Biggest plot hole: Sarah said she had been spending the last few years fighting Terminators. But why is Skynet still sending back all of these Terminators if John is dead?
I saw Terminator dark fate twice I like it I might see it again I think it is as good maybe slightly better than Terminator 3!!!
There are only two Terminator movies that matter. 1&2

Linda Hamilton was a beast in this movie. Didn't disappoint. The rest though.. hmm, well??
There is only 3 terminator films. 1, 2 and 3.
"Rise of the machines" was good enough.
In the sense that, it was a 3rd film. Time travel involved again, BUT it still advanced the story. We got to see the machines take over. We got to see that moment.
Then Salvation was a VERY unique terminator film.
But genesis and this ugh.

This was the most interesting review I've seen on the movie. I got a kick out of comparing the timelines in the movies to the Choose Your Path adventure books.

The only review I needed to see, but I wanted top point out that Lady Phatblood only moved the lint on Samurai's shirt at 30:51 rather than removing it, so it may still be there!
I was not not impressed with it but liked having Linda Hamilton back she is as bad ass as she was in T2. You guys always do fair honest real reviews. You guys always rock
Actually she ended up kind of bad-a** by the end of the 1st. She was keeping a severely injured Kyle Reese going pretty much by force of will. And I don't know about you but I would have had a hard time making myself crawl through that machine in order to take out the T1000.

Genesis story was better . And "protect my Sarah" made me feel what terminator 2 did .

I wasn't even planning to see this in movies because from TRAILER 1 I had a feeling of what's gonna happen and everybody just confirmed what I thought especially the first 5 minutes Lol!
Same here. huge disappointment, cause at first I had some hope it will be good.
I hated this movie. After John Connor got killed off, I had a hard time getting back into it. I was into it a few seconds into the film but then after that happened, the movie never wheeled me back in. Was also very confused what they were trying to do with Arnold in this film
Amazing honest review (as always)
When I first saw it I really enjoyed it
however over a few days it all kinda sank in, and my thoughts have been mixed
I felt the opening was well done but would of preferred if he had been with Sarah Connor and died in the arms of the girl who would become the next John Connor - passing the torch sort of thing
Anyway that didn’t happen
I liked the grace character at some points and not at the Sarah bashing
I also laughed at the jumping lol
it’s an entertaining movie overall
Dumb but fun
But loved the first 30 minutes and last 30 minutes
It’s the hour in the middle
But my favourite line is
“And I’m funny” by arnie / hilarious for me
I still preferred terminator 3 don’t shoot me lol
But this was for me a solid but flawed entry
Linda and Arnie saved this movie for me
I give you the purpose cracked me up Phat Samurai lol
One question
How much more impact would it had been if we didn’t see arnie in the trailer and he walked out as a surprise as Carl - i knew as soon as the mystery texts it was arnie - would of been a little more impactful if Arnold wasn’t casted it mentioned in publicity

so john Connor dies after T2 (1 year after it happened ) the terminator kills him so he never gets to be in the future. so terminator 3 , salvation and genisys never happened because john was in all of them and it was him that sent Kyle Reese ( his father) back to the past to protect Sarah Connor (his mom) ,but if john died and never got to be apart of the future then Kyle would not be sent back to meet Sarah and john would not be born so Terminator 1,2 are now pointless and terminator: dark fate contradicts its own self .

they completely threw away the first two movies by killing john connor. the worst mistake they could’ve ever made.
I might be in the minority here, but I thought Linda Hamilton's performance in this film was disappointing, and sub par. It seemed like she was just slogging her way through it. The movie as a whole, was pretty disappointing, actually. I went into it not expecting much.. but was still pretty damn unhappy with it. Grace had potential to be an amazing character, especially with her introduction in the beginning. But after that little 3 way gab fest in the hotel room, I checked out on giving a shit about her. The lone bright spots, for me (if you wanna call em that) were the fight scenes with Arnold and REV 9. Don't waste time on this. If you can somehow get this for "nothing" .. then get it. Otherwise, you'd be better served gargling a mouth full of razor-blades.
I loved the movie, thought it was better than the last few they did.
Watched Terminator Genisys for the first time.

What they could have done to make a new kinda story in the Terminator series. Is instead of a regular Terminator be sent back to the past have a cyborg that IS SKYNET AI comeback to find who ever its target is. This final killer could be the thee most powerful of them all. It being the AI itself capable of hacking any computer or electronic. Have this movie be like Terminator meets Maximum Overdrive. Where can you hide where can you go. You depend on technology bnow it is your great threat. Terminator Doomsday.
There are movies that lend themselves to endless sequels ... and then there's the terminator series, that really opened and shut the door with the first two movies. Nothing else really makes much sense after that, unless you plan to just take a royal dump on what T and T2 established and finished.
I went to see this movie for Linda Hamilton and Arnold. It's not surprising to me that they are the main reason why I enjoyed it.
The Grace character: Her schtick was interesting. Being an upgraded human to fend off Terminator's with superspeed/strength would be super taxing on the body. Yeah, she was pretty bitchy to someone who had saved her life more than once. And he had a few pieces of dialog that made me want Sarah Connor to shoot her in the face.
Dani: Was fine. Her role is pretty similar to Sarah's in Terminator 1. She's there to be protected until the end when we see her character grow to protect herself. She will help along the way, of course, but she's not doing the heavy lifting. Her success will be to survive. And now she'll have badass Sarah Connor to show her the ropes!
T800/Carl: I knew Arnold was going to be in this movie and it wasn't just to be de-aged in the beginning (which was ballsy, bytheway, but I appreciated that scene). I like the idea that a Terminator without a mission, being unable to self terminate, would learn to live in the past, adapt to humanity and find a purpose, possibly helping people. I don't care for the name Carl or his Drapery, but I love his gun shed. "It's Texas".
It's the Sarah/Carl interactions that saved this movie for me. I also like it more than Genysis, although I do like parts of that movie (and Salvation...it's probably mostly Arnold) and nothing is going to hold a candle to T1 and T2. I give it a 7/10. Remove Grace's bitchiness and we can talk 7.5.
I like the new Terminator I'm thinking about going to see it again
Genisys at least tried to hide the whole reboot aspect under a crazy story that could be seen as entertaining. Arnie's role was waaay better and touching. It had purple lasers and a more gritty tone. Dark Fate... It felt so lazy it was infuriating.
I actually preferred the Terminator as Pops competing with Jai Courteney. That's a bad sign

Great review as always. The first two Terminators to me were always Sarah's story. How a machine turned her into a machine and then how a machine turned her back human. Once it stopped being about her, the franchise lost it's way.
Though I can't think of another character who has been fucked over more than John Connor.

I probably won’t see this movie. The only one I liked was the first one and the second one. This movie was Number one at the box office. But it Still a flop. It only made 29,000,000 million dollars 💵. That was Domestic.The Budget of the movie was 185,000,000 plus another 10,000,000 for the advertisement. It will never make its money 💰 back. Terminator shouldn’t been a Franchise movie at All. That’s my opinion. GrEaT review. 🤘🔥🤘Keep making more.

As on of my friends perfectly said, its like the force awakens. It's simply a new hope, but with a female lead. Same thing with this film. It's T2, but with a female lead. But honest question, do feel that the terminator should be a franchise or should have ben a two movie series. Honestly, I feel it's milking on nostalgia rather than creating new and exciting films. My personal favorite terminator film is terminator salvation. It just felt different from the standard terminator formula for its film.

Fantastic to see my favorite you tube couple back :) Sadness it had to be THIS film.... To me as a science fiction fan (which gets less good films then any other genre besides horror) please Please PLEASE stop crapping on movies that come before you JUST to make the film stand out.... they do NOT earn what they did (anyone who sees this film knows damn well what they did to a character of renown) there is no pay off for that there is no EARNING it. This could of rebooted this limp series forward in a brand new way for everyone old and new fans alike. This was a waste of talent a waste of time and a waste of the millions an millions of dollars sunk into it. Total 5 or 6 out of 10 or to quote my boy Jeremy Jahns " you wont remember this movie" with ANY fondness. save your money see it on cable ot dvd. Hope your next adventure out Lady Phat and Phat Samurai is a good one. Perhaps Doctor Sleep or the Light House hearing good word of mouth for both.

Aah, guys, just came out from the movie and liked it! Even when considering its taking on from T1 and T2. Yees, better gore and more scifi horror vibes would have been great, but I rather take this than nothing with Arnold :) And come on, what did you feel when you heard the last time, "for John"

Good review guys. My only criticism (bar that this film is WAY worse than any of the sequels!) is that your scores were much more generous than your critique. This trash is only 1.5 stars below T1 and T2 in you rating. That would class this as a very good movie.....it's not. Good stuff though. Keep up the great work.
I liked the Grace character but I would of liked it more if she was the villain and the Rev 9 was the hero Grace was a straight up douchbag to Sarah Connor. I was rooting for the Rev 9 most of the time.

Lol I’m actually watching 1 right now and then 2 but nah I still have to see it, even though there are things in the trailer I already don’t like. This movie sounds like a hybrid mix of reasons why I hate Disney Star Wars movies and the HBO Watchmen series. Shits on the familiarity of the original(s), and now the heroes we've known all our lives are being replaced with empty shells that are used to do nothing more than to promote whatever the agenda is at the time.
Oh and 1 last thing. I'm so glad Carl didnt put on that jacket and shades. Let me tell you. That wouldve been the last straw for Sarah. She wouldve went off the rails and started shooting Carl if he showed up in the same clothes as the Terminator that killed John.
I kept waiting for a way for them to bring the story back to John Connor in a possibility of saving John some fucking how, through time travel. It didn’t happen. No John Connor no money from me to see these movies in the future. I’m done.

Dark Fate wasn’t bad at all, I liked the movie.. The Terminator franchise for me ends with T2..
And the second thing is the Rev 9. I mean. It's a good bad guy, but not a great 1. T-1000 is a great Bad Guy. OG Terminator is a great Bad Guy. Brunnhilde/T3 was aight. Rev 9 was aight. T-3000 was freakin great!!! Which was my point.
The splitting apart thing was nice. The black liquid metal was cool, but when you tell me this is the most dangerous terminator of them all.

This movie left me asking ALOT of questions. Many one is. If skynet went online in 1997. Why did they sent terminators after 97. After skynet had already launched nukes?Theres no way Carl could've text Sarah before 97 cause there wasnt texting. So leaves us to believe it's been more resent. Were they skynet or legion terminators Sarah was killing? Did I miss something here or was this just lazy ass writing?

Basically the 2 universally respected Terminator movies? Yeah those literally don`t matter anymore.
But y`know what, lets at the same time take general plot elements and other things and retell the exact same thing with less weight.
God that shit was really really fucking bad, genysis might`ve been horrible but at the very least it came with new shit and didn`t you know what in the first 2 minutes.
How you kill John, I’m was pissed off about that, if sky net sent several terminators back in the past John should had been dead in T-2. In T-1 we won the war in the future, we built this character up kill him to have a new leader, she looked the same in 2019 like she did 2044 wow. This terminator talk to much. He was not scary enough he just was a bad ass. James cam, is not back, he don’t and didn’t care, in one of his interviews he said terminator was done when finished T-2.
T2 Alternate Ending is the True Ending.
