I totally understand the feeling of letting your dad drive the 911, me and my dad were always interested in cars as well. Sadly I wasn't able to let him ride in my first 'nice' car since he did not survive his battle with cancer. When I do a little pull from a traffic light and I Imagining him sitting next to me in my car grinning just like your dad was with you always puts a smile on my face. Cars do have that special feeling, which is hard to explain to those that don't get it. You hit the nail on the head with this video, thanks and good luck toughing it out during these difficult times. Greetings from The Netherlands.
Yeah pops deserves to have fun in a car every now and then. Im about his age, and our fathers' generation, a lot of them had or are haveing a rough fuckin time.
All jokes aside, I am always impressed by how humble and hardworking you are. And it makes sense, you were raised by an upstanding gentleman with a kind soul and a strong working spirit. He has beaten more hardships than most people will encounter in their lifetimes. The relationship between you and your dad is so heartwarming. I totally get what you mean about cars having emotional connections. When I was a baby my dad would put me on the seat of his old truck and would drive around when I couldnt sleep. He passed away when I was 3 years old, but I still have memories of that truck. Then my grandfather took the truck and kept it running until he passed away from cancer. It still sits there, and I think one day I would want to take it and get it back running. But everytime I drive around, I think of them. And I wish I could put them in my passenger seats, and be the one driving. Spend as much time loving your family while they're still on this earth.
My aunt loves Porsches. She lives in a remote area but almost never flies because she loves to drive her porsche on the highway. They're simply a pleasure to drive.
Respect to your father dude. My mom was ill for about three months and I had to manage the household and also go visit her in hospital and I know it ain't much but I understand the struggle he's been through in life with losing loved ones and those who are in the flesh fade away right before your eyes. Hope you, your father and the rest of your family nothing but good times. Thank you for the folks you are helping out. I'm from a country where it would cost 8 months salary just to replace a keyboard ( Sri Lanka - all the way on the other side of the world). So yea it is safe to say your videos have just about reached every corner of God's green earth 😂. P.S. I'm curious to know what you think about the HP ProBook 450 G2 (the laptop I've been using for almost 10 years now 👺)
Kudos to you and your dad, and my condolences to your dad ...my dad always tells me, you have to have witnessed hardship to know and appreciate value and good times
It's great that you keep your father in touch and do things for him. My dad and I love cars and love to go fast as well. I hope one day I will get my favorite car, a Chevy Corvette, and both of us will drive the wheels off of it.
911 has been my dream car ever since I got a toy 993 as a 5 year old. This is a really nice video of how it is actually owning one from a perspective of a normal person.
People are probably gonna mock me, but I really want to buy a 1st gen Porsche Boxster (986) with a 6 speed manual transmission, I don't really care much about the engine it might as well be the smaller 2,5L. IMO it's an amazing looking car, relatively cheap and from what I've heard, it's delightful to drive. And it's a convertible, I've been driving an VW EOS (2010) and I love how connected to the road I am, it's delightful even if a bit underpowered (mine has a 1.4L I4 ≈130cv)
Awesome video Andy, thanks for giving us a peak into your personal life and on your dad and his humor in the past few videos! He sounds like a super cool (and fun!) dad! Awesome video man!
I recently bought my first car, a Dacia from 2010 with 244.000km driven. And the fact It still works so smootly and feels so comfortable to drive is why I like It so much. It's also one of the most repairable cars that have ever lived.
I'm a car guy and a little teenager who loves things because of what they are instead of their value. I do have a serious backache and a bad neck. And the car that I'll choose for taking care of myself, entertaining myself, making me enjoy my life, and finally sleeping in the coffin. The choice is none other than any 911 that's ever existed. My dream car is a 911k or a 911 S/T. I think it's kinda too crazy for anyone to believe that...... If I didn't know the existence of 911, I wouldn't be here, alive, and leaving a comment like now. Before I first ever knew that Porsche 911s were truly stand-out sportscars, I was at the low-end point in my life, interested in nothing, didn't know the meaning of being alive, and was hated by everyone. But as long as I know that, I've been a very positive, energetic, and somewhat cool person. I want to thank everyone that puts in time and effort to developers that works on 911, and THE GOOCH COLLECTOR. Thanks for giving me hope when I was struggling, and bringing a big smile to my face. Porsche makes brilliant cars, and that's why we car guys love them so much.

Keeping you and your family in my prayers. I can relate to what you are going through on so many levels. Seeing your father's smile while behind the wheel of such an amazing machine brought back some awesome memories of my dad. Thank you for sharing! 🙏❤️👊

@@SalemTechsperts That sucks. But the thing is, I don't understood Dodge's logic with not making Vipers anymore. I know for a few years they didn't sell well but from 2017 till 2025 that's 8 years.
