    Tony calls Thor "Lebowski" and Jeff Bridges was the villain in Iron Man 1! Coincidence I think not

    I think that in all the scenes,in every movie that Thanos was in,we have never seen Thanos angry or lose his temper. But in that moment after he fought Captain America, Thanos was pissed the fuck off. Because that was the first time that he truly gotten his ass kicked. That's also why he told Cap that he was gonna enjoy destroying earth because for the first time he got his ass handed to him.

    Scarlett Witch fighting thanos was one of my favorites. The anger in her face and what she said to him was the best. And his classic response "I don't even know you...." Loved it.
    Great review, spot on. Saw it twice and cant wait for Blue Ray to see it again to see all these other hidden gems. Peace

    I been waiting on this review for aggggeeeeessssss. It was definitely worth it :). Glad to see and hear what you both liked both @Phat Samurai and @LadyPhatBlood. I really liked it all, even the Captain America stuff which I did not see as selfish, I just saw it as him FINALLY getting his chance at a happy life. The Iron Man stuff I suspected but did not know til it actually happened... but do wish more did not make it.

    Well done, Lady Samurai. Agreed about Widow. 2nd viewing made me CRY. My 16 year old son (who had seen it twice with me) comforted me - he knew I loved her and this time - knowing what was about to happen - I lost my shit.
    On your left call back. Cap and Sam's callback. My favorite characters (Cap and Falcon were my first comic book readings in the 70s) having a major narrative part....
    Endgame surpassed my expectations.
    Nice breakdown.

    I love you guys lol. Spot in with most of the review. My only 2 cents would be that this movie was just the celluloid embodiment of a comic book. Time travel rules will change to fit the stories. This is just the first run in. Wait til they do it again. And they will. And they'll explain why it WILL work in that particular storyline. I love comics for that bc if the writing is tight, it'll make sense initially lol.

    Thanks for posting this, I was eager to see what you had to say about this movie. I had to see this movie twice.
    First time I saw Fat Thor I was afraid they were going to go Guardians 2 on us and undercut every heavy emotional moment with a joke. I enjoyed how they let Thor fall into a depression over his failure. He's fat and drunk when we first see him, but one mention of Thanos sobers him up quick and you get to see the pain, shame and regret in his face. It pays off later in the film when he gets Mjolnir back and realizes even through his failure and depression that he is still worthy. That is something that really stood out to me the 2nd viewing.
    Cap has been the character i've latched onto throughout all these movies, especially after Ultron and Winter Soldier. The beginning of this movie cements the fact that he's never really moved on, despite the fact that he's trying to help all these people get on with their lives, he knows he doesn't belong in this time. Part of the reason why he stood so adamant against Tony in Civil War was Bucky and Peggy. When Peggy dies, Bucky is all he has left. He's okay with Bucky being arrested but he won't let them kill him. Now he's being shown that time travel is possible and they can possibly save everyone. They go back to 1970 and the moment he see's Peggy he knows what he wants to do. But he's the Captain and the mission comes first. So after a 1 in a 14 million + shot, they do it. Cap volunteers to go back, trim the branches, put everything back they way they left it and lives the life that he has always wanted to. One that he's rightfully earned.
    Time travel can be messy. It's never really bothered me in the XMen movies and it doesn't bother me here, it just opens other possibilities they could explore in a one-off if they ever chose to. Overall, I really enjoyed the thematic and emotional payoffs this film delivered. We see the conclusion to quite a few story arcs, and another chapter for some of the newer characters.

    • @Rodshark75
      @Rodshark75 5 лет назад

      Yeah, Thor's arc was really emotional for me as well...been through similar issues

    You might not know this, but all the scenes of Captain Marvel on Endgame were shot first before they shoot her actual movie, that's some of the reasons the Russo's mentioned she had specific screen time.
    Also, the Hawkeye- Black widow sacrifice scene, more than fighting themselves to commit suicide, I see it more like it was fighting themselves to save the other.
    Oh about what PhatBlood Lady said at 1:02:50 about Black Widow having a funeral or something. They all mourn her when they retrieved the stones... and even Hulk tried to bring her back in the 1st snap. So, she had her mourning moment, I don't give much drama about that, her body died and lies in Volmir. I think that feminist all ladies avengers fight scene was in honor of her too. Meanwhile, Tony died there in the final battle and of course, he was the founder of the Avengers initiative, the funeral scene was fitting.

      @surfitlive Captain "mistake" couldn't have been much of one if it made over a billion dollars. Don't like the character, fine... but I am pretty sure no one in the studio thinks it's been a mistake. I would have actually liked to see more Captain Marvel footage, only instead of destroying Thanos' ship (which was the laziest scene in the movie IMO, she couldn't get through the shields and starts getting blasted and ducks out to get help and returns with the Ravagers and them working together destroy Thanos' ship

      @Reginald Andrews I loved your super long comment. lol I did. You hit the nail on the head. I, too, feel that the Russos used her really well. I loved her solo film. Didn't think it was great, just good, and I loved its msgs and how cool it was. I think she needed much better directors, cuz the two she had wanted her to be like a smart-ass Terminator type of character. I get it, though, cuz the Kree aren't supposed to show emotion. But the directors should've made her slowly become more human and more dynamic, much like how Brie is in her interviews. I LOVE her real-life personality and dry wit, and wish that she was allowed to be that way as CM, like how RDJ was pretty much told to just be himself for Tony Stark. Hopefully the CM sequels will be epic with depth and heart.

    Ironman was the best character in MCU, his doucheness is awesome, I guess he's " so selfish" since he saved everyone in first Avengers and in Avengers Endgame, both of which he did when he would have nothing to gain out of it except death which he did in Endgame, so just saying don't think he's that selfish, 100% facts he saved everyone in 2 out of the 4 Avengers movies knowing he's probably gonna die, this isn't hate comment this is truth comment ✌

    I enjoyed the Captain Marvel movie for what it was and i have no hate for the character, but I am still glad the used her minimally. Even if her movie had been a really good one her character did not earn the right to take out Thanos or even have a bigger part. Maybe had she had a few more movies before this then sure. Having her take out Thanos' ship and "even up" the battle was just fine with me.

    Lady phat blood I agree with why I was team cap in civil war...
    What I hated about stark in that movie is this single line WE NEED TO BE PUT IN CHECK Tony is so self centered he didn't even trust another avenger to lead, he would rather hand the responsibility to Ross than to cap just to win the argument.

    Great review, but have to point out this. You talk about people viewing Natasha’s story and Thor negatively, speaking of that, you view Tony’s choice on bringing back people negatively as well. It’s not selfish, but actually considerate of Tony. During the five years billions of people moved on, imagine how many people had children during the five years, the avengers don’t have the right to take away that. Sure tony is one of them, but you can’t say that’s selfish.

    Morag is the planet Star-Lord went to to get the Power stone.
    Nebula was Thanos' unwitting spy--Thanos saw and heard everything she did. Thanos showed us this in Infinity War when he revealed to Gamora that he knew that she knew where the Soul stone was. Went present day Nebula arrived in 2014, she created feedback similar to two receivers in close proximity to one another.
    If you watch the scene with Nebula handing Thanos the Pym particles, you'll notice its rather large size. When Hulk held the actual Pym particles, they were quite small in his hands. 2014 Nebula, or someone else on Thanos' ship, was able to replicate the particles. 2014 Nebula returned with present day Nebula's particles and Thanos and his crew arrived with their synthesized version of it.

    I'm really enjoying your review and commenting as I watch. I love how invested you are in these characters! I don't know if this makes sense or not, but I assume after learning about the future and the plan to stop him, the past/alternate Thanos learned about the Quantum Realm by hijacking Nebula's memories, revered engineered the Pym Particles, and used the Stark time/space GPS to safely arrive in the same timeline as the 2020 Avengers. It might have taken him years to do all this, but it seemed instantaneous from the point of view of the Avengers once he was ready to go. I dunno. Just how I look at it... not sure it even makes sense. :D

    Interesting... All through 'Captain America: The First Avenger', Steve Rodgers and Agent Carter were figuratively talking about finding the right person for a dance partner. So as fanfare they had them get their dance. ;O) Which seemed like the perfect closure for someone so out of touch/time as he was after being frozen for 70 years.

    Im hoping that when we get the announcement for Phase 4 in July the big villain next has got to be Galactus as they will start seeding origin characters inbetween the next 10 years. There's already rumours of Black Knight and Captain Britain coming who incidentally was mentioned by Peggy Carter in Endgame behind the glass when Steve was watching her in 1970's apparently. Shang Chi will have the return of the Mandarin as the villain then the big finale the Russo's will return for is Secret Wars. They have stated multiple times in interviews that is what they want to do upon returning to the MCU. Loved the review as always!

    i thing the thing about how time works and them trying to hammer it in was so the characters think/believe time works one way and the viewers see it working another way. so, the characters aren't aware of the multiple universes.

    Great review been waiting for this one. Endgame was filmed before Captain Marvel. I honestly don’t think the Russos ever intended for her to be a big part of the movie. I think endgame was always going to focus on the main squad. I say that kuz in the final battle like they give her 3 moments where the focus is on her. 1. Destroying the ships 2. The Peter Parker moment/Thanos fight 3. Tony’s funeral she gets a shot all by herself. Idk I don’t think they caved in on Brie Larson, the money she made for them trumps everything negative that was said about her. Loved the video tho been missing these.

    Yeah, I agree captain mistakes were made is in this as much as could be justified, but also "less is more" applies considering her reception in her title movie. I will say that the time travel only made sense to people who got the reference about the inverted mobious strip (there are videos explaining that), and they should have explained it better, that any divergence from that specific time that Tilda Swintons character is talking about is how alternative timelines would be created, by a factorial (n!) of the dscrepencies, like loki taking the tesseract. But otherwise great review guys, and thanks for pointing out the self righteous arses that complain about Big Labouski being fat shaming, cause they can get screwed. 👍

    Loved the slow beginning with proper drama. NOT boring at all. Also, I'm fat and I loved fat Thor and everything about it. And the Black Widow situation was great. Snowflakes gotta shut up! Seriously!
    Also: when Cap pulls that lightining out of the sky and hammers it down on Thanos... such an awesome move. Oh... and since when can Thor transform himself like that? Pulling an armor and a braided beard out of thin air? And that kid on the bike: just a random kid with a longer reaction shot, showing him thinking "Why doesn't that weirdo know what's been going on for the last 5 years". Nothing more to it. Sam being Captain America would be cool, but he has no superhuman strength which strike me as a handicap when you have to lug a heavy shield around and fight with it too. I understand the reasoning for not making it Bucky... a known terrorist and murderer with brainwashed mental instability. Probably not the best choice to go public with. ;)
    Alan Silvestri killed it in this movie! Awesome score!

    Sadly, idiots confuse drama with boredom.
    The same people who think Empire Strikes Back is boring...
    Also, there's different ways to write a time travel movie. Not every movie has to adhere to one way of it being told.

    • @jihadsmith762
      @jihadsmith762 5 лет назад +3

      jmiester25 yea time travel isn’t real and can be explained anyway the writers want but that being said this movie like most fumbled the time travel shit the longer the movie went. Also people who thought it was boring shouldn’t be idiots. It’s just them having a different opinion.

    I made sense of the time travel thing (maybe I'm dumb) time travel in MCU explained by hulk , when you go back you're doing it in the future of your timeline not actually going back on time of your timeline.

  • @G1Transformed
    @G1Transformed 5 лет назад

    When Steve went back in time to return the stones, he did just that, he returned the stones. He didn't turn the Reality stone back into the Aether to inject it into Jane. He also didn't put the Space stone back inside Tesseract nor did he put the Power stone back inside its decorative metal shell. He left the present with a case containing the stones and Mjolnir, and nothing else. He simply lacked the tools to do any of those things. He just returned the stones to their general locations in time moments after they were taken--Hulk told Steve that the coordinates were in the case. Steve prevented the apocalypse by returning the stones, but the past now has several different realities. 1945, 1970, 2012, 2013 and 2014 all have realities shadowing what actually was. We'll have to wait and see what if anything will come of this, but nothing probably will, as Steve lived a full life with Peggy from 1945 up to the time of her death, and the present was unaffected. What happens with Loki should be interesting though because he's beholden to no one now, Thanos has been removed from 2012 Loki's future.

  • @jokerz7936
    @jokerz7936 5 лет назад

    Time Travel involving changing history in films always creates 2 paradoxes. One if you erased an event or person then why did you go back since you now eliminated the very reason you wanted to time travel? Two shouldn't there be a new version of you that lived through the new version of the timeline and thus now 2 of you exist or yourself be erased from history? So by saying if you change history it will create a divergent timeline parallel to your own is the more theoretically logical outcome because it eliminates paradoxes.

    Cap's ending was appropriate although I could've done without the old man Cap showing up at the end. And then that nice little scene with him and Peggy dancing in the end - done.

    Me again. I just wanted to point out that there is only one timeline, as the Ancient explained and showed Bruce. The only way to create a new timeline is to remove (and not return) an infinity stone from its current place in time, which is why it was so important for Steve to put the stones back. Visiting/changing the past doesn't create a new timeline, what happens is is a new reality is created--think of it as a virtual world. Bruce said it best when he said the past always was and always will be.
    The 2012 Avenger Tower debacle exists simultaneously with the past, but in a different reality. While Loki still exists in a different reality, I think it's pretty safe to assume he's going to find a way to cross realities and come to ours. He's going to find it odd that Thanos and his army have completely vanished without a trace.

    I kinda liked that ultimately, Iron Man made the "selfless" sacrifice, and Captain America made the "selfish" choice to live out his life with Peggy. It felt appropriate for these two stuck-in-a-rut (character-wise) heroes to leave on such divergent actions...because how could they continue to exist as the characters we love if they grow to the point where they make such incongruous decisions? :)

    Fun review. I disagree with your take on the time travel explanation, though. It makes far more sense how Marvel described it, and it's more in-line with how science explains it might actually work IRL. It's actually not so much "time travel" per se, as it is visiting the past of another dimension.

    The Russo Brothers confirmed one Captain America went back at the end and lived his life with Peggy it was an alternate timeline. At some point probably after Peggy dies he comes back to the current timeline to give falcon The shield. I was confused at that part two until the Russos cleared that up

    The way I interpret the "time travel" is that they didn't technically time travel so much as they traveled to seperate time lines.

    I could be wrong, but I think Black Widow didn’t get a funeral because I think Marvel wanted to be careful with her handling given that she has a movie coming out. Many online are speculating that she’s getting a prequel movie, but when pressed on this interviews the Russos never really answer. I think she’s getting something else, but time will tell.

      There is a way to bring her back. If I am correct, it will be explained how in her prequel film. And revealed post credits.

    • @G1Transformed
      @G1Transformed 5 лет назад

      Dankitus Prime, does she need a prequel though? We know her story.
      In any case, I think the line ‘a soul for a Soul’ has to work both ways. I know Clint said that the floaty red guy said it couldn’t be undone, but I believe that he was talking from the point of view before Natasha had died. After he had the stone, he was determined to get the stone back to present day and get the job done-he wasn’t going to let Natasha’s death be for nothing.
      The trade for the Soul stone was supposed to weigh heavy on the person seeking it, so that he or she would understand its power and cost. I would think a person who understands that and gives it up willingly would be rewarded too.
      I think that Red Skull is the stone, its consciousness. I don’t think he physically exists. How could he live on a planet without vegetation or any other type of food?
      Anyway, I think Natasha’s solo movie is one that moves the story forward, not back. I think it takes place moments after Steve returns the stone and will revolve around her trying to find her way back home. Lucky for her, though, she she’d still have her round trip ticket in her wrist strap;)

    I went in not watching anything that would give me spoilers and I’m glad I did. Acting was great, the story was great.
    The only thing for me personally was that I wanted Hulk to get more, I wanted him to “Hulk “ out on Thanos for the final battle.
    But it was amazing how they were able to tie everything up. Great review 👍

    I loved the movie but i feel like they nerf the stones. It was said in Guardians of Galaxy that no normal mortal could hold the stones, but in endgame, it felt like anyone could hold the stones. Not to mention that, nanotechnology apparently is as strong as the infinity gauntlet that was created using a star.

    I pretty much agreed with all of this, but....I really feel like Tony redeemed himself far more than you're acknowledging throughout the other films. This is a character who evolved a lot. After all, he did take the nuke into space in "The Avengers," sacrificing himself. And I don't think it was wrong of him to want to keep his daughter alive by saying he didn't want to undo anything that had been done in the last five years. Why wouldn't he want to save her, and what's wrong with that? And also, you mentioned that they didn't use the credits scene from Captain Marvel; I feel like her rescuing Tony's ship happened AFTER that credits scene, because all the remaining Avengers already seemed to know who she was when she arrived with the ship. Just sayin'. I think she had a convo with them between the Captain Marvel credits scene and when she showed up to save Tony.

    Hi, guys! I just thought you might enjoy this video. It explains more clearly how time travel has always worked in Marvel comics. Endgame is true to this model from the comics, but they go over it so fast that I think it left a lot of people scratching their heads. I think the scenes between Hulk and the Ancient do the best job of explaining how Marvel time travel really just creates alternate realities and under most circumstances, you cannot return to your original timeline. Fortunately in Endgame, Tony made the time/space GPS wristbands so that they could cheat this rule, but it's going to have consequences (which is where I think the villain Kang the Conqueror will come in, but that's a whole other big ball of wax). Anyway, this guy's channel is great and I thought you'd enjoy this episode in particular: ruclips.net/video/MAt0xpQe934/видео.html
