your lips look amazing. your darker hair in comparison to before looks much more striking too. I wish my lip filler would last longer but the last 3 times I had them done they only lasted like 6 weeks. I don't understand why they deflate so quickly on me and definitely cannot afford to pay that costly fee for something that doesn't last more than 6 months!
This was surprisingly informative! I've seen so many lip filler videos I thought I could not stand anymore. However I thought it was so important you shared that filler does not 100% go away! Thanks Susan :)
I can’t stop staring at your lips in this video! That color is perfect on you and they look so beautiful and natural. I’ve been wanting fillers for a while and this video was so helpful to me and yours make me less scared!
My injector told me that it can stimulate collagen production and I can definitely tell on my lips. It’s been 1 1/2 since I’ve gotten mine done and they’re still so full but look so natural. Yes, it’s painful.
“I’d be picked on for having big lips” “ now they wanna look like us” sorry about that but we would also get picked on for not having the most luscious lips. So yes, both worlds didn’t get the best attention. And it’s not an “all of a sudden” thing. I’m sure everyone always wanted kissable lips... at least I did at the age of 6!!!! And I’m 23. So I think at the end of the day, everyone has their own reason.. don’t nit pick
THANK YOU SUSAN FOR ALL THE HELPFUL, NECESSARY ADVICE. I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT IT FOR AWHILE BUT I AM SO GLAD YOU EXPLAINED THE PROCEDURE SO WELL!! 😊💕💕

She did ok and I’m grateful I opted for the Volbella (the one that looks most natural) and now that I have done better research, I found a cosmetic surgeon that specializes in facial surgery so I plan on seeing him come this summer. Soooo true on why you said about choosing the right person with the style that you’re going for because each injector will not be the same as the other. Learned that the hard way. An expensive one.
Interesting video! I was numbed with numbing cream the first couple times I had mine done, but the lady didn’t do that good of a job on my lips so I went to someone else. My new lady is AMAZING, but doesn’t numb me whatsoever, at all, and it isn’t all that bad. It does hurt, but it’s nothing that isn’t tolerable. She does the same technique where she will puncture the corner of my lips first then go in with the blunt needle. Then for the Cupid’s bow there will just be two extra pokes, making four injection sites total, also using the layering process you mentioned. And they are so beautiful! I really couldn’t be happier with her and my results. As far as chapped lips go, mine were always chapped before filler, and I mean really bad. I would get cracks and bleed, it was ugly. But since filler I haven’t had chapped lips at all, they are always perfectly hydrated now! It’s completely worth it in my opinion! 👄💞
Yall look so insecure trying to humble brag about having full lips. Its like when white or latino girls make slick comments about how easy it is to care for their hair in the comment section of a viral 4C natural hair video.

If I was without children though, I think I would consider it but I’m a wuss and can’t even stand eyelash extensions so I don’t think I could go through the pain!
It’s different, on a case by case basis. I’m non-binary trans, was assigned female at birth. I just got top surgery, which is basically a double mastectomy. I needed that for my mental health. If someone told me I just “needed to love myself as I am” it would be clear to me right away that they have no idea what gender dysphoria is, or what it’s like to suffer because of it. There’s nothing wrong with adults choosing to change their bodies, if that’s going to make them happier, but I’m sure there are lots of cisgender people out there who over-do cosmetic surgeries and procedures
The whole “self-love movement” is mostly good, but we as trans people have been hurt in the process, with awful “advice” from clueless, usually well-meaning people. Cisgender people usually don’t know what dysphoria is, or what it’s like to be in a body that doesn’t look at all the way you imagine it to be, in your mind. You look beautiful and your lips look great. I have had my lips done twice and I can say it really hurts bad. Both times I went to professional Doctors. I didn't get numbed and it truly is a good idea too. you are correct about having a little product left behind, my lip is lower on one side now, because I haven't had it done for three years.

Ooh I really appreciate this informative video. Very educational. Your lips look great. I’ve been seeing so many bad lip jobs lately so thanks for posting!!! Appreciated
Wow it's expensive to get it done there! Here in Ireland it costs maybe €150 for 0.5ml and €250 for 1ml. My experience was very similar to Susan's, my aesthetician uses restylane which is a hyaluronic acid, the first time doesn't last long, second time was much more noticeable! I bruised a little bit too and they do take a while to fade so no ibuprofen or blood thinning products before getting them done! Also I wish someone told me beforehand that you can't eat or drink for 4 hours afterwards as the injection sites are basically open wounds, though tiny, so eat before! If you're due on your period it might hurt more so try to go in the middle of your cycle! You will probably have to go back after 2 weeks for a touch up (my aesthetician keeps a tiny bit of filler so that after 2 weeks when the swelling goes down she can see where might need touching up). You have to massage your lips to make sure the filler doesn't set in a lump in your lip and your lips will feel stiff and tender for maybe 24 hours or so after. These are things I've learned and wish I knew before I got them done but it is all worth for the confidence boost 👌😂
Suzanne Kirwan Interesting! I couldn’t eat because I was so numb, but not because there are open wounds. Also, Dr. Dhir and other injectors don’t always want you to massage your lips. It depends how they do them. 👍
Do you think lip injections and botox are sort of a "gateway" to just getting more and more plastic surgery? I don't know anyone who gets things like this done where I live but I can see how in CA it is a different world.
I couldn’t stop staring at your lips... I’m not sure if you over lined your lips with the lip gloss... but that’s what it looks like to me. But that doesn’t matter. Whatever floats your boat... your still beautiful before and after any procedure you’ve done.
I stopped in the middle of the video to google that Hollywood filler party dr and somehow ended up looking at carrot top before and afters and then ended up watching the Larry euphoria scene lmao now I’m back
I like your video! It helps a lot of girls who are thinking about getting their lips done. You had a good point that it's all about the shape and it looks better if you don't put filler into outer corners of your lips. I am thinking about filling my lips and I am happy I could see this video. Thank you!

The Age of Fabulous Like she said, look on Yelp and Instagram for their work. Look for a cosmetic surgeon that is comfortable with doing lip injections
Find a dermatologist in your area. There are directories you can search. I go to a good one in Chicago for injections and general skin care. If you live in a bigger city, a dermatologist rather than a plastic surgeon is your best bet. Avoid medspa’s, esthetician’s or any non-board certified doctors for anything being injected into your skin.
What the lump on your left side of your lip? On the video? Definitely didn’t need too much in the Cupid’s at the top too much for me got that duck look should of spread it out
Hi! Thanks for sharing your story and teaching us about fillers. I am not ready to do this type of work but I deeply appreciate learning about it. I think there is a dearth of responsible beauty reporting and your videos change that.
Respectfully, I remember clicking on one of your video's after about a year of not seeing you and your lips were the first thing I noticed. I think with your fine facial features less is more, they aren't crazy by any means but maybe just a wee bit less. You're still fab though and if they make you feel good that's all that matters.
Susan, this is such an informative video especially during this time! I naturally have full and quite nicely shaped lips, do you have any recommendations regarding keeping collagen and volume in the lips as you age? Love all your videos, you really motivate me in being vigilant with my skin care! Xx
This was a great video and yes, I like how honest it was. I wish I had seen this before I had my lips done. I don’t regret it but, Yep, needles in and around the lips, hurt. They swell up, I bruised, and, it was a while before the swelling went down.
Don’t get me wrong your lips look great now but you looked so beautiful before too! I see what you are saying but I thought it looked more youthful before. Just a softer look. Maybe it’s more sexy now. Both look looked on you though for real, you are beautiful! We are all so hard on ourselves!
just got my lips done and it’s incredible. i have lips now 😆 only had numbing cream but i had it on for 40 minutes plus the filler has lidocaine- you’re pretty darn numb
I think the reason so many people prefer your before lips is because your whole face and body type consists of angular sharp features so your real lips suit better the overall beauty of yours. The new lips are very soft that’s why stand out a lot. Having said that I am crazy about luscious and full lips! But they wouldn’t really suit my overall face shape and body type. Also check out how many supermodels actually have thin and sharp lips - makes them look stronger and with more personality. Embrace and enhance what you already have women! (A note to myself as well). How would the world look if everyone had the same lips boobs asses...that’s crazy.
I had mine done first time a few days ago, they used numbing cream but the pain was awful, like bee stings repeatedly and I passed out 5 minutes afterwards. They had 1000s of good reviews and pictures so is it just my pain threshold?
I just want a tinyyyy amount of filler. I have really full lips (I actually got made fun of before big lips became “trendy.”) But I just want to fill in the natural wrinkles a little bit and methodically place the filler to give me a more heart shape as opposed to my natural round shape.
Definitely stop taking fish oil a couple weeks before you get filler. I got my lips done one week after stopping and was so swollen and bruised. It was my 5th time getting them done and it felt a million times worse than the first. Also, I've had the threading technique and the micro droplets and the threading is by far less painful.
I love your smile (before and now)! Is there anyway you can talk about how you get your teeth so white?? Do you have them professionally whitened or is it something you do yourself? Sorry if you’ve already done a video on it...I’m new here!! ❤️
Her new lip... ..its not as exaggerated as most.. still exaggerated.. looks stupid especially w ..all that shine.. ..the shine ansd lip color make lip bigger. Hers look stupid
Hi Susan 🥰 Your video was so helpful. Thank you! I do have one question: how long did you wait to get another round after your first set of lip injections?
While I think your lips look really good, I think they looked fine on the before photos. Just watching the procedure made me never want to do this. I’ve done Botox so I’m not someone who disagrees with injections and fillers. This just isn’t my cup of tea.
Well you looked beautiful both ways but if they make you feel better then go for it. I’ll be hitting 30 soon and if I ever feel not as good about my lips I wouldn’t be against getting it done. I enjoy your videos a lot, the info is great and would love your opinion of the Drunk Elephant vegan retinol. Also normally any heavier type of cream breaks me out, the DE retinol is a heavier cream and I’m wondering if that will impede it helping my breakouts? Should I change to a serum/oil? Thanks so much! 🥰
I just got some lip filler Juvederm XC in Orlando, Florida. One syringe for 600 dollars and I have two bumps on the upper lip on each side. It is day seven now and they are still there. Should I go back to Renee and ask her to see if she can fix it?
You mentioned Beverly Hills, which I would imagine would have much higher prices than other places. I'm wondering how much this could potentially reasonably cost elsewhere for a good doctor?
I had it done once. Numbing cream. Hurt like hell. No cannula either. I mean I’d try it again if it lasted a couple years with the HA. It’s just not cost effective for me which sucks. Lol
You are stunning .. before or after .. do what makes you happy my friend.. you got a new subbie.. ty for sharing .. & looking forward to seeing all ur videos 😊
Every time I get lip injections its without any numbing creme since it does take away some of the hyaluronic acid + it makes your lips look uneven. Its painful but who wants to be beautiful needs to go through it theres way worse
I had naturally big lips and got fillers today to help shape my lips a bit, where I'm from we dont get numbing injections, nowhere does them but even with the numbing cream I would rate the pain equally to getting a piercing, it's going to hurt but it's over in a couple of minutes and after it will feel like a bee sting for about half an hour. And if you usually bruise getting injections or giving a blood sample, (like me) you will more than likely bruise, I only have 1 bruise where it was put in my cupids bow but I'm a bleeder and a bruiser so I was expecting it
Susan I would love to know how you feel about the hyaluronic injection without needle, the hyaluropen, I‘m considering it but I‘m scared that it will be uneven...
I got it done too, it’s VERY subtle, and only lasted about 3 months. When I did it, she did one treatment- then I came back a few days later for another. It hurts like a rubber band snapping your lip.
I hate my upper lip too! Especially on the sides, as I feel the middle is much fuller while the sides are non-existent, and my bottom lip is plump, but I’m only 23 and just graduated college so not really time yet

@@SusanYara hi can you please tell us what filler your Dr put for that natural shape and fullness, volbella? Or other? What's the best? Thanks
Suzanne Kirwan Your lips look great! Can I ask where you got them done? I’m Irish too 🇮🇪
Do you think lip injections and botox are sort of a "gateway" to just getting more and more plastic surgery? I don't know anyone who gets things like this done where I live but I can see how in CA it is a different world.
I couldn’t stop staring at your lips... I’m not sure if you over lined your lips with the lip gloss... but that’s what it looks like to me. But that doesn’t matter. Whatever floats your boat... your still beautiful before and after any procedure you’ve done.
Plumping your lips took years off you. Wow!
I stopped in the middle of the video to google that Hollywood filler party dr and somehow ended up looking at carrot top before and afters and then ended up watching the Larry euphoria scene lmao now I’m back
that's a fuckin trip lmao
I like your video! It helps a lot of girls who are thinking about getting their lips done. You had a good point that it's all about the shape and it looks better if you don't put filler into outer corners of your lips. I am thinking about filling my lips and I am happy I could see this video. Thank you!
But ur lips from the side dont look natural. I always wondered why ur lips stick out, this explains it
Hi Susan and Sharzad! I know this has nothing to do with this video but could possibly talk about skincare for sensitive skin but also wants anti aging? Love you both! ❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Laura Ulisse I’m going to makeover Sharzad’s skincare routine soon. She has sensitive skin so you’ll prob get great info from it.
Looking forward to it! ❤️
@@SusanYara count me in on that! I look forward for this routine sensitive skin, coz I literally burnt my skin after I tried some Retinol and Vit. C serum products looking at your passion for them :( I was also using another salicylic acid product for my hormonal acne and when I went to the doc for getting treated, she told I could have got into this bad situation because I am sensitive to retinol & salicylic acid and shouldnt be using them.. Its been abt 10 days now and I feel a little recovered so now I am on the look out for what to use that is safe for me in this recovery period but at the same time improve health of my skin.. Really need your suggestions🙏🏻 love your videos! great work and I really love your honesty ❤️🙏🏻
I would love to see an episode on someone getting a lip lift.
I remember when I first started watching her, I never knew she had fillers. They look pretty natural I just assumed she overlined.
My biggest question is how do I pick a doctor? I want to make sure I get a doctor that’s going to give me the appearance that I want.
The Age of Fabulous Like she said, look on Yelp and Instagram for their work. Look for a cosmetic surgeon that is comfortable with doing lip injections
RealSelf has good reviews and before/after photos of many doctors.
Find a dermatologist in your area. There are directories you can search. I go to a good one in Chicago for injections and general skin care. If you live in a bigger city, a dermatologist rather than a plastic surgeon is your best bet. Avoid medspa’s, esthetician’s or any non-board certified doctors for anything being injected into your skin.
look at their work , real picture not stolen and reviews from clients
MAKE SURE YOU SEE HIS/HER QUALIFICATIONS !!!!!! EVEN IF THEY ARE A PLASTIC SURGEON!! DONT BE TRUSTING UNTIL THEY PROVE TO YOU THEY HAVE EXPERIENCE!!!!
What the lump on your left side of your lip? On the video? Definitely didn’t need too much in the Cupid’s at the top too much for me got that duck look should of spread it out
Your lips look so natural and so great! Your doctor is amazing 💋
You were so thorough and felt honest. Very informative.
I've heard that the bigger your eyes, the bigger your lips can be and still harmonize with your face
Susan, this is such an informative video especially during this time! I naturally have full and quite nicely shaped lips, do you have any recommendations regarding keeping collagen and volume in the lips as you age? Love all your videos, you really motivate me in being vigilant with my skin care! Xx
The overdrawn lipstick is driving me crazy... :D it's too much and too obvious...
Yeah her natutal lips fitted her facetype more
In my opinion I think her face looks way better now with lip fillers! Way prettier and less plain.
just got my lips done and it’s incredible. i have lips now 😆 only had numbing cream but i had it on for 40 minutes plus the filler has lidocaine- you’re pretty darn numb
"How would the world look if everyone had the same lips boobs asses.." right. And non moving eyebrows
I had mine done first time a few days ago, they used numbing cream but the pain was awful, like bee stings repeatedly and I passed out 5 minutes afterwards. They had 1000s of good reviews and pictures so is it just my pain threshold?
This was so helpful and loved how honest you were!!💕 Can you do a video like this on Botox??
I just want a tinyyyy amount of filler. I have really full lips (I actually got made fun of before big lips became “trendy.”) But I just want to fill in the natural wrinkles a little bit and methodically place the filler to give me a more heart shape as opposed to my natural round shape.
Have you got them done? 😁 i want the same thing
Very well and professionally done. Just perfect.
Susan dont get me wrong your lips look great but i prefer your older pics! Its more natural
I love this video. Super helpful. I do have a question though. What’s the difference with a meds spa?
I have to say that Your lips are GOALS. I adore the shape of your lips. Im going to reference your lips for my first time.
Super informative! Loved this vid! I wanna send it to a bunch of youtubers lol
I just got some lip filler Juvederm XC in Orlando, Florida. One syringe for 600 dollars and I have two bumps on the upper lip on each side. It is day seven now and they are still there. Should I go back to Renee and ask her to see if she can fix it?
I absolutely love the way you speak!! 😍
. I don’t like when youtubers do that slip smack noise or say ummmmm. I can watch you all day. Not creepy tho.
You mentioned Beverly Hills, which I would imagine would have much higher prices than other places. I'm wondering how much this could potentially reasonably cost elsewhere for a good doctor?
I pay $550 a syringe for Juvederm Ultra Plus
Kylie jenners doctor charges $4000
Thank you so much. This was very helpful.😊
You look like Megan Fox's older sister
Raaid Cotman-El agree haha i see this
Older *asian* half sister
You look so good with them omg
I love your lips, Susan. I love Dr. Dhir (I follow him on Instagram) and I cant wait for another episode of Plastic!!
Did you always have that bump on your upper left lip or did the injections cause that???
Your lips look so good and I’m definitely going to see your doctor!
I had it done once. Numbing cream. Hurt like hell. No cannula either. I mean I’d try it again if it lasted a couple years with the HA. It’s just not cost effective for me which sucks. Lol
Cinderfire Dental block is a game-changer. Still not the best feeling but much more tolerable.
You are stunning .. before or after .. do what makes you happy my friend.. you got a new subbie.. ty for sharing .. & looking forward to seeing all ur videos 😊
Great honesty, thanks for sharing all these experiences
Any recommendations for a clinic in berlin? I wanna get my lips done but i din't know how to decide who is right for me...
I like 1/3 , 2/3 upper/lower, more balanced. Yours is reversed but thanks for your opinion
Is there anyone you or Dr. Dhir would recommend on the east coast/NYC/NJ area? Preferably someone who uses the same technique as he does?
how did your lips change your life? i think there’s more to life than looks..
Maybe self confidence ? Idk it’s different for other people , most people get stuff done to feel happy about themselves
Julia Popa i understand that! i got my lips done the other day but change LIFE is crazy
does anyone know which "plastic surgery" - which put silicone in people’s lips - she was talking about
Great video! Things I didn’t think about. I’m going tomorrow & a little worried 1/2 a syringe is $250... but I’m in Tennessee
Never thought about lip injections. But you have sparked my interest.
"You don't wanna mess up your face."
...but my face has always been messed up. HELP. D:
But what’s the effect of having scar tissue overtime?
Every time I get lip injections its without any numbing creme since it does take away some of the hyaluronic acid + it makes your lips look uneven. Its painful but who wants to be beautiful needs to go through it theres way worse
Your upper lip shouldn't be bigger than your bottom lip they look all right but not very natural as the upper lip is bigger
Her before pic is my favorite. She was fine. Looked more natural. These folks are never satisfied.
Her before picture was more plain and she looks way prettier now I don’t understand
my lips are lit £110 to £180 and she does an amazing job every time
I had naturally big lips and got fillers today to help shape my lips a bit, where I'm from we dont get numbing injections, nowhere does them but even with the numbing cream I would rate the pain equally to getting a piercing, it's going to hurt but it's over in a couple of minutes and after it will feel like a bee sting for about half an hour. And if you usually bruise getting injections or giving a blood sample, (like me) you will more than likely bruise, I only have 1 bruise where it was put in my cupids bow but I'm a bleeder and a bruiser so I was expecting it
Omg, I'm happy I have full lips...thanks for that DNA. I'm not dissing anyone, but I'm so happy I don't have to do that.
Black people were blessed with beautiful lips
Thank you for sharing Susan :)
How much does this cost? Do you need to keep injecting frequently or every year for maintenance?
Susan I would love to know how you feel about the hyaluronic injection without needle, the hyaluropen, I‘m considering it but I‘m scared that it will be uneven...
Marine Tonda i’ve gotten the pen done, it’s a very natural look, not painful, lasted around 4 months for me
I got it done too, it’s VERY subtle, and only lasted about 3 months.
Your upper lip looks beautiful, don't ruin it's unique shape giving it that "done" look. Just my opinion
