for pedal steel guitars. The result is a super clean sound with excellent reverb. If I want effects I add a pedal board to the chain.
только поздравления с новой гитарой ! ))
great stuff Tom :))
Thanks for sharing. It’s insightful.
You have been a real inspiration Tom. Thankyou.
Me ha encantado tu información, también aprendo de ella
Interesting video Tom, always wondered what your set up was, sounds great as ever! All the best with the new EP!
great! and for The Ventures settings? I really love your sound!
Thanks so much for this video, Tom, I was very interested in how you set up that authentic sound. Also, you made a great tutorial for playing California Sun by the Rivieras before showing the basic notes. Then i saw you do a recording years ago where the picking was more intricate, just like the original version. I'm hoping you can do a video tutorial for that one, it really was fantastic. Take care and thanks again.
Thanks to let us know how to set up the Jazzmaster for the sur tone and where I can get the EP .
In the link in the description. Thank you!!
👍🙏😊Cheers.
Genial
Very cool. I want a Jazzmaster (after watching your vids) but I have 15 guitars, including a Strat and a Tele. My wife is not amenable to 16. I get by with my Strat going into a Surfybear Metal, into TONEX, with some slapback delay. Your tones are great! Especially doing that with Logic's stock plugins, which I found not terribly impressive. Cheers.
I own and played a 2007 Strat VG. Loved it until I got an AmPro II Jazzmaster. I do play it once in a while just to see if my love affair with the JM was still there...but no.... I just can't seem to like the Strat as much anymore!
Tooom, can you play the sandals - endless summer??
Bro you have one more Jazzmaster right!!! The blue one!!?? :D
Tom. Thanks for this and all the other videos! l have been agonizing over getting the Tone master deluxe. Do you play live with it?
I have played live with it yes, and it’s great
Excellent song that I have added to my list. Tom, what happened to your other Jazzmaster and why did you switch back? Just curious. Thx!
I sold it, just couldn’t connect with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Not a fan of the pau ferro board
He's so Handsome that i Thought
Very informative! I notice you use the neck pickup, yet get some good treble. I had wondered if you were playing flatwounds, but I see you are not. I am also doing surf music videos, and my setup is not as modern as yours, yet your sound made me think you were using older technology, which is what I assume you wanted to do. You are doing great work and getting a great sound, Tom. Thank you for this video!
Thank you so much! Yeah, I mostly use the neck and sometimes middle position.
I will check out your videos!
Great work Tom! Have you ever considered trying flatwounds on your Jazzmaster?
I haven’t considered them, no. Very comfortable with these
Like deployed 👍
😎🎙🎸✅️
❤❤❤🎉🎉😂
Hey Tom. Playing any shows in the RI area soon?
Unfortunately no ☹️
I thought you would have been using some other type of reverb then just the Deluxe Amp. 🤔
Why? Like what?
@@tomcon21 i play mostly surf and it seems a lot of purists have either a 6G15 reverb tank, or a surfybear for the drip. I noticed your treble doesnt get too ice-picky (which is nice), but i thought you would probably be running something more along those lines.
@@mikejazz3349 I’m sure I’d use and enjoy gear like that if I had it; I probably don’t think enough about it. I do enjoy the results I get get with the amp reverb and the Dan Echo.
I should also say that I do add some plug in reverb in the mix in some of my videos. But not in this video. But that’s more to glue some of the elements together in the mix and not as an effect on the lead
Also, I guess I’m not a purist.
@@tomcon21i can never understand people who try to be purists on gear. First, most of the gear thats so valued to them is now vintage and so expensive that its not realistic to obtain. Second, i always try to create my own sound. If i cover a song i want it to have the same vibe, but not create an exact replica. If thats the case, just listen to the original. I appreciate your approach to your recordings. Its definately got the same feel, but its in your musical voice. 👍
