I think they should make a new game, player pass the city to next player every 1 year what ever they did. Do not use unlimited money.

I totally agree with you and one can only hope there will be one in Cities Skylines 2. For now however, you can check out Cities Skylines Multiplayer Mod [CSM] on Steam Workshop :) It has some issues, but otherwise work remarkably well

Yes. But I doubt paradox cares enough.
Was thinking about that, having "outside connexions" lead to other cities would be nice...
Especially if you have yearly report of you vs the other player cities. Also trading between each other (I usually go WAY overboard with lumber production but always need goods).
Add in the option to follow a train/plane/boat/car to other cities and once there, free cam around to check their map (with a "return to XXXXXXX" button for when you wanna get back home).
Another option would be a 81 tiles map, each player get a maximum of "81/number_of_players". So we all play in the same map. A bit more chaotic, especially for ppl that can't be bothered to fix their trafic and bring the whole "region" down, haha !
To be fair, Biffa's section being nothing but road connections is on-brand.
And given his rather central location it's important to maintain a healthy traffic flow.

To be fair, his area directly connects three of the other four, so on that basis you need to set up good transport infrastructure.

@Biffa ... just a little reminder: CityPlanner hoped for you not only to join the roads, but electricity lines too, as CityPlanners part is cut off from the Nuclear power plant Czardus built in his part of the city ;).

Great video! Those are definitely changes I would look at making in my area as traffic develops. As mentioned, my focus on a realistic layout that develops over time doesn't fit well with despawning off due to the game's limitations but it's always fun to see how it turns out with despawning off. :-)
This is such a fun series to make; I'm glad so many people have been enjoying it!

How about moving the industry access up the road a bit and using a roundabout to disperse the traffic while opening another route for expansion? I do think Biffa threw in the towel too early though, using synced traffic lights for the four way junction as the motorway access could probably have fixed it.
@@AdamKafei I’m planning on getting rid of that industry actually. I put it there temporarily to satisfy demand but I’m hoping some of the others get some jobs for the residents!

I'd love to see this roundabout on the workshop. Honestly it would be even better for a small pack of otherwise default highway infrastructure pieces that have been prettied up and had lanes fixed like this.

Nice roundabout! I am following this series, just a pointer on City Planner's electricity poles: they are meant to link up to the first one's nuclear power plant, so it might be an idea to link up power in between.
Biffa, don't forget to hook both cities with a power line together. If not, city planner will do even more coal power plants ;-)
Don't forget to connect to the power and water of both other builders before you :)
Funnily enough at least in Germany they actually block the view into some crossings and t-sections to slow down traffic and force the traffic to stop. This way traffic moves slower and everybody is more careful. It is done most often to increase security or decrease accidents in a crossing or on onramps without seperate onramp lanes.
So Biffa, I want to know if hooking up your new interchange to Czardus' area helped ease the traffic on the main highway, and at Czardus' highway connection that you attempted to fix at the beginning. Please tell us. My giddy aunt wants to know.
I would think that it would help. Before the cloverleaf interchange was added there was only one way in. Now there’s two and a better access to residential and commercial
It helps. I just made another interchange in my city and its immediately changed traffic. It splits it and make it flow so much better.
For your 3 into two malarkey at about 13 minutes, have a 1 lane road coming off and down into your town to provide an extra connection (admittedly it'll only be a one way junction)

Your addition will help Czardus' traffic a lot now that there's more than one way to enter his town.
I really wanted to see what the traffic was like without despawning now that Biffa has connected up everything and given better options for getting around. I love how Biffas episodes doesn’t actually do anything except a road.
Does adding another connection to Czardus area improve the traffic when despawning is switched off?

That was my first thought too. Czardus pretty much had that single entrance to his city, and now that Biffa bridged it from the other side, my guess is that it would improve it by quite a lot. This is a very neat collab from you guys, looking forward for the 3rd or 4th interaction of each of you to find out how this lovely city will turn into.

Me: Builds ugly looking junctions and calls it job well done

Me: Realising just how long it takes to make nice junctions and keeps making ugly ones.
So true
I consider the actual structure and the detailing to be separate things, I can spend hours on the actual roads, creating an interesting and well working layout, fitting it nicely into the existing landscape, doing some terraforming, fiddling with elevation and creating smooth turns...
But apart from sometimes placing some trees I cba to do any purely aesthetical detailing. That stuff is just soo easy to break or completely annihilate with even slight changes to the actual roads.
Don't be dishartened, you can achieve a decent looking junction if you spend just a small bit of time making sure the roads are parrallel or smoothly curving then whilst you won't win any awards, it at least won't be ugly. 90% of the ugliness in DIY junctions is because they're wonky.
Also Node Controller and Intersection Marking are godly mods. Little effort the first time and you can blitz through an intersection with good markings.
@@p75369 MoveIt! is awesome to create smooth curves, even from a wonky design. I'd also recommend Precision Engineering (2.0) and Fine Road Tool (2.0.4) for the building process.

The "Biffa about" was a joy to watch you build. The fence /gravel look is spot on.
I love how much consideration you put in to your city for example not putting trees so they can see oncoming traffic other people wouldn't even think about that.

That's the best looking cloverleaf junction there ever was! Really like the zoo fencing actually!
Biffa worries about trees blocking the view of merging cars on their interchange, but puts tall, solid fences, up so drivers can't see merging traffic anyways.

I paused just as you were about to say what you're planning on doing and I was thinking: He should do all the industries, get them all 5 stars and your area could supply factories built around the different parts.
I'm looking forward to episode 2, and CityPlanner did 2 episodes so I think you're good to go. Don't forget to join everyone's electrical systems up for the city. CityPlannerPlays and Czardus don't have a connection for electricity either! You could have a factory or industrial area with some green energy in addition to the logging area and residential?

Biffa, that wishbone intersection on the highway going into "Herkimer"(seen around 12:00) could have it's extra lanes being an exit and on ramp for your side of that canal, ill bet it would look great!
you could also have a pair of one way bridges linking with that road that goes around the arch at that same timestamp, unless you feel like it's tampering with "Herkimer"

The move-it icon was hiding behind a little youtube overlay icon and it triggered a bit of momentary inner panic. We're so spoiled with some of these amazing, gamechanging mods. I cant imagine not having some of them anymore.
Details, details. Just a suggestion for detailing: Where I live, inside the circular areas of the cloverleaf junctions, they usually have drainage, so they're filled with water and ducks. Not a great or safe place for water if you slide off the junction during winter (they're surprisingly deep), but they're nice to look at during the summer. Just an idea, though.
Thought the lack of preset interchanges would've been a good opportunity to create one. That cloverleaf is absolutely gastly, though with the detailing you have definitely made that turd shine.

An idea for another series like this one is each of you pick a certain aspect of a city to control. Like Biffa does road building, another does parks/entertainment, one does light industry, one does heavy industry, one can maybe do government/city services, etc. Maybe you guys could use the resulting map of this series to get it started off.
As an actual civil engineer, the chevrons the wrong way and the trees/full height barriers in the lines of visibility make me cry :D
+1 Easy way to remember is the point of the chevrons always faces oncoming traffic.
To the tune of the Hokey Pokey:
You put the right lane in
You put the left lane out
You put traffic lights in,
And there’s gridlock all through town!
You do the Horky Borky and then switch to roundabouts
That’s what it’s all about!
Rather than looks or traffic flow I find the biggest advantage of homemade interchanges is that you can fit them into existing terrain or highway curves, which you can see in this video. Sometimes squaring up the highway to a prefab interchange is actually a bigger challenge. I found the exercise a bit intimidating at first and other people seem to also given the number of people who say they don't want to do it. My suggestion is to look up just one and make that one the interchange you use for everything or at least everything of a certain type, e.g. always use homemade trumpets for highway T junctions). Then when you get confident or bored, figure out how to build a second one. After some time you'll just figure out how to customize the interchanges and to not always build them at perfect right angles and exactly X numbers of units.

I love this series. You have to deal with the decisions of others and have to find workarounds, hoping noone is working in a different direction than you.
A suggestion I would like to make / ask from all of the collaborators...
I'm loving this series, so I would like to suggest that it would continue, one week each, in sequence...
So, Czardus started it, then City Planner continued, then Biffa (who I would like to see more building), then ImperialJedi, and now, Timeister...
Please keep the series in sequence for a few more weeks. I REALLY would like to see you guys building a huge city this way. I think it would look great, given the idea of all being excellent players.
Also, there is another player whom I think could add something to this, making it 6B1C... That would be Overcharged Egg.

Hi Biffa! I think this will be a fun and interesting series. Infinite money to let the creative ideas go wild. I would like to see you guys take on the challenge of playing without infinite money in the future and see how much crazy/cool you can get on a budget. Maybe start a map with a battery to increase starting funds a bit then bulldoze it all to start clean.

The Timeister is awesome at details and doing realistic cities. He plops everything so it will be interesting how he does this map.

Biffa when he is limited in what he can do: "I spent 25 minutes making an intersection ☺️👉👈"
It looks very nice though, hopefully some extra routes available solve the earlier traffic problems! Loved the video!
One issue with the timed traffic light is you had a separate step for traffic coming in the opposite direction where vehicles are very light. You could a) reduce that step drastically, and allow the incoming direction being stopped and allow turning only, and the first step allowing bi-directional traffic. Then the step for allowing turning can be very, very short.

Id love to see you guys take, more challenged based stuff as well, like having the natural disasters on etc! Or even more PVP style, when you purposely try and cause issues for the other cities. Content is always best when its with the wider community imo, just ask the football manager guys 👍

I love the Intersection Marking Tool. I had no idea about presets though. Did you know you can just copy and paste a set of markings from one junction to another instead of using the preset? Also, if your chevrons are pointing the wrong way, just hit the inverse button. You can also set a key preset in Options to make the filler a chevron rather than a diagonal. I've started wondering if I play just so I can make nice markings on my junctions...
It looks like you can flip the presets on the marking tool so you can apply one to all of the junctions (although you'd need to reverse the chevrons on the merge junctions afterwards).
The Hatching markings (the chevron *and* the stripes in the middle of the road) actually form an imaginary arrow pointing in the direction of traffic if you were to extend them into the lane which is why they seem like they're pointing the wrong way. No idea _why_ they designed it that way though.
If the map comes back around to you you have that convenient rail line for your industries to use. Perfect spot.

Hi biffa! With the chevrons in the intersection marking tool: select Starting from edge instead of vertex. Then it should work too.
I like doing weird challenges like I’ve made a series where there are no cars. People can only travel by train, subway, ferries, busses and taxis. Made everything kinda compact so they could walk. It was actually pretty dope to see it all come together. If I knew a damn thing about RUclips I’d love to start a channel and upload these weird challenges but I suck at the internet life
